BE HEAHI] HIHHEHIJPS, sun sun EAHIH HIBHIEDIJSNESS SHALL HEIBNANII HEAVEN SHALL BE HEAL|ZEl! HERE AND NBW FATHER DIVINE’S MESSAGE AT THE BANQUET TABLE, 20 WEST 115TH STREET, NEW YORK CITY, MON- DAY, NOVEMBER 5., 19345 1:30 P. M. Recognizing the existence of a new and amazingly powerful Factor in the Political situation, expressed in Father Divine’s Con- trol over the masses, a steady stream of statesmen, doctors, lawyers, Senators, Rep- resentatives, and politicians of every political affiliation had made its way to Father’s New York City Headquarters, within recent weeks, to gain His Support. That His Influence is not limited to New York State, has also been recognized, since it is well known and has been publicly de- clared in other States, even to far away California, that Candidates for_Office, even to that of Governor, have requested and received Father’s Support. It is equally well known, also that this has been a free gift,’ for which all compensation has been refused. One of the last-moment arrivals at Fath- er’s Headquarters, Monday Morning, Nov. 5th, was a candidate for State Senator on the Republican Ticket, Mr. Walter A. Guest, who after being conducted by Father to the “Banquet Table and introduced to the great Throng that filled the Banquet Hall, said that he recognized the Power in the Name Divine, and made an appeal in a few words. for votes. Speaking in support of the candidate, was Mr. George W. Harris, former New York -and editor of the New York Weekly News, one of Father’s Followers in the Political world, who spoke in part as follows: ‘ “Peace Father, and Senator Guest. It is a privilege for me to again be in the Pres- ence of Father Divine, and especially, Sen- ator, on an occasion when you, a young man, are coming to seek the suffrage of the peo- ple. On another occasion about a year ago, we had the privilege of introducing the com- ing Mayor of New York City, Mr.,LaGuar- dia. ‘At that time he promised Father, ‘I ~ will follow'you,’—maybe with some reserva- tions,—but to Father Divine he owes his election, and if he will proceed in that Spirit, New York City will be saved, and the people will be progressed.” , “We‘may”'circle all we please, but the World ‘must come now, as it faces discord, and aswe turn again almost toward the dark Age's,——iit must turn to the Spirit of Father Divine. Father, since these Messages of Yours have been going out in the Paper, it maybe ofinterest, particularly to the Sena- tor, to know that this morning we received in our office, 24 subscriptions from the F01- lowers of Father-Divine in Sidney, Austra- lia.” ‘ “This has¥been‘a privilege, to say a word, and as an older Politician, Senator, andone who hasbeenr through"the'mi1l, one who knows something-iab’out, it,-‘ I have come to the coniclusionithat there is '-no other way——— but Father Divine.” . ' 5 Mr. Harrisconcluded by introducing two other political ‘friends’ who accompanied him, Mr. Eaton, "president" of the World’s Alliance, whom he said was leaving that af- ternoon to visit President Roosevelt, and a well-known athlete. After Mr. Eaton had made an impressive address in which he said "he had never felt the, Presence of GOD more effectively, Father Spoke Personally, as follows: ’ “PEACE EVERYBODY! Here you are and there I am again,—Whatsoever' that means! (‘GOD,’ shouted the Throng.) There I sit, and here you stand,—the real transmission of GOD to man, that all might understand, there is a Reality in_the Ever- presence of GOD, and not something merely imaginary, for GOD is at hand. It is in- deed Wonderful! While the Speaker before the last was speaking in reference to the universal Brotherhood of man and the con— . scious realization of the Fatherhood of GOD, I brought for consideration, as I have broughtlinto display and into outer expres- sion, a Sample and an Example of the fu- ture establishment of humanity. It is indeed Wonderful! 1 As I often Say, all that are gathered to-' gether, the Universe over, they must even- tually abolish and eradicate all prejudices, all segregation, and all Iiscrimination, or else it will’ be a matter of impossibility for them to enjoy the Joys of Life that we are producing and enjoying here this morning. It is indeed Wonderful! As the last Speak- ‘ er said in reference to the different Ages, and the different scenes of expression in the different diversities of Dispensations,—they called out different individuals for the especi- al purposes, to eradicate the chaos and the chaotic conditions that were in the Dispensa- tion. It is indeed Wonderful! MAN’S. EX'TR.E.MITY—GOD’S ‘ OPPORTUNITY- If it was only for the cause of the De- pression the people the Universe over, have been in for the last ten or twelve years,-I venture to say since soon after the War,- this Mission and this Calling would be es- sential for one and for all, who have to come ' through hardships of the depressions, limi- tations, lacks, and wants, and all adverse and. undesirable conditions. Through the oppres- sions of the oppressors, and every conflict- ing expression, GOD in His own Majesty, Love, and Mercy, and Tender Compassion for His People, condescended to bring forth this expression as a Sample and as an Ex- ample of what GOD in this Mighty Name will do universally. Regardless of the oppo- sitions, conflicts, or confiictions, the Spirit of My Presence is Sufficient. It will over- come all segregation, all depressions, and all limitations, and all discriminations, every ad- verse and every undesirable expression, and establish the Kigdom of Heaven in the place of those negative expressions. ‘ FEATURES IN THIS ISSUE Pages FATH.ER DIV|NE’S MESSAGES....1-9 KINGDOM ACTIVITIES .................. ..4-5 EDITORIAL ...................... .. 