Description: Portrait of Emma Beck standing inside a grape vine covered arbor near her family home in the village of Homestead. Fence in background is wire on wooden frame and Beck is dressed in a dress that, while dark and somewhat plain, clearly shows the outside influences creeping into the community around the late 1910s when this image was taken, probably by Jacob F. Selzer (1888-1917). Provenance: Purchased from Peter Hoehnle.
