VAdopting most of the proposals submitted by the FATHER DI- VINE Peace Mission Movement and endorsed by FATHER DIVINE, the Resolutions Comittee presented probably the most pro- gressive and powerful platform ever considered and adopted by a‘ politi- cal party, to date. Naturally, the resolutions and the platform were unanimously accepted, but not un- til a heated discussion concerning the name of the party took place in which numerous members of Ea- the Divine’s Delegation entered the fray to change from the then, "All Harlem Party.” Pointing out that by using ,“l-lar- lem" the party would be limiting itself and segregating itself from the other boroughs and sections of New York, Mr. A. Honaeel, the edi- tor of the “Spoken Word,” moved to adopt as the name of this par- ty, a title" that would include all and exclude none, namely, “The All—People’,s Party." A ‘burst of ap- plause greeted tfhe motion, and it was carried by an overwhelming majorty. V I Among the resolutions adopted was an Anti-lynching Bill practical- ly identical to Father Divine’s; a bill to amend the immigration laws I the foreign born from civil rights in the U. 6.; and bills to drastically reduce the price of ccimvmodities and rent. .A Alarge delegation of Father . Daniels of Eagle Lake, Fla., Editor of the Bible ' Echo, brings out Valuable“ information through 4 numerous questions NTERVIEW WITH FATHER DI- VINE BY REV. E. J. DANIELS, EDITOR, THE BIBLICAL ECHO, EAGLE LAKE," FLA. Spreading * like wild-fire through the Land, and conveyed to the ends" of_ the Earth on the wings of Di- vine Power some years ago, went a Wonderful story from the lfittle Vil- lage of Sayville, Long Island. It was the story of Him ‘Who daily spread a. great Banquet Table and served all comers’ gratis, Teaching Truths that had been hid from the Sages; Healing the sick, Giving sight to the blind, and Raising the dead: and Doing it all -as a free gift, in the _ time of the greatest depression the *lvor1d has ever. known, yet refusing gifts, donations, or "iinancial sup- port gvof any kind, and‘ refraining from all publicity. ’ ' ' Even while the story was being told, many said within themselves, and some expressed it openly with- out seeing,—fWhy «this is the CHRIST, and" many were healed of supposedly in- curable diseases. Thousands, from all parts of ‘the world, on the other- hand, went to Sayville to see for themselves. and seeing they believed, and all their old lives of vice and crime. sorrow and worry, lacks, wants and limitations, fell away, and they becairne new creatiires, living in Heaven on Earth. Every honest investigator found the ‘story to be true, and the Name A of FAJEHER Drvmn, though it had ‘instantaneously ’ long been known to some, because a by-word, on every tongue. They saw Him sit and stand -at the Ban- quet Table from early’ morning un- til late at night, serving thousands free. Experts figured that in the "course of a. year‘ He must serve nearly a million meals, and this had been (going on for several years. Much -more than feeding five thousand once, as JESUS had done. He was feeding thousands daily, with unheard of Abundance that in- creased instead of decreased. ’ Itwas therefore easy for even the most skeptical to see that He was in a greater Degree than JE- SUS, and was no longer the Son but the FATHER. It came to the attention of many that in the Son- ship Degree He had Said the King- dom of Heaven would be like a man that spread agreat Supper, and al- so that when He came again on Earth, He would gird Himself and sit down and serve them, and the servants would be the guests at, the Banquet Table. This was exactly what they saw in Sayville. In fact, any part of the Gospel theycould think of, they saw fulfilled. before their eyes. Thousands had received the Wit- ness within, however, that He was GOD Almighty in Bodily Form. The thousands soon became millions; and every one of them Loved the Holy Body, of IFAT-‘HER 'D1'VINE, there: fore New York City became His Headquarters, to more easily ‘ac- commodate theni. Like 2. great 0011- " I Page '4 tagion, this recognition swept over the world, until _ today more than twenty-«two million in practically every Civilized Country in the world, have received this recognition, that FATHER DIVINE is GOD, and He is daily proving Himself to them to BE GOD. Naturally, Writers, Leaders, Teachers, Public Offici'als,'Politicians, and those of every walk of life, coming from all parts of the world, seek to interview FATHER from many different angles. It is impos- sible to accommodate all of them, but one of those favored recently, was Rev. E. J. Daniels, Editor of The Biblical Echo, Eagle Lake, Flo- rida, whose interview is recorded herewith for the instruction and in- formation of many: QUESTION by Interviewer:—‘How long has this work been going on FATHER DIVINE,——this Peace Movement, I believe that is what you term it, asta Peace Movement?’ ANSWER by FATHER:—“Yes, it ‘ is commonly known as FATHER. DI- VINE’»S PEACE MISSION MOVE— ' IVIENT.” QUESTION:——‘It has been going on for a good many years?’ ANSWER:——-“Yes.” QUESTION :—‘Well there is a .question,—of course it isn't vital,—— but I wondered how long, how it . came about that You had this Con- sciousnes of coming as the CHRIST. If I understand it correctly You be- lieve You are JESUS back in a New Dispensation to establish Your Gov- ernment of Righteousness and Peace. Is that correct?’ ANSWER:——“If you listen to the different testimonies you will get the Belief of the Masses. It isn’t so much’ what one may believe himself especially, , or what one may say whichever, but it is what one actual- " ly is. So I do not bear record of My- self as a rule according to the flesh, but as ‘the unfoldment of the Spir- it and the Work takes place in the lives and among the children of men, they usually observe it accord- ing to the way it is revealed to them. Of course it would be betterl think, if you would cover any of these Meetings, not so much for what I Say Personally especially, but what you would actually hear, see and know as facts that you can verify of what you have ‘experien- The “sroigniv wean” ced since coming in contact with , Me.” INTERVIEWER: \’ ‘Well that is my purpose in coming up here. I felt «that way, that the best knowl- edge I could get would be to come and see, because You know how it is, you can hardly hear anything iexactly right.’ FATHER:——“One thought as a rule, has somewhat come to be em- barrassing for the Reporters or Re- presentatives of the Papers as well as for Myself, if they follow ‘the general trend of thought concern- ing Me and My Mission. Firstly, I am Living in a World with the rec- ognition of the ALLNESS of .GOD and the nothingness of matter,— nothing less than the recognition of- one humanity.” ‘ INTERVIEWER:——‘Wel1, I believe in that.’ FATHER:——“One human race! But the average ‘ person they come in the very beginning, in the 0PP05ite- 'Dhey seek something to draw a line of demarcation’ apparently.” INTERVIEWER:-‘Yes, peoples.’ ~ - FATHER:-——“Yes, and when this is done“ it is an expression of segregation for the purpose of deterioration, for ‘the Pl11‘P°3e of deteriorating the general thoughts concerning the Message or the Work. For this cause I feel somewhat unconcerned at times to talk with the average person. 108- cause of such. I have ‘striven to re- frain from publicity for years and years, until it, just came up as an‘ issue apparently, after which I gave in and allowed Myself to be spoken of. I would give the Truth concern- ing the ‘Mystery and concerning the Work whichever, but the majority of the Writers endeavored to place some sort of an ;emb'arra-ssing ex- pression on the minds of the people concerning My Mission.” M INTERVIEWER:—‘I have read your Paper The ‘Spoken Word, and I agree with You on the color and creed, that certainly GOD could not be in any'race,—that I know. That is true, and I think You are right there. I also -agree in "that we need some radical change in our Govern- - ment. The present rule is not at all what I would ‘term to be Right- eous. I know it is not, because lin- godliness is trampant. I know that. between Tuesday, June 23rd,_ 1936 Of course if » You would rather that I cover that, —” —’ A FATI-IER:—“It is all right.” IN'I‘ERVIEWER:—‘Now the first time CI-IRIS'I‘ came in the. world, He came Born of a Virgin didn’t He. Now the second time You came, you came did You, through some medium as He did before, or was it a direct coming out of the Heavens? I have wonde-red about that.’ FATHER:——“Well all of these dif- ferent theories are the versions of men.” INTERVIEWER:—‘Yes, I under-. stand that.’ FATHER:—::Now one man’s ver- sion may be that CHRIST came as an illegitimate child.” INTERVIEWER:-——‘Of course we don't believe that,—-I don’t anyway.’ FATHER:—“Of course the Christ- ian world does not believe it, but the Jewish world they DO believe JESUS to have been an illegitimate ‘ child. But with Me, according to My Version, it would be immaterial to ‘Me whether He was What the people would call an illegitimate child ' or a. Holy Child, to Me He was GOD.” INTERVIEWER:——‘To me too!’ FATHER:—-—"So this belief would transcend the limited version of men. All of their versions, and theories "and doctrines, and ideas and opin- ions, could not change My Version concerning the CHRIIST as a Real- ity. Now GOD’S Condescension to come in the Name of JESU_S to the Earth plane, according to My Ver- sion, was merely a condescension, coming through the name of a Vir- gin. It was an expression of a con- descension for GOD -to come to the Earth plane and form Himself in the likeness of a man, but the average person would consider to some extent ,it was a great advent, which it was. But such could be more insignificantly expressed than that of coming through the Virgin. and yet produce the omnipotence of GOD more effectively and more con- vincingly by coming through even a ‘more insignificant state of expres- sion than that of the Virgin.’ ’ ‘ :———‘That -is true." FA'IlgI-I!ER:——"‘Il3‘ecause the less ._we are, if we can make ourselves some- thing after the manner of men,t’.-he greater win he the min-foldment of t-he perseverance of -the individual E :- 323rii..1i)ii8. aha the “ambition therof. So VVIE feel, the CHRIST if He would have “come even in a more insignificant and even in an immoral Way, ‘He , has proved Himself GOD, to raise Himself up to Perfection through the depths of immorality, through that which could or would ordinar- ily have been termed immorality. To bring the very ».'Spirit" of Modes-* ty and morality to Perfection it would take nothing less than GOD to accomplish such a miracle. See?” INTERVIEWER:—‘Tha.t’s true. I believe You there.’ ‘Now You be- lieve, or Your Version is that when CHRIST came first, He did die to Redeem men from their sins, and then went away, and has now come back to set up a Righteous Gov- ernment? That is the version by some.’ FA'I‘lHER:—“Well of course CHRIST "has never gone any place, aeicording to My Version.” INTE~RVIEW'ElR:——‘In other words He has always been here?’ 'FA'IiHER:—“Always been -here.” IN'I‘E:RVI-EVVIE—R:—“'Has He been here in the form of some man or in Spirit ’Foi~m.? What ‘is ‘Your Version?’ _FATHER:—“VV'e-ll of course with Me it is immaterial whether He would be in a Body or‘ out of a Body, as I make a. complete sur- render in the way of a self-deniaa and an open expression Of ignoring" My Body and ignoring all other bodies. As far as the unfoldment of the CHlRjDST is concerned, I know GOD is GOD with or with- out a Body, as I stress it in My Message.” I'NTERVIEWER:—‘I agree with You there, .it does not make any difference. I was just wondering though, regardless of how He has manifested Himself since the first ma5nifestatio'n we mentioned a mo-. ment ago and His later manifesta- tion which is now,——it does not matter about that,—but Your Ver- sion is that He has come back and manifested Himself through You to the world? That is Your Version?’ FATHER:4“Well He will mani- fest Himself through whomsoever He Wills.” . INTERVIEW:ER:—‘In other Words You b‘e1‘ieve,—‘——You don't believe that .'1‘5.Y17,,t.a..?‘Sl’.(;>.!.i.fl.‘é‘."—.‘,‘. wore» one person can become the CHRIST as much as anothé‘r,+or You?’ FATHER:——“Well of course such a version would be for the individ- ual person's consideration, although one may think‘ one way and an- other may think another. As the Apostle said on one occasion, ‘Let every man be persuaded by his own ‘opinions.’ We feel each person has a right to his own individual belief. While his belief may not be the identical, it may not be the Perfect version to bring about his highest unfoldment, we do believe each per- son should be governed by his or "her highest intuition or version.’ INTERVIEWER:—‘Well now I know that your Followers believe, and their version is, that FATHER DIVINE is GOD, and I believe I also remember reading in the Maga- zine, The Spoken Word, _where FA- THER DIVINE is JES‘-UlS {Himself come back to Reign and Rule. Now that is their version and that is Your Version also is it not?’ (FA- THER gave His interviewer one of those looks that might have con- veyed All Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding according to his Faith, but He did not ‘Speak. Then ,I—Iis questioner continue‘d:—)‘Now it may be that I don’t make myself clear.’ . FA"DHER:—“I Understand you, but you do not Understand Me. Now GOD, or C*.H~RI6ST is a Prin- ciple, as the principle of Mathe- matics. The principle of Mathema- tics is Incorruptible isn't it?” INTERVIEWER:—‘Yes, if’ I un- derstand what You mean, I think that is true.’ FA'ITI-llER:———"‘I mean to Say, the principle of Mathematics is some- thing as tspirit or Mind, impersonal but yet it is incarnated and rein- carnated in the lives of the children of men and they become to be Ma- thematicians do they not? The personification of Mathematics in an individual, it causes that person to be a «Mathematician. The rein- carnation of GOD brought to frui- tion will unfold the mystery equi- valeht-1y." INTERVIEWER:———"i1‘-hen of course now this may be my own limited mind that is past c‘o'mprehen*sion, but it is not possible for everyone ,Pas9 is it, to become the same as You FATHER DIVINE? Of course we can, I believe, become like Him, but at the same time take‘ this great multitude of Followers down here, it is impossible for them to have the same manifestation of C-‘r'O~D that You ‘believe You ‘have, isn’t that true? FA"l‘fHEVR:—-«“Wel1 it i not what I Believe. I am not stressing nor considering what I Believe.” INTERVIEWER :—‘In other words Your Message just refers or ex- presses what they believe about You, is that it?’ FATI-IE~R:—“It is not necessary for Me to consider what I Believe, for My Belief to another may pro- fit nothing, but their belief -to THEM,—acc'ording to their belief so be it unto them.” INTERVIEWER:—‘I see! And then not only so, but ‘their belief, their conception, expresses what You are and it is not necessary for You to express it. I believe that is the cor- rect interpretation of it.’ FATHER:-“Positively! I do not bear record of Myself as a Person.” INTERVIEWER:—‘In other words You naturally refrain from saying Personally that You are «the CHRIST .and JESUS in this new Manifesta- tion‘, because of the fact that You have all of these witnesses to bear record of it. Have I the correct idea there?’ FATHER:-—“I don't Ithinrk it is necessary. I would not mention es- pecially the President as the Chief Executive of our Country. Do We mention a policeman on the street corner? It is not necessary for him to say he is a policeman especially, when he is on duty «to perform his active duty with his uniform. They know who he is.” ,- I'NTERVIEWER:——‘I get Your Conception there, I can agree with that. In other words, the works manifest it. Now if You would rather not answer this, the Follow- e_rs may know. Of course this is my first day and I am planning to visit around for a. few days, but did You have a specific time for this new manifestation to become ‘CHRIST in the new manifestation, or was it a gradual gdevelopmenlt?’ FA'I‘I~IER:—«—“Well, suppose I would _ as you a. question ac.co‘rding to ‘ ‘ A your H version. the Spirit? . ‘Spirit?’ ,1;’#g‘e6o Now how do you consider the advent of the. «Spirit , " came into existence?” IN'I‘ERVIE.WER:——‘The advent of You mean the Holy FATHER:—“Yes.” INTERVIEWER:—-‘Well I believe this:‘ I believe that before Penltecost the Holy Spirit was in the world, ” but not in--' the fullness that it was at Pentecost. I believe that Pente- cost was thevstart of what I term the Dispensation of the Holy Spirit, GOD manifest in ‘Spirit Form, I be- lieve that Pentecost was the appear- ‘ing of that particular Dispensation i of the Spirit like Bethlehem was the beginning of ‘CHRIST’-S Work. Now my version is, it does not matter as to when or how GOD manifests Him- , self, so long as it is GOD, for after that particular Dispensation CHRIST will come back and will do, if I understand correctly, that which Your Followers believe You are do- Ring, and He will come back and set up a Righteous Government accord- ing to Isaiah and other places, and bring in a Reign of Righteousness, Justice and Peace.’ Now my version has been, accord- ing to the teachings ‘of the Bible that His Coming would be the same JESUS that went away, according to Aets, and that He would come back the same JESUS bodily, liter- ally, and that it would be a. sudden coming like His going away, and that He iwould come back and set up His Kingdom.’ ‘Now as to the method, how He would go about setting up His King- dom, of course You !know there are. many different versions. Of course I have felt or understood the Bible to teach that. He would Rule from Jerusalem. ,4-Now of course’ I am seeking, and that is the reason I came here to interview You. I would like. Your Views on that.’ ‘Of course I do agree with You in saying that we_ all, as far as that is concerned, when we come to the, real Truth, may be surprised to find how far we were from the . Truth.’ F'ATHER:—“Well what do you think about the twenty-first Chap-, ter of Revelation ?"’ Do you consider it to be a prophetic revelation?”, INTERVIEWE-R:——o‘Do 1 consider that to be prophetic . from the time The "SPOKEN WORD”' it was written? Yes, I feel that was prophetic, and I consider that to be the record‘ of the things that will happen on the Earth after this (Kingdom has come, You see.’ FATHER:——“Well now, if you will read. the first few verses,” —- - (handing him\ a Bible.) INTERVIEWER (Reading) :—‘And ' I saw a New Heaven and ’a New Earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.’ A ‘And I John saw the Holy City, .New Jerusalem, coming down from GOD out -of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.’ ‘ FATHER.:—“Now just that point, I‘ c-all your attention to that parti- cular quotation for the consider-__ ation of the mystery of His Ruling from Jerusalem. (I saw the Holy . City‘ and the NEW Jerusalem, com- ing down from Heaven.) . 1'NTERVIEWER:——‘Well now that has been my View Reverend Divine, and «that was to be during the first thousand year period of His Reign of Righteous Government over the Earth, but it would -be from Jeru- salem, You know as a literal place,‘, that He would Rule over the Earth and the Kingdoms of men. Then at the end of that ‘thousand years, this twenty-first Chapter jthen indicates what would happen. after the -CHRIST has delivered up the King- dom into the Hands of the FA- THER. Now You can -Say what You think about that version. That has been my version,-—this describes the condition after a thousand years of Reign, and in place of the old Jerusalem there was a New Jeru- salem, and a New Heaven and Earth, and then this would describe what happens throughout Eternity.’ ' FATHER: “There are different versions in the Scripture. I We find it quite diflicult for each and every- body to think the same until they come together in that recognition. Of ' course I delight in coming in con- tact with the different individuals. As I have often Said, if one can bring Me something more profound, more practical, more profitable, and more real and true for the spirit, body and soul here and now, and for the here- after, I would gladly endorse them and let My Version go.”» ‘."I‘hat is why I believe in meeting the’ different Representatit/ems of Reli- j ‘ I ‘Tuesday, June 2sn1,_-V1936: gion and coming in contact with, all of_ the different Religions from time to time. I have been coming in con- tact with the different Religions. from years and years back Personal- ly, while yet I do not bear recordof " Myself as a Person, saving as I am in contact with the different indi- viduals from time to time.” ‘ “Now I especially know, I have met quite a few of the high Teach- ers of Philosophy and psychology etc., ‘and I find there is something good in all of them. I endeavor to be as the little honey-bee, to get the good out of every seed or every flower. By so doing I have brought to the surface and into materialization ma- terially manifested, the good, and the substance, and the sustenance from the flowers, and from every other expression we may term in the parable as a flower or bloom." INTERVIEWER:~—‘And in this gathering of things together, You have become the CHRIST in the New Dispensation?