8 GENERAL FEATURES ................... ..'x-x SCIENCE and DISCOVERY ....... ..12-13 » same. All mankind shall eventu- ally know: there is a Reality in GOD, as a "Living and a practical Expression,——Some- thing that is Tangible and Real among the people. It is indeed Wonderful! ONLY’ ONE MAN V This morning we stand as though many, yet ONE MAN as THOUGH it is many,—.' yea,-by My Version ‘as one man at Jeru- salem.’ I have not invited any special in- dividuals this morning, this is a common oc- currance. Every day it is the same,—the actual fulfillment of the Scripture on the material plane, “In the Day of My Power My People shall be willing,’ and also another quotation bearing witness of the same, which we are expressing,—‘Where the car- case is, there shall the eagles be gathered to- gether.’ Another quotation is,—-and this is a fulfillment of this Morning,——‘The Scep- tre shall not depart from Judah, nor the 1-aw- giver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, but when Shiloh comes, the gather- ing of the people shall be unto Him.’ The Law-givers of our State, they are coming. The Law-givers of our Country, they are coming. The Law-givers o-f our present City Government, they are coming. But, My Be- loved ones, to you Shiloh has COME. (‘YOU, /Father,’ shouted the throng.) SHILOH HAS COME _ Peace everybody! I Said, to YOU Shiloh has truly COME! To you,—the Law-givers and the Law have departed from you. It may sound a little radical, it may sound a little untrue, but if not to others it is to you. The Law-givers, the Senators, the Assem- blymen, the Congressmen, the Governors, the Mayors, and the Presidents, they all must recognize this Law, the Law of the Spirit of Life that is in Christ, or else the Law-. givers had just as well to depart from you. (‘Yes Father,’ was the shout.) -Peace everybody! It has long since been said,—‘The Laws were given by Moses, but Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ."The ‘ They had If they will not -adhere to_ what I Say, I am sure they will HEAR. it. It is indeed Wonderful! The Law that is in Christ’ Jesus,—- SHI- . LOH, of Whom you say I Am! I am Spon- ‘ soring this Universal Peace Mission, and I Am transmitting this Law of the Spirit of Life to them, that they might let the Law of the Spirit of Life that is in Christ, Rule in them. That is the only way they can fill the different offices they are seeking. It is indeed Wonderful! ONE LAW ONLY There is a Law within a Law, and that Law that is within a Law, is the Law of the Spirit of Life that is in Christ. In this Law of our City Government, and of our State, and our Country Government, they all ness has. passed away. must accept of this Inner Law which I am Expressing and have brought to fruition, or - else they cannot fill the offices. These are hard Sayings, apparently, but yet they are true. It was predicted through the mouth of, and.by Moses,—-‘The Law shall not depart from Judah, nor the Law- giver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes.’ The Law and laws of the present Governments, of all of the Countries, are supposed to be founded upon the Bible, the Law of Moses, and the Prophets. But Moses predicted this Coming, which all must recognize. Moses was the advocator, emphasizer, and demonstrator of the Law, and he declared it to the people of the Earth as he spoke through the Children of Israel. There and then it was handed down. thru all of the Generations, to all of the people of the Earth. The Law that w-as given to Moses, he declared it should not or would ‘not depart from Judah,_nor the Law-giver from between his feet, until Shiloh Comes.’ This morning I will call M!OS!ES into ex- pression! This Morning I will call Moses, as the Law-giver of all of the laws. I will cause him to witness ME! OH MOSES, WHERE ART THOU? Moses must come forth by Inspiration, and by the true interpre- tation, as a witness for this Message and for this Dispensation, for this Fundamental that I am advocating. It is indeed Wonder- ful! Moses, I have called into action, that he might bring to the mind of the people col- lectively, the message he was given, and he declared it,—-—‘The Law shall not depart from Judah, nor the Law-giver from be- tween his feet, until Shiloh comes.’ It is indeed Wonderful! The true spirit of Judia- ism must come forth and sponsor this Cause which I am expressing. They must come -as verifiers and as endorsers of this Message, and they too, as well as you, will willingly bring themselves, their bodies, into subjection. I think I had better stop! (‘No, Father,’—was the instantaneous shout.) THE NEW (TRUE) LAW This is the time when a change is taking I place,—a change from the Law that was in . Moses, to the Law of the Spirit of Life. That is why the Officials that are supposed to be makers of the Law and laws of our City, State, and Country, must come to Me. They HAVE come, and they ARE coming, for the express purpose of seeking and receiving the Law of the Spirit of Life, that they might found this Government in the future, upon the Law of the Spirit of Life that was in Christ. I Said a few years ago, I introduced Christ to the political world, as the only hope of their redemption, for all economic conditions, and for the changing of all ad- versities among the people. Thoughts to consideration. That is why especially, My Spiirit is actually drawing those that are supposed to be the Law- makers of this City, this State, and this Country. It is indeed Wonderful! Why? Because the old L-aw of prejudice and selfish- Such expressions .r ’ Person. Oh take these- have passed away, and behold I make all; things new,—the new and Living Way, which is the Law of the Spirit of Life that is in Christ. It is indeed Wonderful! GOD, THE REMEDY FOR DEPRESSION Therefore, the Officials must _seek it through the Fundamental, the only Hope of Redemption of mankind. The Law of the . Spirit of Life that is in Christ, shall be in- serted and injected in the hearts and lives of those that fill office, to make laws and ordinances for our present City and State Government. That is" the mystery! I am transmitting this Fundamental to them, that they might establish and re-found the Government upon.a Foundation that will be Incorruptible, Undefiled, and one that will not fade away. Oh it is such a privilege, dear ones, to live, to live in this recognition,—conscious of GOD’S Presence in bringing about the Law that will surpass, and does surpass, all human understanding beyond a reasonable doubt. It is indeed Wonderful! The Law of the Spirit of Life, I am transmitting to the officials and the candidates for election, that they might go forth and carry the Law of the Spirit of Life, they might be expressers of the Christ from that angle of the different diversities of degrees of expression wherein they are called,‘ according to their official duties. This is the mystery, Beloved ones! PRINCIPLE-—NOT PERSON _ We are not caring anything about a race, creed, or color,—we are caring‘ Qor a Princi- ple. With or without a body, visible or in- visible, tangible or intangible, personified or merely mythical, in the Invisible, we recog- nize the Fundamental. Is not this a privi- lege, dear ones? That is why I am drawing them from all parts of the Earth. They are recognizing this Fundamental, for it reaches them wheresoever they are found. They find they are Spirit of My Spirit and Mind of My Mind,———no longer imaginary, no longer a supposition, but your conscious realization has been substantiated for yours have been substantiated in it, that GOD is a Reality in this Dispensation,—not only mystical but in It is indeed Wonderful! Just as you see it here, I Say, I will have it all over the World. Irrespective of con- sequences or conflicts, the Spirit of My Pres- ence is,Sufficient in its Own Omniscience, or Omnipotence, to accomplish that for which I Came, and to establish same, uni- versally. It is indeed Wonderful! it is not necessary for a thought to rise in the mortal mind of opposition, to feel as if though My opponents can prohibit it. It is an absolute matter of IMPOSSIBILITY, for GOD in His Own Omnipotence and, Omniscience is S’,ufficient. He carries within Himself the Victory over all -adverse conditions, it mat- ters not what they may be. Hence, I am just as operative WITHOUT My Personal Presence, as I am WITH It. That is the great significance of the Omni- potence, and Omniscience, and‘ Omnipres- ence of GOD- It is indeed Wonderful! In ‘z .. 3.. ._:.‘_;:,«_W..‘ yr.’ :3 that, you are swinging clear from all of the mortal versions,—not relying on yourself as a person or as a man, but relying on the in- finiteness of the Infinite, on the spirituality of the Spiritual, on the Omniscience of the Omniscient,.—-that you might accomplish th-at for which you came. Hall of the visible bodies of men, would DISAPPEAR into the nothingness from whence they came, the SPIRIT of MY PRESENCE would FUNCTION just the same, and could and WOULD be just as operative and just as effective as it is with all cif our personal presence. IMMORTAL BODY OF OURS Now is not that a Wonderful place to be? Oh that man could learn to throw off the body, his own individual body, and all of their bodies collectively, as the bodies of‘ men, and realize the Allness of GOD and the nothingness of man! When this sh-all have been done, you will not have an occasion to fret nor worry. Whatsoever you intend, you will know if is accomplishable, it is pro- ducible, is ‘reciprocatable,’ and also re- incarnatable. Others will reciprocate to you what you have done for them, and you don’t have to ask them for it. It is indeed Won- derful! Take these Thoughts into consideration! Live in the Consciousness of it! ‘Lo, I will be with you.’ The Powers that Be, they are all subject to Me. They are brought into subjection bythe conscious realization of the Allness of GOD and the nothingness of mat- ter, and by living continually in the Christ Consciousness. ' ALL MANKIND WELCOME As I often aforesaid, we" are happy to know. this Morning, that we have had Senator Guest with us, and other political Speakers and Representatives of the different Parties. But I am glad to lift up this Standard for each and everybody. When they come into our Assemblies they can see the outward expression as an open expression for the ob- servation of the people as a lesson, that they might be taught, not in words only, but in our personal deeds and our personal actions. I am telling them just exactly what I Stand for. All of the races, creeds and colors, they must be unified together. They must be recognized, according to your classes, or classifications whichever, and there must be no division among My People. I -am expres- sing it, in the very appearance of the Gath- ering under My Personal Jurisdiction. In the personal appearance of them, and in their expressions as we reflect them in deeds and in actions, as we sit and stand together,--I am expressing My Version and they must bring their bodies into subjection, and they ‘must be willing to endorse My Activities, or else they will be defeated. It is indeed Wonderful! A Thought came for c0nsideration,—if perchance one would be elected in this par- ticular election that is not worthy of the office, I will bring the decision to the Ap- pellate Division of the Supremacy of the Infinite, and will cause the next election to see that they are defeated, by reversing the decision. It is indeed Wonderful! It is ‘hard to say, apparently, but if there are any friends of those of the political world, around, that think within themselves that they can flatter Me,—‘Be not deceived, GOD is not mocked.’ Nothing is hid from Me. As I Said yesterday, when one of the candid-ates onsthe Stage in the Rockland Palace, last week, on Tuesday Evening, expressed as though he was giving all Honor to Me for the purpose of gaining the sympathy and support of My M-ajesty,——when he went to the Church and other places among the peo- ple, while speaking privately and publicly, he tried to ignore Me, yea even tried to criti- cise those of My _Followers, while he is seeking their vote. It is in’deed Wonder- ful! BE ON GOD’S SIDE But remember, the man’s name I will call but it is not necessary to call it especially, for if I am FOR you, the whole World had just as well be against you, and they had just as well be FOR you, for with Me I‘ have the Victory over all adversities. It is indeed Wonderful! And if I oppose you, it matters not how many there are for you, you had just as well to shut up! Mr Steele did not flatter Me, he did not win a vote from Me, by saying he believed in Me. IKNOW HIM! It is indeed Won- derful! I need not call a person’s name, My Spirit andMy Mind is Sulficient,—-I work through the mind of the masses,~—I transmit My Thoughts to the people. It is indeed Wonderful! Nevertheless, as it is an open spoken word, and as I stand openly, I call his name -as he has spoken, that you all may know of whom I am talking. It is indeed Wonderful! NO DECISION POSSIBLE If one ever gets in office, that is not quali- fied, I will move him out. It is indeed Wonderful! These may be apparently hard Sayings, but this is the Live Wire, a Live Rail, and even a Live Atmosphere, in which youare living. If you THINK negatively, you may get a mental and spiritual. shock. I have charged the spirit of the atmosphere of New York with the magnetic current of GOD'S Infiniteness, and the conscious reali- zation of GOD’S Presence. current of GOD’S Infiniteness, will shock the minds that think negatively, through it, for it is just as operative in and on the men- tal plane, as on the material, live, electric “ wires and rails are, on the material plane. I know these are hard Sayings, I know I am Radical apparently, _but I haven’t said anything yet, toiwhat I WILL Say. Yet with all of that, I will be Saying, and Saying nevertheless, all that I may Say or WILL will be but a slight sketch and a reflection of a percent of a fraction of a grain of what I WILL DO universally, for I will Preach Christ in "Words, but more so in deeds and actions and I will put My Spirit in them and cause them to walk in My Statutes... This magnetic ‘ .'Therefore, by the, ‘people being electedyi even if one WOULD be elected that is not officially, and morally, and righteously qual- ified, I will reverse the decision by convert R ing the people for the next election. Did you hear Me? I will REVERSE the de- cision, through the Appelate Division, by the the next election, by converting the people and bringing -them into subjection to this Fundamental. GOD’S MESSAGES SOUGHT Why is it the masses are reading the New York News today? It is because the New York News received My Messages willing- ly. You readily, and as many as are con- verted into My recognition, they are con- verted into the reading of the Newspaper. Therefore, when I convert the people, I will reverse