We, the Inter-racial, Inter- national, Inter-religious Interdenominational, and Non-partisan Co-workers or FATHER DIVINE’S PEACE MISSION and its Department of Right- eous Government, greet all mankind with PEACE. In the Light of this New Day and Dispensation in which we are now living since the advent of FATHER DIVINE—Whom twenty-two million have recognized as their Saviour come to Earth again in Bodily Form——we are advocating RIGHTEOUS- NESS, JUSTICE and TRUTH in every walk of life. Therefore we request the cooperation of all Governments in LEGALIZING these QUALITIES, and the participation of all right-thinking people in Universalizing a RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT. For this cause we are assembled in a great International Righteous Government Convention in New York City these three days, the Tenth, Elev- enth, and Twelfth of January, 1936, A.D.F.D., with Delegates , from ‘many different Countries and States. The Righteous Government Department of FATHER DIVINE’S Peace Mission Movement has adopted a Platform embodying some of the more important issues of its .Righteous Stand. This. Platform, which has been verified and endorsed by FATHER DIVINE with His Personal signature, we are privileged to present to you as follows: * * * In presenting RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT to the world at large, nothing more fitting or far- reaching could be said than what has already been Said by~Him Who is the Founder of it, VVho,has already introduced it to every field of life by es- tablishing it in the lives of twenty-two million Followers living in practically every Civilized Country on Earth. A few of His Personal Words on the subject, as He addressed thousands of His Followers recently in New York City, were as follows :— “It has been through the Ages, that Religion and the Religious Teaching have caused men to be submissive, meek and obedient if they were Religious, but obedient to wickedness, obedient to dishonesty, obedient to unrighteous- ness. Therefore it profited you nothing to be Re- ligious and obedient. What profit would it be to us to-day bring you into the Spirit and the ac- _ tion of Righteousness, unless we have a Right- eous Government? That is why there are so many of the different individuals that have re- sorted to violence, and refused to accept of the Teaching of Religion.” " “They have striven to keep the CHRIST from the Political world. Through the different Reli- gions you have been taught that Religion and Politics will not mix, but I am privileged to Say, without the true concept of CHRIST and the rec- ognition of His Presence among the Politicians, the world will continue to be filled with cor- ruption, and it is a matter of impossibility to receive your deliverance saving through this great Conversion.” ' ' ’ ‘‘RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE shall become to be a Living Reality, and shall be established universally through Legality, and every nation, language, tongue, and people shall accept it'as the Fundamental.” We believe in these Words because we are among the millions that have already been im- pregnated with these Qualities by FATHER DI- VINE. Through the New Dispensation of GOD on Earth in Bodily Form, we already have a RIGHT- EOUS GOVERNMENT, for RIGHTEOUSNESS, JUSTICE and’ TRUTH are now Reigning in us where unrighteousness, injustice, and untruth once held sway. Therefore we set forth some of‘ the Principles of Righteous Government already es- tablished in our midst, and some of the issues involved, that they may be legalized universally. A 4: axe ax: PRINCIPLES V That the whole human race is essentially one, ‘\and “Of one Blood GOD formed all nations,” has been attested both by Scripture and by Science. NOTHING LESS THAN CHRIST For this cause, I the Represen- tative of this International Right- eous Government Convention, and not only Representative of the In- Righteous Government Convention but the Representative of the International Righteous Gov- ernment—I stand to tell you just what we represent. We represent nothing less than CHRIST, and nothing more than G-OD, but best of all for the children of men is to realize, we recognize the Personi- fied realization in the presence of all of them. ‘ Therefore as a united body as- sembled, we do adopt these resolu- tions and others that are not yet mentioned, for the Righteous Gov- ernment Forum universally, and for all of the Governments of our pres- ent Civilization. Remember, we are not merely talking about something that means a limited expression among the Believers in Religion, but we are talking about establishing RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE throughout the length and breadth of our great Civiliza- tion’ through all the nations, lan- guages, tongues and people, that. each and every man might have RIGHTEOUSNESS, and -JUSTICE and TRUTH as his or her Protec- tion. HARNESSING TI-IF: MENTALITY , There are many things I could Say, but I know the time) seems to be-quite well expired; but I feel as though you all realize, the Words that I Speak to you, they are Spirit and they are Life. I heard the Spirit of the Movement say through twenty—two million, ‘The Words that You have Spoken. and the Words that You are Speaking, are Law and Order.’ (‘Yes FA’l‘HER’—- game a mighty shout.) I see you vmifying them _be_fore T Speak them. Isce a-ll the.gl\latio1is of the lilarth gel-ting‘ together to verify. and con- . them to believe.Me. The “SPOKEN WORD” firm every Word I have Spoken. Why is it? It is because I have harnessed the mentality of all hu- manity. I have harnessed your dg— testable energy, and I am bringing you all into subjection, willingl;,( or unwillingly. Therefore I DO Say and Declare this Evening, ‘We shall have a RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT,’ and all the Nations of the Earth shall endorse it. It is indeed Wonder- ful! I am not asking humanity to believe in Me, I am not asking It is absolutely immaterial to Me, whether you be- lieve Me or not, I have converted your mentality and I will CAUSE you to believe Me. Then I Say, “We shall have a RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT universally, as I have it under My Personal Juris- diction and on My immediate Staff. There shall be no more divisions after-a-while among the people, be- cause I am getting at the root of corruption, the fount and the off- spring of it, and I AM ROOTING IT UP BY THE ROOTS. In its place. I have established RIGHT- EOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE, and all shall recognize it even as I have established it and heartily en- dorsed the legalizing of the same, that all might recognize the Pres- ence of GOD on Earth among men. PUTTING THE ISSUE THROUGH When this shall have been accom- plished among them, this World shall be the Kingdom of our GOD and His CHRIST. I need not go further at this juncture,,,abut, the Spirit of My Presence will be with. you, conquering and to conquer whithersoever you go. All you must needs do is to live Evangeli- cally and I will give you the Vic- tory over 3111 your difficulties. I WILL PUT THE ISSUETI-IROUGH for the MOUTH of GOD has Spo- ken it! _ In conclusion I would like to drop these Words for consideration. As I was Speaking this afternoon—- We came to lift up a Standard for humanity. We are talking about R-IGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE. Men are talking about their Constitutional rights, etc., but when they undermine the very foun- Tuesday, January 14th, 1936 dation of it, it is a matter of im- possibility for you to HAVE it. Namely:-—The question is always uppermostly in the consciousness of the people if there is an individual represented or called to their atten- tion——the question is, ‘What race is that person?’ That very prejudicial seed idea that has been implanted in the soil of the souls of millions, is robbing all humanity. It is, in- deed Wonderful! The very name color is 3. ROBBER, and if you newspapers will use color in your articles again, you are ROBERS! (FATHER emphasized the with a leap that brought every lis- tener to his feet.) PREJUDICE A ROBBER PEACE EVERYONE! Now the question may come, ‘How can the name of color be a R-OBBER?’ It ROBS you of your moral, Constitu- tional, and social rights-especially if they name you by color after the name of the nationality or people that you commonly call ‘n-e-g-r—o.’ (Again a mighty Demonstration took place.) PEACE EVERYONE! As in the City of Brotherly Love a year or‘so ago, I came not only to bruise the _head of the serpent PREJUDICE, but I came to CRUSH -“it and CUT it OF. I need not go further, I will tell you’ more tomorrow. !When you, as little clffidren, grown-ups, or what not, sign "your names and endorse yourselves as a certain color, you are signing away your BIRTH- RIGHTS! It is indeed Wonderful! (As FATHER leaped several times, another great demonstration took place.) PEACE EVERYONE! Just one more Thought! There are so- called ‘so-and—so’ professionals, in- teiligent and professional from eve- ry expression, but by the name of , being termed a ‘so-and-so,’ better known by your human intelligence as ‘N-E-G—R—:O-E-S,’ it lowers your standard and degrades you as pro- fessionals, and robs you of your Constitutional rights. If you t are elected to Office you will not get; the salary that another one will get’. _ What is that doing but ROBBING you and SPOILING you as Said the Scripture. ' Page 20 The “SPOKEN WORD” J Tuesday, January 14_th,.1936- Highlights of International Righteous Government Convention -‘New York City, January, 10th, 11:12, 12th, 1936, A.D.F.D. Friday, Jan. 11: During the week prior to the open- ing‘ of the INTERNATIONAL RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT CON- VENTION of the FATHER DIVINE’S PEACE MISSION MOVEMENT, in New York City. Delegates and in- terested’ Co-workers were arriving from most of the States in the Union and from many countries over-seas. There was an air of expectancy manifested on all sides, for the masses have been patiently waiting for a spirit of mass action that might result in genuine benefit and bring about true equality. The remedy sug- gested by FATHER DIVINE in ma- ' ny of HIS Messages in the past year is equal opportunity, or, share the opportunity, and from all indications this Wonderful sentiment will take concrete form before the Convention closes. I ‘Crowds began gathering early in the day at the Rockland Palace. A business session in the late morning officially opened the Convention and at 2:00 o’clock the main floor and balconies began to be filled. This session was opened by Mr. Madi- son, who read a telegram from Gov. Harold Hoffman of New Jersey expressing his regrets at his inability to attend the Convention. A confused world would have been blessed beyond degrees to have wit- nessed the spirit of joy and mer- riness that was evidenced on all sides. This session continued unin- terrupted until about 11:30 in the evening. A most outstanding feature was a resolution which was inspired by the speech of Mr. John Roineprecently 1 returned from abroad, who declared his conviction to be that FATHER DIVINE is GOD. This was answered by unanimous acclaimation with a sincerity which is seldom seen and never‘ equaled in meetings that it has been the writer’s privilege to attend. A motion was approved unanimously that Mr. Roine was to ‘ act as European Representative on the Righteous Government board for the next four years. To tell the readers of The Spoken I Word the Whole story is impossible, but we can say that if the first day of the Convention is a. criterion of what will follow, history is in the making. ‘ There were so many people who were willing to express both in short talks, testimonies or songs, that it would have required many days to have given all an opportuni- ty of expression. A superabundance of talent in the way of songs and instrumental music made the Con- vention most interesting every mo- ment. Angelic choruses a'nd Holy City Quartets and a Celestial Choir thrilled the listeners, as did many others that we have not space enough to mention. An outstanding speaker was Mr. Howe, Leader of the