-’ ‘ FATHER:-“Not so much of that, .—-not mentioning Myself but men- tioning the Principle of the expres- sion, the unfoldment, the unfoldment of what CHRIST brings within. I am not Speaking of‘ the gathering to- ’ gether of the sustenances of the dif- ferent expressions to make ME some- thing. Nothing ‘canpaddoto the Fun- damental, but these difierent sus- tenances gathered together as the substances from the flowers, all of the bees get together with all of these different substances from the different flowers, and other ways and means. They have to get the sub- stances from different objects and expressions of material things. Whether’ you recognize Me as a Man, or the Omnipotent, or what not, it is not so much that. I am not -stressing that. You see you have called My Attention to Myself more ithan I have. I have tried to get away from Myself as a Person, but I have stressed the mystery of these Say- ings and Works of the Spirit, and the Teaching of CHRIST as the Fundamental,‘ ‘the Principle of it don’t you see. You may not see Me in fifty years from now, or a hundred years from now, and I don't care if you do or I don't care if you don’t as far as I am Per- sonally concerned. Nevetheless if I meet you I may be glad to see you, but I mean as far as you especially attaching yourself to Me as a Per- son, The significance of My Mis- sion is that men will develop this Spirit of RIGI-ITEOU'SNESS,TRUTH and JUSTICE in them and transmit it or pass it on to others, that they might be partakers of it and rid the Earth of vice and crime, and de- bauchery of every kind.” IvNTERVIEWER:——‘Well now there is another question. I have noticed that You have rather turned away from, talking about’ Your Person, GOD will abundantly . The "sronnx WORD” which I think is very becoming and modest, but I. cannot help but be impressed with the fact that all this innumerable number~ of Followers worship You as GOD. You do not object to that?’ FATHER:——“I believe every per- son should be governed by his or her highest intuition, and if your highest inltuition through your Re- ligious conversion or conviction can and will, with the spirit of Sincer- ity, free you from sin, free you from committing adultery, free you from stealing, and even say free you from smoking cigarettes, as it does every one of My Followers who live according to My Teaching, then I Say Itheir Religious convictions are convincing and I would be worse than an impostor ‘ to endeavor to prevent them from having the Faith in that which will free them from such sins.” ' INTERVIEWER:—‘Well then I have noticed as You talked along, there are many of Your Views that are somewhat similar to some of the views held by our friends the Christ- ian Scientists. Have You made much of a study of Christian Scientists and their views, or have You as 3: h0I1e.Y"bee gathered out some of them, which You have included in Your particular view? _ FATHER:-—“Well yes, A know of -them. INTERVIEWER:—‘She from You as GOD.’ FATHER:—“Yes, that is the idea. Each individual believes he or she receives hers from some p1_a_,¢e, so long ‘as they are limited in Ithe cgn- caption concerning themselves. Hence got hers Tuesday, June 23rd, 1936 if a. person believe in ‘Mother Ed- dy’, naturally if he comes ‘in con- tact with Me he would think “Moth- er Eddy’ had something for Me.” INTERVIEWER:—‘Because she got hers from You ?" FATI-IEB:——“Well they would THINK she had something, or did have something for Me, or I had something from her. See? But with My Conception it is not a person or persons, or matter especially. With or without a person, GOD is a PRJINCIPLE, yet He is transmitt- ible.” INTERVIEWER:—‘But He is a ‘PERSON as well as a PRINC- IPLE?’ FATHER:-—“Yes He is a PRINC- IPLE and yet PERSONIFIED, «I am not denying it.”' , INTERVIEWER:—‘We11 You be-' lieve He is actually a PERSON al- so.’ FA'THER:—“I Say HE is a‘. Per- son, and yet Personifiable, and yet Persanified.” . INTERVIEWER:——‘Well couldn’t You Personify a Principle without that Principle being a person?’ FATHE-R:—“W'e:ll what is Per- sonification ? ” I INTERVIEWER:——‘Well that per- haps, is a hard question.’ FATHER:——“In‘ short, it is Per- sonalification. That is the signific- »ance of it, and when I Say the Prin- ciple of Mathematics personified is -a Mathematician, if you as a person U have incarnated the principle of Mathematics and brought it into your actions and into expression, you are a Mathematician, common- ly known from another version or another way of expression, you are an intelligent person. Not only the spirit or the mind in you, but you are the intelligent PERSON which you are, -physically. You are an in- telligent PERSON. You have in- carnated the intelligence through your studies through your educa- tional career, etc. You have brought intelligence to the degree where you are a person and an intelligent per- son. But if all of your inltelligence was withdrawn ‘from your mental- ity and your system, you would be an ignorant person the same as any other ignorant person would be you see. But the intelligence developed in a person, it causes that person to be the personification of it, and .by our living the igmmay, Juno ma, 1936 when he is the personification of in- telligence naturally He is an intel- ligent person.” “So it it with the Spirit of GOD, His Mission, His Work, and all of His Qualities,-—these Qualities are Personifiable, yet they are Invisible —-—and Impersonal, yet they "are Per- sonifiable. Now this is an expres- sion or an Attribuite we may term it to be, which is Personifiable. I am PEACEFUL because I have in- carnated PEACE, a Principle, and -brought it to fruition in My ex- pressions, KINDNESS, equivalently the same! RESPECTABLENE-SS, , equivalently the §ame in expression. All of these are parables, parably speaking of and through the world of Science, what I mean concerning GOD as we look further than those limited degrees of His Attributes.” INTERVIEWER:——‘Well I believe . I had one -thing,-——one question I Wanted to ask You. Now when CHRIST was first on Earth, the Bible I think clearly reveals that He came through the race known as the Jews, and there seems to be an indication that He would come back A as such. You believe the story that He, was Cruificied for our sins don’t You? FATHER:—“Yes. In a way, yes.” INTERVIEWE/R:——.—‘You believe that we are saved by the shedding of His Blood on the Cross, or rather Principle He t_a.ught.?’ I ‘ FATHER:———“Well by living the Principle He Taught, and by believ- ing in the Sacrifice He made on the Cross.” INTERVIEWER:-—"We1l that Sacri- fice was substitution for our sins, You believe that?’ FATHER»-“-Well it was the Sacrifice of the Life in the Individ- ual, in willingness ‘to obey the FA- i~‘HER." INTERVIEWER:—‘Well then what is Your Version or explanation that ‘You came the first time in Your .ver- sioii;— I don‘t know about Your Ver- sion‘ of .that,.—but we say the Jew- ish race; and now You have come through another race and the scars are not in Your Hands. What is Your interpretation of that?’ , A ‘ FATHER:—‘‘In GOD, there is nei- ther race, nor creed, nor color. This in‘. itself will eradicate and dispel completely from ‘our consideration The “SPOKEN WORD” the version of races in the beginning as well as in the end.” I INTERVIEWER: ‘You believe then that when CHRIST comesback in His manifestation as Your Follow- "ers believe You now to be, that He,‘ riage relationship? would not necessarily come with scars in His Hands, or nail-prints, or as a Jew as He went away, but He is liable to come as any person?’ FATI-IER:——“Well who knows how ' He came and how He appeared in the Person of JESUS? Who are here now that actually took His Picture?” INTERVIEWER :—‘Nobody, t-hat’s truer. The only way in the world we can know, is just what We read.’ . FATHER:—“Well now, who knows the appearance of a Jew? Jews in this Country, and at this Age, and in this light of Civilization, the same as other nationalities, have changed completely in their language, in their thoughts and in their actions. They are cultured, they are intelligent, While at that time those who were commonly known as Jews were the valleys. They were the valleys of the Nations, of which the Prophet was speaking.” . INTERVIEWER:—‘Well then Your View, and I gather that from the Magazine, is that all racial distinc- tions are wrong. Now I believe with You that in the Spirit there is no such thing as that, but Your Belief 4 then is that right here on Earth dur- ,*ing this time, all race and color and all 1that will be completely over- thrown?’ ’ FATHER:—“In the amalgamation of all of the various races and col- ors as we now think of them, they will all be converted into one race." INTERVI_EWER:—‘T-hat will -be as we intermarry?’ FATHER:-—“Well what .d_oes the Bible say regarding marrying in the Kingdom, and those who are worthy of the Kingdom?” ' INTERVIEWER: ‘I -know ‘the Scripture You are Thinking of.’ FATI-IER:——-“Well. it even says, they who are ACCOUNTED worthy. Not only when they get there, but they who‘are ACCOUNTED worthy. For instance, when a man and his wife have become Be- lievers in You as the CHRIST, do they cease to be husband and wife? Then here may be a young woman and a young man contemplating be- ing married. When they become Your Followers do they then not. become married? reading the magazine articles about You and Your Work, that there is no sex in Your World or Belief. If that is a fair question I would like to know Your Views, and if You would let me have it I would, like to get a copy of this interview to print, because it would come nearer reveal- ing it to folks than anything I could tell them. It would be fairer to You to print the whole thing just as it is.’ FATHER:-—“But I imagine you would not care to print the whole thing. It is rather long.” INTERVIEWER:—‘Well, it would be, but on the other hand there is this danger in cutting an interview, you might cut out the very thing a per- son considers most important. I have found that at times, and _perhaps You have too, and so I would like to ‘get that, and what about that mar- riage question if You don’t mind an-_ swering it.’ , A FATHER:—“Well firstly I Say I am a firm Believer, and not only sup- posed to be a Believer but an Advo- cator, Emphasizer, and Demonstrator ‘of the Life and the Teaching CHRIST that was in the Person of JESUS of nineteen hundred years ago, Now those who have developed ~-the CHRIST Consciousness in them, they are partakers ‘of His Character- istics, and they become to be as He was.’’ a INTERVIEWER:--‘And ‘don’t care ,for those things?’ . FATHER:,—“Well now as I tell My Fo11owers,+I may meet some from time to time who say, ‘FA- THER, I have a mind to do this, that, or the other.’ I Say, Well what do you think JESUS would do or would have done if He was in your place? What do you’ think the~Per- son: or the Body called JESUS would I have gathered from. of . , Page 714. ' advice.’ ; lieve in Me. do in_ your particular experience? _I Say, now you do just what you be- lieve, sincerely believe, that Body ~ called JESUS would do.” INTERVIEWER:—‘That is good FATHER:—“Maybe they want to do something that may not be ac- cordingto My Personal Version, but I point them to the identical version ‘of the Body called JESUS and stress it. If they say, ‘Well, whatsoever JESUS would do, FATHER You are GOD, You are JESUS, You are, CHRIST,’ I Say, well whatever you think the Body called JESUS would do, you do that.” ’ INTERVIEWER:'—fWell that is good. I believe if ‘we all would do A thatlwe would get along better.’ FATHER:—“Now I Believe it, and I tell you why I stress it, because there are many different versions of the Scripture. There are -the dif- ferent Writers’ versions of the Bible. Now we read from what it was in the original. For this cause I stress JESUS as 'the Wayshower, as One Who leads the ‘children to His FA- V THER, to GOD, to the ‘Kingdom of Heaven.” H “Hence I Say JESUS was and is the Scale of Justice. If we weigh everything on the Scale of Justice through concentration, by thinking with a spirit of sincerity just exact- ly what we as individuals believes JESUS would do,—if we do it, that thought in us will adjust matters satisfactorily, because if we concen- trate on JESUS the Spirit from JESUS will come to us as a witness don't you see. It will ‘Teach us exactly what to do." “That is‘ the way the majority of My Followers are convinced to be- I. Say, you _go by what JESUS Said. I recall, years ago‘ I used to Say nothing but that. They would. say, ‘FATHER, tell us some- thing.’ I would Say, now whatso- (‘ever you sincerely believe JESUS would Say’ about it, now you con- centrate on that Person called JE- SUS. ‘I stressed. the, Person. They would say, ‘Well. FATHER, I know YOU are JESUS." I would Say, not so much about Me as a Person,—as I have been trying to tell YOU,- bult concentrate on that Person call- ed JESUS, and if‘ you concentrate on Him by, .focusing your. thoughts ~ on Him with It determination to do ly, and The “sperms worm" H exactly what would be in, Him to do if He .were. you, you _ will get the answer immediately, because the transmission of His Spirit 7 and" His Thoughts‘ will come to you. This is the Scale of Justice of which I am Speaking.” ‘INTER.VIEVVER:—‘VVel1 then this ’ question: One told me down there that Your Followers,-—4‘f1ose who be- lieve in You,—-never die; that some of them imaybe, who quit believing in You, die; but as long as they con- tinue ‘to believe in You they do not die here on Earth. Is-that true '2' FATvHER:——.—“Wel1 now, I will an- swer that question equivalently the same as before. Now JESUS Said, ‘He that believeth on Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and he that liveth and believeth on Me shall never die’.” I . » INTERVIEWER:—-‘I have always felt like -that, but does not that mean that ‘they shall neverdie spir- itually as well? Do you apply it to h the body too?’ FATHER:-—“Well was it not ap- plied. to the person in reference to’ the person of Lazarus when He raised him from the dead?” INTERVIEWER:-—-‘Yes, You are right, but yet I think that Lazarus’ physical resurrection was a type of ‘ the Spiritual Resurrection.’ FATHER:——“We1l I may term it to be as a type of the Spiritual, but nevertheless He Said, ‘He that be- lieveth on Me, -though he were dead yet shall he live,’ and He brought that one up from the dead apparent- ‘He that believeth on Me shall never die’.” INTERVIEWER:—‘I had inter- preted that, he that believeth on - GOD would never die spiritually, but not physically, and the reason I have held that view has been that -many of His Followers back there who did believe in Him have died physically. Haven’t they?’ FATI-I'ER:———“Well -they did not continue, according ‘to My Version, to live and «believe in Him to "let His Words abide in them.” INTERVIEWER:—‘If they nah, they never would have died physic- ally?’ FATHER;——“That’s right! Now we read, at‘ the day of Pentecost there was a different version from that. 0.f., -I,Ej_,SUAS_. Although they‘ had , received the unfeldment of the sjnr-_ I , Young Ruler, ~ out you see. This was the foundation or --establishment or building of the Church, but the Foundation of ‘the establishment of the Kingdom, JE- SUS laid out when He told the Rich ‘Thou knowest the Commandments, Do not Kill, Do not Steal, Honor thy father and thy mother,’ and the Rich Young Ruler said, ‘All of_ these things have I kept from my youth up.‘ He Said, ‘GO SELL’ ALL YOU HAVE". AND GIVE TO THE POOR, then come and follow‘ Me.’ He did not Say, ‘Come and bring anything to JESUS for the establishment of the Kingdom.’ "-Now you see the My‘Version. That is the reason"! , do not approve of taking collections ' in My Meetings, or in connection with My Meetings.” IN'I‘ERVIWER:——‘But if people come and offer You ‘anything to carry on this great Movement, You would be at liberty to accept it’ would You not?’ ‘ FATHER:—“I would be .’at liberty’ if I would do so, but I would not accept it from a person ‘that would endeavor to GIVE Me anything. I would only accept of something if I’ would do something practical in some practical way. But as far as giving service, I mean Professional or Spiritual service to the children of men, as Teaching, and as My daily Occupation may be, Iconsider the service belongs ‘to GOD and it should be as a free gift to the world, gratis to mankind.” ‘Hence those who resorted to tak- ing collections, and money, and such, it was different from what JESUS first Said when He started them they made a mistake and did not keep JESUS’ Sayings to that de- gree. Now if they would have kept ’His Sayings, and followed them as He did,-—‘Now youssell it and give it to the poor and then come to Me _ and I will Bless you,’—-that is_ My Version.” _ ' ‘F 1’ INTERVIEWER:~~‘In other words Your Version is, that instead I of a thing to y_ou;. they slieiild. Mayer Studios in filmland released ‘a picture known as “Gabriel Over The White House.” The picture was adjudged one of the outstanding pictures of the year and aroused considerable comment. Directed by Gregory La Cava, the picture was made in record time-— twelve days, if memory serves cor- rect. ~ The picture originally designed as a “quickie,” and viewed as somewhat of a daring and radical experiment, turned. out to be the ”year’s greatest success. Starting with a good story, packed with dramatic possibilities, La Cava. managed to produce one of those rare things known as an epic an-d a picture which left its imprint indelibly upon the minds of the Amer- ican - public. "Gabriel Over The White ’House” dealt with the unheard of and fanci- V ful case of a President who daredto do right_ The President (played by Walter Houston), hemmed in by sapine, spineless subordinates, whose function was to say “yes” with in- gratiating ineptitude, in a fit of ex- asperation, rebelled, and as the fa- miliar expression goes, kicked over the traces. (The exact‘ incident or cause responsible for this re-creation ’ seems to be obscure in the writer's memory.) The effect of this rebirth was amazing! It was like a bomb- shell. ‘ i From a soft amenable, and pliable Chief Executive, ‘ the emerged one day from his office a roaring lion. ' Everywhere throughout ' the length and breadth of the land, the people feel the PRESENCE of GOD_ \They know HE has already. come and not as some_ have said, “CHRIST is to come.” HE has al- ready come. He is here. By the witness of the testimonies which ring out from every corner of the earth, and by the manifestation of the incomparable Work of GOD, by’ the delivering of these great and priceless MESSAGES daily received, A I ‘4 «we know that GOD is here, fornd man could do the-Works that FA- THER DIVINE does, neither’ could ‘ have . TRUTH, HE has’ given them power- any manspeak as HE speaks. No man has possessed such love‘for all peo- ple as. has this Great GIVER of Good, neither hath any man be- ' stowed such_love unto man, as has FATHER. DIVINE. The Scripture declares: “Greater love hath, no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” FATHER DI- VINE has sacrificed HIS, HOLY, PRECIOUS, IMMACULATE LIFE time over ‘and over again, not only for His friends, but for the entire human race, but unto as many as received this MESSAGE of to overcome all adversaries and ad- verse’ and undesirable conditions. ,As we daily sit and listen to‘ the miracles that take place in the lives ‘of the people all over the World, we are compelled to say with our Be- loved FATHER, “The Spirit of the Consciousness of the PRESENCE of GOD, is the, Source of all supply, -and it will, and "actually does satisfy eve- ry good desire)’, The SPIRIT of FA- THER DIVINE is operative in the land. This fact was truly verified in the different testimonies, as they told‘ how GOD had wrought-miracles un- to them, Many expressions of Praises had gone up to the Throne of GOD, ‘but at this time, one, a brother from the far South, was magnifying the NAME of GOD for His Goodness and Mercy to -him, even-though he had not here- tofore seen, the PERSONAL BODY 01:‘ THE ’ CHRISTJ’. The Work of His Spirit was the same one place as it was the other. The -recognition of I-IIS PRESENCE FORM, is the essential. _ At the conclusionof this brother's testimony, FATHER sang the fol- lowing, Song, and then proceeded to give this “Divinely Heavenly MES- SAGE," which has been herewith re- corded for the edification of all man- kind. -We thank THEE BLESSED- LORD, SAVIOUR DIVINE. Because you continued to declare the -‘reality of GOD, the very thoughts of your mind caused your appearance to change, but when your thoughts con- ceived the idea in the heart, in real- ity, by a continued re-iteration, it caused your whole system without and within to change, That is the mystery. You have expressed just what you believe. That which you have believed in the mind, it is re- flected in your personal appearance, such isva real experience, but such as you have -sincerely believed in your - ‘heart, you have become to be a part of that which you have believed in your heart. Now-isn't that won- derful? (“Truly wonderful!” re- marked the throng.) . TRUTH SPREADING Through the complete reiteration of your conscious