the decision. Even though they heretofore decided that a person should be Alderman, or a person should be Congress- man, or a man should be Assemblyman, or a man should be a Senator,—all they have s said he should'ibe,—if he is not in accord with me when I convert those persons I will reverse their decision, and in the next elec- tion it will be difficult. That is the mystery! It is indeed Wonderful! I will add missions and millions to the universal Cause, and as many as are converted into this recognition _ they are also reversers of their pre-decisions, ,. for they have been transformed by the re-. newing of their minds. Therefore, the men- tal and spiritual Appellate Division of Con- gress within themselves has reversed the de- cision, When' I converted them into this recognition. It is indeed Wonderful! The time cometh and now is, every news- paper will be seeking Me, and after-a-while they will be anxious to have Me, but I WILL NOT have them. I -am converting the people, and reversing their decisions, ’and" the decisions of millions. It is indeed Won- derful! Take these Thoughts into consid- eration. Live in this recognition. Dail in on the Fundamental, and live according to" this Teaching, which "is Evangelical. You will be tbundantly blessed, according to the Aim and the Purpose of the Almighty. Just a Word for the Politicians! .I Stand I as One, as I aforesaid, Sponsoring this Uni- versal Peace Mission, that it may be em-' bodied in the officials’ decisions when they i shall have been elected to office, that Law and Order may be sponsored and controlled by our Government in a way, for it shall be the Law of the Spirit ofvLife in them, yet according to the Constitution. It is indeed »-~- Wonderful! ‘ RIGHTEOUS ‘GOVERNMENT _ NECESSARY Then I Say, we came to put these points through, -and many bills are well worth con- sidering, that the Senator should take for the’ good of the people, and as an issue up to Congress, as representative of good living a and moral betterment. ‘It is indeed Won-V derful! They will present such as the milk- trust Bill, such as the coal-trust Bill, such (Continued on Page Six) Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 10th.-—The visit to Los Angeles of Faithful Mary, the angel ‘ who was resurrected from Newark’s under- world, to take her place as a beaconlight for all mankind, was a most happy circum- stance. Day after day during her stay, hun- dreds were thrilled by her amazing testi- mony. However often this testimony is ' heard, it never for an instant loses its power- ful appeal as one of the most inspiring tales of human rejuvenation. Her almost unbe- lievable rise from the garbage can to her present position is one of the phenomena of the new day. ‘ To many in Los Angeles, confused to some extent as to the exact teaching of FATHER DIVINE, brought about by mis- leading presentations of his message to the world, this humble disciple cleared away .the mists of misunderstanding and more by her example than her words, permitted the true message in its simplicity to be seen by all. Her visit, in a large measure, restored peace and harmony to troubled hearts, brought vividly home to all, the necessity for love and kindness os the essence of FATHER D‘IVINE’S{ message. To others, believing thiemselves possessed of various physical afflictions, her radiant and vital appear- ance of health, proved a tower of strength and renewed hope. It is anticipated that Faithful Mary will be present both in the morning and evening, Sunday, November 11th, at the 41st Street .'Kingdom, where another great gathering is expected topmarvel at her testimony. There appeared a possibility of a bus from the Northwest, arriving, and possibly one from Oakland, but this had not been verified. FATHER DIVINE has really stirred up Los Angeles with HIS Pure Love among HIS Children,’ for ‘the last seven days. It is truly Wonderful. HIS Love is here and always has been here, but when HE sends I more Love to that which is seemingly kind of still, HE really stirs it up. We are so glad that all the children are getting together in peace and harmony and love. We have seen faces that we haven’t seen since around February, when the Move-* ment was first started in Los Angeles. It is Wonderful. Just as Faithful Mary told them when she arrived. There is no need to come to her as a person to talk with her or ask anyquestions at all, but to contact the Spirit of FATHER DIVINE WITHIN and HE will tell them all they want to know and‘ they will need no man to teach them. As she further explained, she didn’t even go. to anyone to ask about FATHER DIVINE and didn’t hear anybody talk about ‘FATHER DIVINE, but FATHER spoke WITHIN her. Ever since HE has raised her from the depths of sin, she doesn’t go to anyone to’ ask any information at all- FATHER DIVINE is her Leader and Pro- tector and everything to her. We are so glad FATHER’S Love is ex- pressing like it did in the beginning of the ., Movement here, and the children are com- ing back together in Peace and Harmony. We would even like to have Faithful Mary stay longer, but she has not been taken as a person as the cause of bringing us