Fusion Party of New York ‘City, who deplored the lack of peace. Since the last war, he stated, he has talked to a great many individuals but has never found anyone who could give an in- telligent reason for the World War or any definite information as to how many billions of dollars it cost. When he was in France, he added, and saw it himself, he was ashamed of the human race. It was a very powerful and effective speech. He steered clear of politics. Responding to the spirit of Mr. Howe’s address, Mr. Madison asked if they would like to endorse the sentiment of peace expressed by Mr. Howe. He put the question in a very‘ unique way, stating that all those in favor would please say “PEACE.” The response was so spontaneous and uniamous there was no necessity of putting the question on the ‘negative side. Oth/3r' noteworthy speakers in- clud 01: Paul Christian, Captain Bloo er, Att. Myles A. Paige of the joint conference against discrimina- tion practises, Miss Lual Spence of Teachers Union, Elmer Lee, M. D., and many Righteous Government Forum ’Workers from outside the City. The great event of the session, "however, was the Message given by FATHER DIVINE, Which’ is beyond the expression of words. We trust that this Message will be given to the world in this or other issues of” The Spoken Word. - . The writer, like the thousands of. others," is in happy anticipation of the happenings of tomorrow. Divine Youth Confer- ence New Star Casino, Saturday, Jan. 11. The expression of F.ATHER’»S‘ Spirit through the Divine Youth as- sembled in their own Divine Youth Conference at the New Star Casino, 107th Street and Park Avenue as a feature of the second day of the three day International Righteous Government Convention was marvel- ous to behold. Delegations continued to arrive until late in the afternoon of the Conference. Many states as far away as Georgia and California, and foreign countries were represented as well as Canada. Bombay Frank, representing India was the oldest youth present, being a mere hundred and seven, years of age. The early session was for the little angels. Choruses and groups at’ times crowded the large platform. The first speaker on the after- n'oon session was Miss Judith Smith of Columbia University who spoke to the youth on the attainments and objectives of organized youth and es- pecially the activities of the student movements in striking for peace. Expressions came forth in songs and short talks on various subjects in which youth are interested by re- presentatives of different delega- tions. .. Mr. Seth Noah, of Vocational Group; Mr. Alexander of the Friends of Soviet In-iion; Mr. Paul ‘Christian; Dr. Sunshine; Mr. Alston of the Young Communist League~a.nd_ Mr. Reimers from the Children’s Federa- ~tion were invited speakers. Mr. Mark McCluksy, National Youth Adminis- trator for New York was the fea- tured speaker of the "afternoon. He Tuesday, January ],4th, 1936 r The “SPOKEN WORD” ‘ Page 21 spoke of the 16,000 opportunities available for youth but the voiced sentiment of the youth assembled was for many times more and better opportunities than the Youth Ad- ministration offers. FATHER spoke strongly against thoughts and acts of discrimination . and segregation. He transmitted His Spirit in powerful charges to the youthful followers and the little angels. The demonstration was such as many had never seen. Many choruses and programs from various nearby cities such as New- ark, Brooklyn, New Brunswick, and more distant cities as well as ‘Tia Junior band from Jamaica helped to enliven the program. The spontaneous theme_song for the occasion which precipitated a spiritual vibration which went. very -high was one’ with words about “FATHER has turned us round and round,” to the tune of “The Music Goes Round and Round.” ‘ In order that all who had fea_ tures for the program would get a chance to appear at the end of the evening session, which was on the subject of Peace, all of those who had not been able to appear were ~ called to the platformand they sang an ensemble 'together. Br-other Seth Noahfs inspiration on the subject of Peace was as fol- lows: P—raise E—terna1 A-lmightyv C—hrist E_verlasting1y. Rockland Palace Saturday Afternoon and Evening, January 11th, 1936, A.D.F.D. The ever increasing enthusiasm which resulted from GOD’S Gift to HIS Children in the INTERNA- TIONALI RIGHTEOUS GOVERN- MENT CONVENTION ran so high on Friday that it was found neces- sary to have two places to express on Saturday. While the Youth ‘Con- ference was going on at the New Star Casino, a similar program was being conducted at Rockland Palace by the grown-ups. It is worthy of note that there was so much inspi- ration and so many willing workers as a result of this history making event, that only a sinalljportion of those who desired to express could be heard. The feature of the Session was the reading of various Resolutions by Mr. Kranzler which were unaimous- ly adopted by the assembly.’ It is expected that a more detailed report of the Resolutions adopted will be printed in a later issue of The Spoken Word. Mr. Levy of‘ the Evening Schools» in a stirring address described the wonderful work FATHER has done in bringing the children to be edu- cated, and this includes classes es- pecially for women. Judge Oberwager also bore testi- mony of the great work of FATHER DIVINE. He stated among other things that “There can be no RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT any- where in the world unless there is absolute and profound freedom of expression.” An interesting view from’ the Platform was the banners carried by delegations, among which were: FATHER is the Light of the World Peace Mission Victoria, B. C. . - R‘: S: * FATHER DIVINE IS GOD Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 55 ‘»'.