conviction and the realization of others, you will be brought into the conscious realization of it. Now isn’t that wonderful! You .will be brought into the vconscious realization of it, as the re-iteration of the conscious’ conviction and the realization of A others is ’ continued, When you continue to reiterate or re- peat the conscious conviction and the realization of others, you too will be- come to be partakers of it. That is why this TRUTH is spreading like wild fire, because of the reiteration .1 of the Words you have spoken. The transmission of MY SPIRIT will take ’ it over to others, and carry the MES- SAGE through reiteration to others, they too, will become to be partakers of it. Now isn’t it a privilege, Dear Ones, to see the scientificness and the reality and the significance of re- iteration? ‘ Some have thought from time’ to time, those of MY Followers in sing- ing‘Spiritual songs, they would re- peat or reiterate over and over’ again, the one word so often—the same as you say and have sung: “HE IS GOD! Goo: Goo: GOD!” Whzitsoever the Spirit has quickened in you——in oth- er words, whatsoever the Spirit has inspired you with, to make it real, to you, it must not stop merely in your‘ conscious mentality, but you must continue to reiterate it until your heart conceives it. When your heart conceives that which has been given by inspiration, it will become to be aconscious conviction and real- ization to the person; who has con-, eeived it; ' V "Page 19 i IMPOSSIBILITY , FOR YOU TO DIE ‘ . . When this is established in your sub-consciousness, it is a. matter of impossibility for you to lose it; then if you would even so much as go down to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean in the deepest part of it, with the conscious conviction and the realization of GOD as a Living Fac- tor quickened in your heart as Well as in your mentality, say: “THANK YOU FATHER,” not merely as if being committed to memory, but “I THANK YOU FATHER,” saying it automatically as it would come forth spontaneously from your subcon- sciousness, it would be a matter of impossibility for you to die. ‘That seed of Life, that re-predic- tion of ‘David, re-quickened and re- iterated in you, has been fulfilled in your experience: “Call on ME in the day of trouble, I will deliver Thee.” With this quickened Spirit in your hearts, that which you have re- peated so often, until you shall have become to be the automatic Repeater of such an expression, that those ex- pressions will come forth spontane- ously and voluntarily and unthought- fully, then and there, that expression: ‘'1 THANK YOU FATHER,” if this happens to be the expression con- ceived in your heart, it will deliver you from all of your troubles. A Oh it is a privilege to realize as it was from the beginning ofuyour ,ed- ucational c~ar;eer, starting in the kindergarten of your educational career, and see the re-iteration of those words that you did ireiterate‘, and how real they were as you re- iterated them until you conceived them in your hearts—committed them to memory, “and had them by heart," If this is true, why not see the whole of your life and everything else you may endeavor to do, to be REAL and as TRUE by re-iteration and by consciously and sincerely repeating it over and over again, until you can receive it. TEMPLE OF GOD __ You cannot in reality, receive that which you cannot conceive. The real conception is the reality of recciviiig it. Merely to say, “I received some-_ thing," and you do not conceive it, neither perceive the idea, it is _a mat-- ter of impossibility for you to re-' ceive it; in reantife That which you Page 20 receive especially as an expression for a conceptionvor as a quotation, for a conception, that which you can receive, you must conceive the idea concerning it, and conceive the ac- tual expression through your mental and Spiritual conception. When this shall have been estab- lished, then and there, your physical body will be the body andthe Temple of that which you have conceived. Your body will become to be the Temple ,and the Body of GOD, for you. have conceived that which you consciously believed. You did no longer merely consciously believe it inyour conscious mentality, but by re-iteration you conceived it in your sub-consciousness and established it in your memory never to be forgot- ten. By this, we shall re-establish the KINGDOM of GOD Universally, and the conscious realization of GOD’S PRESENCE on earth among the people. I shall establish it in reality, by .causing those of you whoare true and faithful, to continue to say it, until you do get sincere in saying it. When you get sincere_ in saying it, you will conceive it. When you con- ceive it, then you have it. BRING FORTH THE ROYAL DIADEM Oh! it is a privilege to realize the scientific-ness and the significance of this TRUTH, as it is put forth into expression to you. Each and every individual can, if he or she will, bring forth the ROYAL DIADEM, and CROWN HIM LORD of all. This is accomplished bypcontinuing to repeal that which you believe. You may say, “I believe it,"—-and “Why should I repeat it? Why should I continue to say it?” You should continue’ to repeat it, or reiterate it until your hearts shall have conceived it, and will speak it automatically unthoughtfully to you as an individ- ual.’ The very Spirit of that which you have believed, will speak with- in. It will be no longer you speak- ing, as an individual, as said the Apostle. but, the CHRIST that dwells within you. shallstir up the Nations contin- ually. By this, we shall bring into -outer expression and into materialization and on the Ma- terial Plane in and among us, win all of our affairs, RIGHTEOUSNESS, TRUTH and JUSTICE by re-iteration. “We have re-iterated it until it has become to be a part of us, the same as you re-iterated your alpha.bet— your A. A Constitutional Amend- , ment The action of the ‘Supreme Court Production /in nullifying many essential portions of the New Deal program, and the more recent action of the Canadian Supreme Court in declaring invalid similar legislation in the Dominion, brings to the fore, more than ever, the pressing necessity of a Constitu- tional Amendment limiting the pow- er of this body to ‘render valueless such 1egis1ation——or rather vesting in Congress the authority to transcend such rulings. A The will of the people, as mad known and expressed by Congress in session, should not be countermanded by a body of nine men subservient to the best interests of a few, Present social legislation, essential to the people’s interest, appears to be doomed by the reactionary Supreme Court. The “SPOKEN worm’? Democrats Turn at Phila- " delphia Eye Third Party Philadelphia, June 21st.——On the eve of the Democratic National Con- , vention the political pot boiled mer- rily with last minute developmenta adding zest to the meet. As the New Dealers prepared for the re- nomination of President several factors caused party leaders furrowed brows. One was the third party movement headed by Represen- tative William Lemke, of North Da- kota which threatened to divert part‘ of the liberal vote.