together in the Pea-ce and Harmony but we know it is the Spirit of Love that FATHER DI- VINE is expressing through HIS temple that appears to us as Faithful Mary. It is FATHER and nothing else for Father speaks through her so beautifully and al- ways reminds us to keep our minds staid on GOD and let nothing come between us and our sweet FATHER. In going around with FATHER in Faith- ful Mary, we°have had many helpful experi- ences. It was Wonderful how a minister asked FATHER in the temple of Faithful Mary, how the blessings come, or the source of supply. “But,” he said, “Only those in this Truth know that.” And we stood back and listened to FATHER speak through her and we could just see how FATHER was speaking for her and when she couldn’t even explain the limitless blessings PFATHER DIVINE is expressing she said, “No one knows but GOD, Who is FATHER DI- VINE, because if I knew, I would be GOD myself. All we have to do is to deny our- selves and live this Evangelical Life and FATHER DIVINE will express HIS limit- less Blessings through you.” In going among some of the children that heard of FATHER’S Peace Mission,. but had also heard of so much division, when they heard FATHER speak through Faith- ful Mary, and heard her testimony of what GOD had done for her and healed her, it has caused many to come in, who were really in the Sianctified Churches and FATHER would use them in this Wonddrful Spirit and Vibration. It is truly Wonderful. FATHER’S Mind and Spirit has really taught us how to keep our Mind staid on GOD and let nothing come between us and our Saviour. Faithful Mary said, “The way most of the children were led here, by the person of man, they would all have been afraid to get up and pat their hands if FATHER HIMSELF would come here Persona-lly.” /ind many of the children re- plied, “Yes, they would have obeyed man at the time!” FATHER spoke through Faithful and told them it was better for this to have hap- pened than to have had FATHER come in her at first, because FATHER is only ex- pressing Love and you would have learned to Love right on, but still we wouldn’t have gotten any knocks and we would have exal- ted her the same as FATHER DIVINE. Now, since we have been knocked around. we see there is no need to look at anybody but GOD. Now we can see FATHER ex- pressing through her instead of saying, “I would just as soon see Faithful Mary as FATHER DIVINE.” It is Wonderful!‘ Now the sweet‘ testimonies are given amongst one another and they are telling how glad they are that they have come back _ FAITHFUL MARY’S VISIT GREAT INSPIRATION--DEPARTS WEDNESDAY EVE. together again, for the sheep had been scat- tered. FATHER’S sweet Love has caused them to come back together. There were so. many invitations extended to Faithful Mary to visit different institu- tions and churches, but regardless of all or these invitations, we could see expressed only that little lamb of FATHER DIVINE in her. She repeated many times, “All the praise and all the Glory goes to FATHER . DIVINE FATHER alone took her out of a gar- bage can! Man has been trying to rob God long enough. If we all had praised GOD and kept self out of the way, all would have been blessed to a certain extent before now. GOD said, HE would impart to some a gift of healing, some a gift of prophesying, etc., but by the time the Works began expressing through us, we would at- tempt to claim the glory and take the praises to ourselves. That is just why we are made a sample and example of among men, because no one could do the works unless it is GOD doing the Work through us. Faithful said, “With all the healings that have been done in FATHER’S King- dom, there are some still asking me if I could do it myself.” I would tell them, “If I could heal anyone, why couldn’t I heal myself?” , . It is so Wonderful how with all ‘these in- vitations extended to her, Faithful would say she would have to obey the Spirit of FATHER DIVINE and the Spirit just kept her right at the Kingdom, the former Dun- bar Hotel at 41st Street and Central Ave. And truly the Love has drawn the people together there. Every day the Banquet Table was spread at this Kingdom and was always filled to capacity and Oh! How FATHER in the various temples did sing and praise GOD and testifying telling what GOD had done for them. i _ There was one child that testified that she remembered Faithful Mary -s'ix"’years ago. She remarked that when she wasiback in the East and saw her, there wasn’t any way in the world that man could have made the wonderful change in that angel. She also said that if FATHER hadn't done anymore than what HE had done for Faithful Mary and had veiled HIMSELF never again to appear or be able to be seen Personally, the whole round world ought to know that FATHER DIVINE is GOD- She saw the condition the old body was in and said it ought to cause the whole of Cali- fornia and the whole world to' know FATHER DIVINE is GOD because GOD had HIS Hand held over her. FATHER has really awakened the chil- drerg in California and we are thanking HIM because HE has blessed us. \/Ve can look on all of His Good Works for He has done many good Works-here in Los Ange- les. Faithful Mary. We thank You Fathler. Every day there are testimonies of great and Wonderful healings that have taken place without even seeing the Personal Body of FATHER. Wednesday evening next, the 13th, Faith- ful Mary will make her departure culmi- nating a rare event in the life of Los An- geles. A goodly crowd is expected at the Santa Fe station to see her off. The train leaves at 7:05 p. m. It is understood that tentative plans have been made for a group to gather at the 41st St. Kingdom, from which place they will make their Way, in a body, to the station.