< * PEACE Chicago——THANK YOU FATHER >2= >24 >2: Members of the various depart- ments of the RIGHTEOUS GOV- ERNMENT FORUM at New York City spoke, and the Convention was blessed with a variety of musical numbers and songs. Mr. Dixon, Candidate and Leader of the Democratic Ticket 19th As- sembly District, recommended the RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT ‘MOVEMENT of FATHER DIVINE and expressed his appreciation say- ing: “Truth and Justice shall pre- vail in the hearts and minds of wo- men and men.” He further added, “So long as the hearts and minds’ of the people shall be corruptible, the principles of our Government shall be unsafe and unsound. Other speakers were Mr. George Harris of the New York News, Mr. Paul ‘Christian and Mr. A. Honaeel, Editor of The Spoken Word. The big event, as hoped for by the auclience assembled in an audi- torium packecl to standing room, was the Message of FATHER DIVINE, always dynamic, uplifting and ben- eficial. The Session closed at about eleven o’clock with the anticipation of the great event of tomorrow. St. Nicholas Palace Sunday, January 12th, 1936 Highlights of the Sunday Program -which was so crowded with remark- able and historic incidents were many but only the following few can be recorded in this space: Mr. Kranzler in his own inimit- able way of confiding to the micro- phone acted as master of ceremonies most of the day. March of Time with sound films arrived in the afternoon shortly af- ter FATHER had taken His seat at the platform and made recordings and pictures of most of the interest- ing events of the afternoon and evening including many varied shots of FATHER. Several other cameras including Mr. John Hunt’s were on the job. FATHER asked that white handkerchiefs only be used to re- present the Spirit of Peace. Mr. Madison, the chairman of the ‘ Executive Committee, in explaining the platform said that we are not trying to establish a party, but that . we are behind the part that is right- eous, true and just. Mr. Rose Humble arrived in New York about five A.M. on Sunday and was one of the featured speak- ers fin the late afternoon as was Faithful Mary whose dramatic tes- timony is ever new. A Court Commissioner in New Jersey who was, elected to an over- whelming plurality of forty-thousand votes through his contact with FA- THER DIVINE spoke most enthu- siasticly about the movement. Many prominent speakers were present including Mr. James Ford, former vice presidential candidate on the Communist Party ticket and Mr.- Robert Minor, former national can- didate on the same ticket spoke dynamically on the stand against discrimination and segregation . and for peace. They considered the Su- preme Court had taken away ben—. efits to the .f<’:L1‘l‘l‘lel’_S and laboring classes causing serious loss with-_, K out providing anything in the place . . Page 22 9f the blessings of the AAA. He states this seriously handicaps the workers and stops any such benefi- cial legislation. A_ , One of the featured speakers of .the evening was Mr. Frank J. David, Associate Editor of the ‘Spoken’ Word, whose address and enthusi- asm raised the vibration until it re- sembled that which goes on con- tinually in the Headquarters of FA- M THER DIVINE. Mr. David introduc- ed a resolution, or a point which might have been included in the re- solutions, that if the attorneys and - lawyers of thisnation who are veiled by society, which includes churches and educational system, want to do ‘something in the name of Righteous- _ ness, Justice and Truth, let them in all decency and respectability adopt a resolution through the American Bar Association that they will dis- bar any lawyer who will help any- one to evade or hide back of'the » law while they steal from the United States Government and others through tax evasion and through the financial chicanery of our legalized pirates who have been all these years robbing you and me and hid- ing behindthe law with the appa- rent approval of society which in- cludes churches. Alderman Fairchild exhibited some -posters showing the Russians haul- ing' away an image or statue of Christ in a wheel barrow and.cast- ing another in a gutter as a symbol of casting out an imaginary unpro- fitable and abstract GOD from the sky," and casting down the su- perstitious, impractical religions based on capitalistic greed which has .to be supported by the people. Evi- dently Mr. Fairchild intended to cast ‘ reflection upon the attitude of Com- munists who have shown more ardor .. in cooperating with FATHER D_I- 'VINE’S movement than any other political party but he only succeeded in casting reflection upon himself ~ because H the assembled representa- ‘tives were highly. amused at his ef- forts. The followers of FATHER DIVINE later at the banquet table, heard FATHER explain that He also was casting down, the superstitions about an abstract GOD ‘ up in the. sky and trying to get the people to — believe in a tangiblated GOD in bo- any form ‘on ' th_‘ef material plane,- ; 1;.‘ He ask_ed,His followers if. they ‘ ' therefore ' The “SPOKEN VVORD” believed in such an abstract, im- practical concept of GOD somewhere beyond the sky they shouted ‘No very loudly in reply. ‘ At nine thirty FATHER went on the air over’ Station WBHI for an hour. The program opened by the delegates singing “WE Shall. Have A Righteous Government.” FATHER spoke a few minutes and gave way for Miss Peace to read from the In- ternational Righteous Government Platform for about forty minutes. V Mr. Krantzler made some announce- ments and FATHER spoke a few words after -Lieutenant Battle, re- presenting the Police Commisioner welcomed and complimented _the Convention on its order, peace, right- eousness Arthur Madison made a few clos- ing remarks followed by FATHER. The first reading of the Platform in its entirity in the afternoon was by Mr. Lamb. During FATHER’S main address the assembled conven- tion instantaneously and unanimous- ly leaped to their feet with a spontaneous suddenness of affirma- tion when FATHER asked them if they would endorse the platform in its entirety. ' The banquet in the hall below seat- ed more than two hundred and fifty people and sound films of the. abun- dant words and blessings of FA- THER to his children were recorded. In the midst of the Demonstration FATHER again came forward to the «Speaker’s Desk to Say:——“All white handker- chiefs representing