Description: Group of school boys headed down Main Street in Amana, presumably from the school to a church service or outing. About twenty boys, most of them wearing straw hats, are seen on the main street in Amana, between the Moershel Kitchen House and the general store. View was taken from approximately in front of what is today the Ox Yoke Inn. In the distance, farther up the street, a group of girls is following the boys at a distance. Also visible in the background is the Noe House Building of the Amana Heritage Museum. I have the original glass plate for this image. This print is probably from the 1910s or 1920s. The dimensions are 3 1/4 X 5. I printed an 8 X 10 enlargement from the plate some years ago.
Provenance: Purchased from Peter Hoehnle.