~ The visit of Faithful Mary has not been without its significance. Left behind her is a new and greater appreciation of the great TRUTH which is sweeping the land, a greater conviction of the reality of GOD’S presence. Peace, Faithful Mary, and may your blessings be multiplied. We thank FATHER DIVINE deeply for making this happy visit possible. Airiving in New York on November 18th, a great Banquet will undoubtedly await her at the 126th Street Extension’, where the great work of reclaim- ing Harlem, and indeed all mankind, will go on. A CORRECTION Due to a typgraphieal error it was errone- ously‘ stated in the reprint of FAITHFUL MARY’S testimony appearing in the Nov. ‘ 3rd issue of The “SPOKEN WORD}: that, “The rent in one place is a thousand dollars a month.” It was meant to say that the total rental in all nine places, under the jurisdiction of FAITHFUL MARY, amounts to around a thousand dollars a month. THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL The most vital consideration, before the people today, according to their own decla- ra-tion, is the elimination of poverty» and want. The nation, to all appearances, faces a situation unprqcedented There is no need here to review the extent of this con- ditioln~—11,he ‘people themgaelves have ac- knowledged it and made it, a reality. Virtually all of our prominent public men have expressed their opinions concerning the remedy for this condition to no avail. It is obvious that the solution has still been undiscovered, at least to the majority of the people, or it has been sidestepped. In the utterances of our leading men the truly dis- cerning will see between the lines. They have seen and are loath to admit, the hand- writing on the wall. One observer sees a tendency too radical brewing on the horizen. This from one of our most conspicuous figures. He sees a wiser progressiveism on the part of one faction or an era of commu- protest which may threaten our "‘=Arneric'an institutions, on the other hand. A , , A great banker counsels those who are criticizing the policies of our present admin- istration in Washington, to refrain and per- mit the various social reforms to proceed uninterrupted. A In the statementlof both fhere is veiled the intimation that more extreme measures, more liberal than are commonly in practice at present, are an imminent ‘possibility. It is obvious that they are inevitable if the present paradoxical situation of poverty in the midst of plenty is to be brought to an_ end. The handwriting on the wall is all too visible. There is no conservative nor “middle-of-the-road” policy possible. The man in the middle-of-the road is certain to be swept to oblivion. _ There are certain diabolical machinations momentarily holding up the onward march of progress toward the goal of peace and plenty. Many will have opportunity to further seal their fate. But in the offing, fast approaching, can be heard the thunder of destiny, for the great Warrior of justice is at the helm. Not Communism, Marxism, nor any other un-American doctrine, but the fulfillment of our ideals of liberty and justice as incorporated in the Constitution--the ideals now being handled so lightly by those masquerading in the guise of its sup- porters—thc conservatives who are opposed to change- NEW SALES APPROACH While we were in New York, we ran. across two of our acquaintances from the West, now happy followers of FATHER DIVINE. Fresh from their jaunt about the country, during which time they had ample opportunity to demonstrate the busi- ness value of this Principle, they bubbled over -with eagerness to telleof their experi- ences. Glowingly, they told of .how they had started out from Los Angeles, with the idea of buying gold‘ under the Government License which they possessed, to pay their expenses. They said it was their intention‘ to try and conduct the business in FATHER DIV'INE’S mind and Spirit, keeping Him ever before them as the Sample. They had been highly‘ successful at every turn, which made possible_their trip. We were decidedly amused at a little story the sister told us about their experi- ence in “buying gold.” It was their pro- cedure to go from door to door, being-ever- conscious of FATHER, staying in each town as long as business warranted. They did not make any “high pressure” efforts to influence their prospects, but merely pre- sented their case and left it all to FATHER. As they continued, they seemed to find a ready response wherever they called. Like- wise, plenty of opportunity presented itself to spread the good cheer. The sister said she used to get in the habit, of tripping up the steps, ringing the bell briskly, and as she pressed the button, running over in her consciousness the thought, “God’s in the land!