the Spirit of Peace, please. Do not use colored handkerchiefs. White handkerchiefs represent the Spirit of Peace, the Spirit of our Movement. Sing on.”) (The Singing continued and the cameras recorded, as the Afternoon Program came to an end the Eve- ning Program began.) “Why Not” The late Speaker .Rainey said on a nation wide radio hook-up a short time before the opening of Congress in 1934, that “Communism was.bet- . ter than State Capitalism and that Russia should have been recognized by our Government long ago. ‘Some- timelater a noted world traveler and observer addressing The New York Advertising Club for the fourth time, which the announcer stated was the only man to have had that honor. This traveler, H. B. Colburn, said that no matter what they read or heard that Rus- sia was forging ahead and that propaganda had blinded and preju- diced us against Russia and that there was about $150,000,000_of Russians trade that we -should be getting. No, I am not a Commu- nist; neither were these men I have quoted. Now then, Capitalism has both the Republican and Democratic Parties in its fond embrace. Every organization in this country that tries to take off the top and put on the bottom is called radical, etc., but in the late Speaker Rainey’s Page 28 , address he stated that is what the New Deal intends to do. The time has now arrived when a few have the wealth and resources of this nation, the richest on earth. This was predicted by Abraham Lincoln. We have millions next door to star- vation not to mention the under nourished, etc. When we have an abundance for all of our citizens if we only had a, Righteous Govern- ment of the People fortthe People and by the People. The great Lin- coln used this phrase and meant it, but since then it has been de- secrated by thousands of corrupt politicians, who used the phrase to fool the voters and lend color to their speeches. Now then, will our masses have to suffer another four years? Not if some of our leaders will sacrifice their personal ambi- tions for the ‘Fatherhood’ of G-OD and the Brotherhood of Man. These with their following could unite on the plane of enlightened understand- ing and Brotherly Love and form a third party quickly, and with cour- age, unity and self-sacrific-e can carry a full ticket of The Farm and Labor Party to victory this year’ and in so doing accomplish that which cannot be measured money. I will name them. Oh, G«O'D, may these leaders and groups hear the cry of thy distressed and stricken children. May they forget all but Their GOD and duty to the suffering ,masses of this great na- tion. Here are those that can se- cure The Victory. FATHER DI- VINE, Dr. Townsend, Father Cough- lin, Governor Floyd B. Olson, Up- ton Sinclair, Utopians, Mr. Lewis with the left wing of the A.F.L., U.:S. ‘Senator Burtion, K. Wheeler and last but not least, the Commu- nists. I belong to FATHER DI- VINE’S Righteous Government For- um in Los Angeles. V If these Leaders and groups would meet one. plane. of Love, Self-sacrifice, Tolerance, Unselfish- ness and Courage with Righteous- ness, Justice and Truth as the "standard for the New Party, v then the people would carry» the New Party to victory on a landslide, and GOD‘Alon-e Shall Reign. , I THANK YOU FATHER. (“Peace FATHER DEAR!” greet- ed the Assembly.) RIGHTEOUSNESSY JUSTICE and TRUTH, with hearts filled with MERRINESS, your bodies express- ing enthusiams for the recognition and the realization of GOD’S PRES-‘ ENCE as a Living Reality. This has been ESTABLISHED individually and collectively in millions, but it shall be ESTABLISHED Universally through legality that all might real- ize the LEGITIMACY of GOD, as Well as the legitimacy of unright- eousness, debauchery and falsity. ' Tim DEAN OF THE UNIVERSE Because of this, I came, and for the very purpose I" stand, to bring about the RIGHTEOUS GOVERN- ment, not only in the hearts and lives, but in the affairs of the child- ren of men, that we might fulfil The “SPOKEN WORD”H that of which we sung just a little while ago. “We have HEAVEN on Earth, for we have nowhere else to go.” Now isn’t that wonderful? (“Truly Wonderful!” acknowledged the As- sembly.) While listening t6‘ the songs of Praise, MY Thought_ran for consid- eration, how mankind through the ignorance of the superstitious and prejudiced teachers. and educators, have caused you to live in ignor- ance and stupidity, through your early existence up until this present time.’ Truly might have one declared, “The DEAN of the Universe” is a reality, for in RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and Justice “the DEAN of the Universe” shall be established, and mankind ‘shall realize GOD deals in the affairs of men, and none can hinder HIM. A GOD AT HAND You are /no longer walking in darkness, no longer walking in ig- norance, no longer subject to the so- called intelligent Religious super- stition, but we are living in the ac- tual PRESENCE of the ALMIGH- TY, and this according to the Scripture, and also Evangelical. Is it not written in your Scripture, “GOD is not a GOD afar off, but GOD is a GOD at hand?” Why be- lieve in something mysterious? Why believe in something that they claim could save you after passing from this existence, and keep you living in poverty,‘ debauchery, lacks, wants and limitations while on this Earth you are tabernacling, but I have come to LIFT you. I shall not only LIFT you as My true Believers, but I shall LIFT all humanity from all superstition and cause them to for- get all about that imaginary HEAVEN, because that imaginary Heaven, I AM now eradicating and dispelling from the consciousness of the people. FIRST HEAVEN DISAPPEARING . . ‘The Prophet predicted this very Dispensation, and this very Adminis- tration that I AM now expressing. Now isn’t that wonderful? (‘Truly wonderful!” responded a myriad of‘ voices.) He, declared through the prophecy as he was inspired by the Spirit within him, “the first Heaven / Tuesday, January 14th,.» 