No matter what your category of work is you can become a person who wishes to identify with the move- ment for a peaceful transition to a utopian society. Students for a utopian society. artists for a utopian so- ciety, workers for a utopian society, all are united in the firm aspiration to see the world become more ecologi- cal and peaceful. People who aspire to mental and physical health for themselves are banding together to form local chapters of the UTOPIAN SOCIETY. No matter where you live. if mail reaches you, you can join the UTOPIAN SOCIETY. The headquarters for the UTOPIAN §OClETY is in San Francisco and the central group of artists and writers who publish the periodicals that are mailed to members is the STOREFRONT CLASSROOM FAMILY, a group of dedicated utopian test pilots. This group of people live together and emanate a steady stream of utopian theories and instructional material about utopian psychology. High school and colleges across the nation are establishing UTOPIAN SOCIETY chapters. Members have access to a weekly video- tape called, “BROTHER JUD IN UTOPlA." This videotape is supplied free of charge to classes who have signed up to help build a society of utopians. Utopians socialize with each other and will be a part of a national network linking up eco-village experiments. Students of utopian psychology will be studying TRIPLE THREE-POINT YOGA. an intellectual process to raise one's consciousness to the highest levels. Utopian con- sciousness is the ultimate consciousness and it rein- forces life with constant ioyousness and productivity. People who wish to be happy and healthy need a philosophy of life and they need the leisure to enioy recreation and relaxation. The utopian lifestyle offers such leisure. What is the utopian psychology definition of “gestalt”? A. “Gestalt" is used to indicate a complete situation as opposed to isolated parts of the situation. For instance, a situation in which two people meet each other and start a relationship is made up of much more than the obvious physical fact of their coming face to face. The gestalt interpretation of this situation would take into account such things as how the people met. where they met. what their individual intentions are. both conscious and subconscious. how they see themselves and each other. how they are each living. what other people they are currently involved with and what those involve- ments are like. what lifestyles they aspire to. what ideals they have or don't have. how they _ behave towards each other. and more. Probably of highest importance in this gestalt picture is the question of the underlying motivation of each person in the situation. This is why utopian psychology placessuch a high emphasis on future pos- sibilities: the gestalt picture is only complete when it is known where the relationship leads. In order to get beyond the surface of a given gestalt situation and find out what is really happening the “gestalt process" is used. This process enables people to see things objective- - ly instead of emotionally reacting or seeing things only as they have been conditioned to see them, In the gestaltprocess (also known as Gestalt-O—Rama) people who are friends and who think they want to develop continuing relationships with each other try to discuss all aspects of their situation. including the blocks they might have to building lasting friendships and the ideal way for such a lasting community of friends to ‘work. The process is highly verbal and all people have a duty to say what they think or feel at any time. They also must have a commitment to improving themselves if the process is to work. The purpose of the gestalt process is for each individual to become free of unhealthy habits. motives. attitudes and values and sustain a natural highness. Since this is a continuous process it goes on constantly and can only work if the underlying picture includes each person's having the desire to sustain the rela- tionships in the gestalt circle so that trust can be built.