- Assured of the backing of the _Rev, Charles E. -C_oughlin’s National Union for Social Justice, Lemke’s newly formed Union party sought to ~ wean share-the- wealth fdisciples of the late Huey P. Long from the political heirs of the Louisiana dictator. The third party ‘bid caused the fear that in a few un- certain states, especially in the north- ern section of the farm belt, ‘the ‘Lemke votes would be effective at the expense of the Democratic total. . As a,,counter move the Democrats projected a plank challenging the powers of the_Supreme Court on so- cial reform as a. means of halting defections to the third party. Ad-’ ministration platform makers ‘came under pressure to assume a bold con- stitutional stand with a declaration of the right and duty of Congress and the states to protect the people with social and industrial legislation by *a'. reassertion of their powers with- in-the Constitution. While the phrase “within the Constitution” was used this was taken to mean undefined action to overcome the obstacles set up by Supreme Court decisions. ‘ ' Platform emphasis was also placed on a far-reaching plank bidding for labor ‘support and a non-gold mone- tary plank holding out hope ‘ to the supporters of a. system“ of managed currency. From a survey of twenty- one states in. the last three months ‘Edward McGrady, 3. Assistant Secre- tary of Labor, reported to Democratic headquarters that 85 per cent of or- ganized labor was for Mr. Roosevelt. In short, a gaily despondent time I was had by all. ‘Anthem of. the Universal (Tune: ‘‘America.’’)' “One Cosmic Brotherhood, ' One Universal Good, One Source, One Sway; One Law Beholding Us, One Purpose Moulding U-s, One Life Enfolding Us, , In Love Always. Finds New Living C‘ Buddha Helped by Reflec- tions invLake Dispatches from the forbidden. kingdom of Tibet report a new Dalai Lama, or “living Buddha," was dis- ’ covered in the Han Jen district, north- I east of Lhasa after a search of more 1 than two years. _ The new Buddha was believed, the Tibetan advices said, to be a rein- carnation of the thirteenth Dalai Lama, who died December 17, 1933. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual and temporal ruler of Tibet, ‘I Tibetan monks and professional “diviners" have been searching for the reincarnated Dalai Lama ever since the death of the previous ruler, and reports received earlier from Lhasa said the omens were favorable for an early finding of the new living Buddha. ' The Tibetan new year began in February under auspicious circum- stances, reports from the “hermit kingdom” said. Spiritual authorities sent a deputation of high priests, sages, monks and philosophers to the sacred Chugkhorgyae Lake, east of, Lhasa, near which the first Dalai Lama was born, to contemplate im-" ages reflected on the surface. The lake-gazers were reported suc- cessful in their quest. Visions pf a house bearing the mysterious words “A Ka Ma” appeared, believed to bear some relation to the name of the parentsof the future Dalai Lama. Theipopulace was instructed then to join in the search for the house and a child born about the time of the death of the former Dalai Lama. A Since the death ‘of the late Dalai. Lama under mysterious circumstances at Lhasa, the affairs of state have been in the hands of the temporal ‘regent, Jechen Hutukehtu. WEORLD SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVENTION . Man of Mystery This amazing man who calls him- self God, and has been able to con- vince his followers of the claim, ‘has appeared from time to time in the news in the last few years. From whence he came or how he has suc- ceeded in spreading his doctrine through the length and breadth of the United States remains as much of a. mystery‘ as the man himself. Many thousands of persons, partic- ularly outside of his New York “heav- en” headquarters, have embraced the cult and accepted‘ the man, ‘without reservation, as “God in a Body.” Father Divine is most certainly an astounding personality, and ad- mittedly all unéhown quantity to those outside-his cult. Tuesday, June 23rd, 1936 _ g Inner Voice Reliaious Guide, Says Dr, Shepard Los Angeles, Calif., June 8th.—— That every person ,regardless of creeds, philosophies or race, posses- ses a “true guide” within himself, was stressed by Dr. Sheldon Shephard yesterday in his message to wor- shipers attending morning services at the First Universalist Church, 1373 South Alvarado Street. “Every religion has its place, every teacher serves his purpose and for» every idea there is an individual some- where who needs it,” he told his con- gregation. “Each human mind re- ceives the degree and form of truth for which itlis ready. Human think- ing is a process which cannot accept anything which does not conform to that which it has previously expe- rienced or already learned. One has to be prepared for the truth before he can receive it. Each Has His Own Faults “Persons of different creeds, de- nominations, religions, philosophies have no cause for quarreling among themselves. Each one has the true religion~—for him. We canot walk the same paths, We do not speak the same spiritual language. In every soul there is a vast area of loneliness, where one is with himself and God, “As individuals do not like best the same flowers, nor prefer the same music, nor wish the same friends, neither ‘are they helped by identical expression oftruth. All creeds are faulty, finite attempts to express an «inarticulate infinite. As none express- es clearly, completely and truly the nature of the Inexpressible, the follow- ers of one way should not think that their way is superior to all others. It is best for them, but may not be the best way for their neighbors. Inner Voice Guides “The true guide for every person is the Inner Voice. Teachers, author- ities, dogmas and creeds are merely crutches to help him along until he is ready for the Teacher Within. In fact, the Divine Wisdom within him uses the.creeds, priests and teachers to bring whatever help the believer receives. 4 “Every person’s religion is right as long as he receives that which he “th_i_nfks he ‘needs and that which min- isters ‘to his peace and well being.- The ‘_‘S_I?OKEN But eventually the growing soul will come to the realization of the truth that within there lies the source of all wisdom,” he concluded. Lynching Bill Before House Washington, June 16th.——An anti- lynching‘ bill was forced out of the House Judiciary Committee, where it has been lying dormant for near- ly two years, today, when Republic- ans and Northern Democrats joined forces in a surprise move. The action of the group took the effect of a petition containing 218 signatures demanding the discharge of the committee from further con- sideration of the bill and was seeh Pn.g929 as a possible bar in the path of ear- ly adjournment. The bill, sponsored by Represent- ative Gavagan (D.), of New York, would make lynching a Federal of- fense punishable by imprisonment of persons implicated in mob, viol- ence and fine of the community ,where the lynching occurs.