1936 I- .shall not be called to mind any-I V. O more.” I AM eradicating it‘ from, your consideration. I AM dispelling it in your mind. As light dispels, darkness, so shall the Light of this Understanding and GOD’S OMNIS-_« CIENCE inspired you, and all the children of this people.- I AM dis- pelling your superstition and your human ignorance, as is called “hu- man intelligence.” Then I say, RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH, and JUSTICE, these qualities I shall cause to become to be a Living Reality. I shall cause them to be established through legality, although it is true according to the Script-’ ure, JESUS as a Person, the Per- sonification of GOD, in His Dispen- sation came, as one out of wed- lock. He came as an illegitimate child, but I shall bring the identical LIFE and TEACHING through legitimacy, and cause it to be RIGHTEOUS- NESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE, and establish it through legality. ONLY ONE RACE It is written of ME: “He shall ‘ magnify the Law and make it honor- able.” Now aren't you glad‘? (“So glad,” rang back the multitude.) Then I say," RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE for all of the Educational Department of this PEACE MISSION MOVEMENT, as well as for those who are of the Political Department. Now isn’t that wonderful? I believe the majority of these students—-in other words, these pu- pils understand one of the first essentials for them to know, and for them to learn is, of what race are they. Now, what race are you? (“None!” shouted an assembly of children.) We came to teach the Educators WISDOM. Through pre- judice and *-(through bigotry, they have kept yofi bound in ignorance,’ ‘G causing you to believe that you are some race, creed or color, causing you to believe ‘especially in some race that they called you. There is no such a thing as what they call a “Colored race.” There is no such a thing as what they call a capital “Negro” race. We are here to LIFT you out of the ruts and mirks . and mires of human superstitions and from your human stupidity, that you’ might live and revel in the r glorious liberty of the Sons of GOD A from whence you have been driven. /E -L y~_., Tuesday, January 14th, 1936 A Why is it they call ME, because of MY _Personal ,Appearance, some special race‘? It is because -of that ‘prejudicial seed idea implanted in the soil of the Souls of the prejudic- .ed people. They strive to keep you down, but ‘by, the Grace of MY ' YPRESENCE, Iehave lifted you. Why .is it, you have been branded as mules from the forest, by a vulgar _name? It is because of that desire to make merchandise of you—to ’1owe‘1--rate you,‘ that you might be more lower-rated than the other fel- low. When and wheresoever they can lower-rate you, they will rob you out of your daily salary. They will rob you out of your equal op- portunities, but‘ I, GOD have come. (Great applause.) I came that each! ‘and every individual might have RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and _ JUSTICE, and might have equal op- portunities, by . striking from the books, every prejudiced segregated word, and every segregated name of which you have been called; .A SWIFT WITNESS I ..,. 2 and in t It has‘been, used asa curse for the children of men, to keep ‘them 7_in» slavery and bondage otherwise, .e _, _ limitations, ; lacks and’ wants, I came in the fulfilment of that which was spoken by the mouth -jjof, Isaiah the Prophet, saying: “I I ';_will be a swift witness against those that“ oppress the widowand the fa- ‘itjherless, the‘ hireling in.‘ his wages, and will ’ -A not come nigh .ME to judgment,” ‘I can see mankind from ? jjyour earliest existence, has been op- ," ~ pressing you, and you are robbed and ‘spoiled, as said the Scripture. T fiYou are oppressed by the oppressorsv and segregated by the segregators. You are mistreated by the mistreat- ers, and you are kept down for the lack of‘ the understanding of GOD " in yourselves, but I came to LIFT you from the earth. I havelong’ _since_said by a com- . position for consideration, not only for a consideration,’ but for the re- incarnation of every true Believer, ' I-that they all might, conceive it, and V e.:be' the Reflectors and .Manifestors, N ‘of it. I said: “I will preach‘CI-IRIST in Words, but more so in deeds" and in ac- ’ tions: I" will‘ put_MY Spirit in them, and cause them ‘to ‘walk in MY STATUTES.” _‘ 7 ’ wt The “SPOKEN wean». GOD IN YOU THE VICTORY . If you will allow ME to, I will make you the head and not the tail. I willficause the people of the Earth - to marvel at the actual PRESENCE of GOD within you, and the VIC?-. TORY you will have over * limita- tions, lacks and wants and adverse and undesirable conditions, for ‘GOD in you transmittingly, will be the VICTORY. Oh! it is a privilege to live in the actual PRESENCE of GOD, where -GOD has actually HIMSELF for one‘ and all, that they all might re-personify the actual -PRESENCE of GOD, with His WIS- DOM, KNOWLEDGE and UNDER- STANDING and His SUPREMACY expressed in the midst of the con- gregation of men. Then I say, Ibe- lieve there is a little Temple in the midst of this group here, this Even- ting, who can tell ME really, what race he or she belongs to. (‘None," shouted a great many of the child- ren, while others conceived the real ’ significance of ‘FATHER-'s statement, and answered, 4‘One race FATHER Dear.” .It is indeed wonderful! T If there is any race at all, there is but one race in your considera- tion. Through. your condescension to the Earth Plane of thinking, you can only observe one race, and that is thehuman race. This of course is a condescension. I will cause you to condescend to the Earth Plane of thinking, for consideration, for the education of the Educators, that they might learn WISDOM through i you, as it is written; “A little child shall lead them.” Jot these thoughts down in your memory. Remember the Ever-PRES- ENCE of GOD, as a Living Reality, and not something as mystical and be REAL, TANGIBLE and 1?RAC- TICAL in you, HE has been es- tablished once and forever. I thank you. (‘Continued applause’ from the appreciative audience, suggested a few more words from the LORD.) * * * RESOLUTIONS , WE DO HEREBY THIS DAY,_ TAKE a STAND in opposition to every prejudiced word to be used .aI!1..ong‘ the Nations, and especial‘. I “tangibilated” ‘ ‘ Jews _ pg -5. ._t' Page?! among the pupils of oifi‘ schools of education. " A WE DO HEREBY TAKE 3. STAND in opposition to every prej- udiced and segregated word . . . . Get at the cause, and eradicate it, and the effect will wane of its own abnormal weight. Just think of the millions of do}.- lars, which those who are common- ly known, as then prejudiced people call as “Colored” have been robbed out of, because of the name “color- ed.” They have been robbed out of ‘their equal opportunities. They have been robbed out of jobs and posi- tions. They have been robbed out of salaries, and they have been robbed out of professions, and inven- tions. (A great shout in confirma- 1 tion of this fact, was heard). ROBBED WITH THE ‘LAW Now which is the worse, to rob , you without the law‘ or to ‘rob you . withthe Law? They have used le- gality and the Educational world to ‘ rob those whomthey call Jewsand Negroes. I mean whom they call and Negroes (Negroes—- FATHER spelled out the word). They have used legality and educa- tion to rob you out of your real, legal and rightful inheritance. Then, why talk about the bandits who will ‘ hold you up and rob you Without the law? Jot these thoughts down in your ,. vocabularies, and establish them in your memory, for the next Genera- tion shall be ‘educated by the Spirit of IVIYSPRESENCHE, from the Fount of MY OWN OMNISCIENCE. Oh! it is a privilege to live in the actual PRESENCE of GOD and know A it. RESOLUTION CONTINUED This day, We DO further HERE- BY AGREE for this RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT CONVENTION as Inter- National, Inter-Denominatiom al,’ Inter-Racial and non-partisan, we this day, shall agree to, now, henceforth and forever, never to call ourselves by a racial color . . . . . Every Law that is set forth under the Constitution men, and ‘enforce its ability or power to cause you to go by the name of a co1or,’as though a race, _ e. such ‘law shall be refuted. We shall that shall force . Page 28 make them non-legal, for if they be legal, they shall be broken, if they are not according to the Constitu- tion of the Government in which we are living. 9' :5: Now isn’t that wonderful? (“Tru- ly wonderful!” exclaimed the Hear- ers.) These thoughts should be ES- TABLISHED in your minds. If perchance, it is necessary in sign- ing legal papers, to give what Na- tionality you are, if you are Ameri- cans you can say “American.” If they do not accept of it, we will not stoop to the stupidity of that prej- udicial idea. You could be, and can be classed as “American” if you are American-born citizens, without re- gard to race, as is commonly known as race, creed or color. You are sup- posed to be Expressers of non- partisanism and non-sectarianism, and you are supposed to be non- racial, after the manner of the five races, as they are commonly known by history. Now isn’t that wonder» ful‘? Then I say, this RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT EDUCATIONAL DEPARTMENT, is to teach the younger people, as they may be termed, an Education, such as the Educators have’ forbid, and have striven to prohibit them from know- ing concerning themselves and others, that they might keep them in the dark, and in lacks and wants and limitations, continue to rob them of their equal opportunities, and lower- rate them,by calling them some name, and race, and get them to endorse such a thing. CHILDREN OF GOD In conclusion, I would like to say, this - INTERNATIONAL EOUS GOVERNMENT CONVEN- TNON, has been called for the spe- cific purpose of bringing all of the Representatives—as many as pos- sible, together, from all Countries_ and from all parts of this Country, that we might impart to them our Stand, with or without a person- what we will stand for, if it costs the sacrifice of our physical lives, for’ the least little child shall be seen and known as a child of GOD, and nothing less. Get at the cause and eradicate it --dispel it, the effect will wane of its own abnormal weight. There is no need to talk about segregation RIGHT-" and the discrimination among the The “SPOKEN VVORD” people, so long as you are segregated in words, deeds and actions, for the very words you speak, and the words you convey to others, they are contagious, and they are operative and “functionable.” They will take form as you speak them into action, the same as I have spoken into ac- tuality MY Thoughts to the masses. They have conceived them, for they are contagious. You will think right, ,you will do right; you will be right, and you will live right, you will stand for RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE. You will not seek any other, saving that and this which stands firmly for the FUN- DAMENTAL which I AM advocat- ting. . I felt justified, and much impress- ed to speak along this line to the pupils of Our MOVEMENT, es- pecially those who are represented in this especial Assembly, because I desire them to know in the begin- ning of their educational career, that there is something greater and much better for them, been for the past Generations, where the so-called‘ Educators were segre- gated in words, deeds and actions, by their phrases and expressions which they used, therefore, they set themselves apart, and lower-rated themeslevs by calling you some special lower-rated race, as they are termed to be. VICTORY OVER THE GRAVE Oh! it is a privilege to realize GOD in the midst of them, is MIGH- TY to save. HE has brought you the VICTORY, not only over these limitations, as they have been term- ed, such as segregation and these mortal discriminations and limited expressions wherein you were ex- pressing, but HE has brought you the VICTORY over the grave. While speaking just a moment ago, MY‘ Thought ran to what has been said by many of those who have been interested to know con- cerning MY MOVEMENT, as it was mentioned in the Address last Even- ing,—., in other words, concerning Last evening, the gathering of the people, in the expression. It seemed to con- vey-in other words, they seem to convey, through the press, the thought that these MY Followers were very limited in The Rockland Palace yesterday. I just wish to say, than has . Tuesday, January 14th; V1936 in the Evening the Auditorium was - filled to capacity. When I first en- terel this Auditorium, MY INFINITENESS, there were many vacant seats in the rear, but now this Auditorium is nearly filled I 'U to capacity. (‘It is true FATHER Dear,“ corroborated the people.) The Spirit of MY PRESENCE and the PRESENCE of MY SPIRIT, with all of its MAGNETICNESS, from MY INFINITENESS, can and Will at-’ tract them'and draw them to ME. They are still entering this Building. _ They are coming in now. MY SPIR- IT will draw them in, for it has long since been said, and I verify the same. . COMING FROM EVERY zSIDE - “And I, if I be LIFTED up from the Earth, I shall draw all men unto ME.” Now do you not see them coming —coming from every side, because they realize GOD is a Living Reali- ty, for RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE, in’ this MOVEMENT, shall be. ESTABLISHED, and you all shall vote for it everywhere? Now isn’t that wonderful? (“Truly Won- derful!” assured the Hearers and Believers.) They shall not only vote for it, but while you are in school, and studying from an educational ' point of view, you are qualifying yourselves to meet the Literacy Test, and to pass it. When the time comes, if you are Twenty-one’ (21) or over, you willbbe able to go to the. Polls, and cast your Ballots in- telligently. I I mean to vote out every official whom we believe not to be ‘dealing justly-—every one whom we do not consider is a JUST and a RIGHT- EOUS official, whether he may be called Religious or non-Religious, it is immaterial to ME. I might like it better, if he is called an Atheist, if he will deal justly and judge the people with EQUITY unselfishly, non-partisanly and non—Religious1y, Iwill endorse him for. RIGHTEOUS- NESS sake, matters not what his profession as a party or a Religion may be. I thank you. The Song as recorded below, was sung, and while the audience ac- cepted the Recess, FATHER hurried away to The ROCKLAND PALACE, yvhere thousands had expected HIS COMING, and waited all day for same. It is needless to say, that the continued Program at the ROCK- LAND PALACE was equally as beautiful and as interesting as the afternoon Program had been at the above named Casino.) Those who recognize FATHER DIVINE as GOD Personified on earth do not take any orders from any organization or individual. The tide can never be turned amongst the followers of FATHER DIVINE, Y we are coming on to the victory with GOD. We have no hatred- only love in our hearts toward our brothers and sisters all "over the world and we are appealing to all of the nations throughout the world to stop wars an“d to unite in re- newed consecration to the principles of humanity, which are Righteous- ness, Justice and Truth, as pro- claimed by FATHER DIVINE——GOD ALMIGHTY. I thank you FATHER. Everything Hidden Shall Be Revealed A Senate investigation committee are interrogating Thomas W. Lam- ont, J. P. Morgan and Frank A. Vanderlip concerning the War Loans made to the allies in 1914. They have discovered that Woodrow Wil- son tacitly agreed to their doing business with France much to the displeasure of William Jennings ‘Bryan who was a member of the Cabinet at that time.” Mr. Morgan stated that it was not the thought of profit that in- duced them to negotiate these loans but to assist the allies to hold back Germany in their ruthless invasion of Belgium. These financial buzzards are at last going to have their wings clipped. It Won’t be long now. REVOLUTION COMING SOCIAL EXPERT WARNS John A. Kingsbury of New York, former director and executive officer of the Milbank‘ Memorial Fund, re- cently told the New State Confer- ence of Social Workers in Buffalo a revolution »in this country is sure to come unless unemployment is solved. He said he had come to this con- clusion after considering the trends of._ social work and that the only preventative is jobs. . The “SPOKEN WORD” Why Not? Suspicious criminal characters are often arrested without definite charges being made against them. Sometimes these characters are taken to “headquarters” and cross-' examined and even given the “third degree.” There are suspicious characters who are responsible for the appar- ent “depression” begause they were clever enough to steal that which" belongs to the people and avoid de- tection and apprehension. Why not give the questionable characters in big business a cross- examination and third degree? Per- haps a clew could thus be found as to where the money that was so abundantly flowing in 1929 has dis- appeared to. Who knows? HOOVER DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM IOKES Former President ‘Hoover has de- V manded an apology from the Sec- retary of the Interior, Ickes, for a statement made relative to the ex- President, that some of the laws passed under his administration were unconstitutional. Mr. Hoover points with pride to the fact that not one of the hundreds of acts passed while he was President were unconstitu- tional and he is proud of the fact that he acted to “protect the Consti- tution.-” The self-pride of Mr. Hoover is evident to the thinking public, or let us say, the masses. If _Mr. Hoover protected the Constitution, then the Constitution is apparently against the people, for during his adminis- tration there was little or no effort to promote the general welfare. Every intelligent thinker, regard- less of his party affiliation, knows that there is a remedy for the seem- ing ills of our present time, and that is the introduction to the polit- ical machinery of ‘Christ Conscious- ness, which is the Brotherhood of Man that has all things common and a genuine desire and intention to love his‘ neghbor as himself. The time is at hand whenno Pres- ident can be elected unless he is elected on a platform that does pro- vide for the general welfare, for we shall return to the principles em- modied in our Constitution.