—God’s in the land!” This, she came ' Expressions BY QAHL ICHOL8 THE LIBERAL The radical lives ‘left”, the con- servative establishes himself to the “right” of the dividing line, but the liberal attempts to pitch his tent in both camps. What we think is a matter of our own jurisdiction .ut it must be "known that any attempt on qhegpart of any one group or class of peo- ple to ga.in their economic freedom at the expense of another group will fail. Those who consider themselves poor can- not hope to profit at the expense of the rich, neither can those who consider them- selves rich continue to profit at the ex- pense of the poor. There must be unity-"- there must be courage to manifest the true universal brotherhood of man, based upon those principals which are of direct bene- fit to one and all alike. Much has been said in recent weeks about “Production for Use”. It would be well to observe that all the wealth of goods that has ever been produced in the United States has been produced for use, but unequally distributed. Therefore, the slogan “Production for Use” means little, until we give our direct attention to the priblem of distribution. The Distribution of goods is supposed to be done by what we call money. The fact that money in the hands of the few fails to distribute goods to the many, represents the point of our national problem. The whole body of the American people will be obliged, sooner or later, to com- pletely abolish money as we now know it and then establish an equitable system of distribution which cannot fail to deliver the goods for use after they have been pro- duced. If we may be permitted to repeat the facts, there are an exact number of peo- ple in the United States——we know exact- ly how many goods they can produce by operating the farms and factories at 100 per cent capacity and we know how many hours of human effort .are necessary to produce the goods. These facts, to use Fa.- ther Divine’s phrase, “Are too stout to be denied”, and no amount of political expe- dient, financial opinion, codes, creeds, votes or other arguments can ever change the facts. Man’s time is done. The facts must be faced and they have been faced in the instrument which appears on an- other page of this issue—called THE DE- CLARATION OF ECONOMIC INDEPEN- DENCE AND SECURITY, which everyone is requested to read, study. sign and mail to the duly elected President and Congress of the United States, demanding the only action which can save either the rich man or the poor man from the folly of financi- al bankruptcy. We, the people, must become wealth con- scious by recognizing the superabundance of every useable and desirable thing. VVe must likewise become conscious of that which can deliver these goods as the spirit of Universal Love dictates. FATHER DIVINE SAYS:-— “Taking the Mind of Christ as the Sample and as the Elxample.” “For this cause He came in the Body called Jesus as a Perscn, expressing and manifesting Himself to the people. It is indeed Wonderfful! Through the Life and the Teaching of Christ in Jesus, He brought out many Mysteries, but the first and the great significance was to observe the irlystery of SELF‘ DENIAL. God is in you and in each and every individual, but He cannot put forth Himself into expression, until you as individuals, through your pre-con- ceived ideas and opinions cease to func-_ tion. It is indeed Wonde:ful. That is the great mystery of God working in the midst of His people to lift them up to a higher level. It is indeed Wonderfuli God in the midst of you is MIGHTY to SAVE, but remember you must “LET GO” and be born again". The people, sup- . posedly, have expressed their preferences concerning the various candidates for of- fice everywhere. The fundamental right of every citizen to make known his desires by means of the ballot has again been ex- ercised -and the people will gain or lose, presumably, according to their wishes ex- pressed. ‘ . Underlying the mass of figures portray- ing the result, the victory or defeat of in- dividuals here or there, still remains the greater issue—justice and equality for all. If the candidates elected do not conform to this standard, do not deal justly man to man, their tenure of office will be brief, their success short lived. It has been said, “Everything works for the good of those who love the Lord.” There can thus be seen in election results only benefit to the cause of right, ultimately, whatever the appearances .may seem to the contrary. GOD in his infinite patience and wisdom will let the people have their Way, will let them blunder to the end of their rope, is so theyidesire to do. When their extremity has become great enough, when their distress has become sufficient- ly acute, they may decide to seek GOD. Armistice Day in no way holds an iota of glamour from any standpoint of mili- ' tarism. The ‘great folly” which preceede-.1 it, as in the case of all others, was: entire- ly futile, settled nothing. It was Father, cooperating with Sufi Abdul Hamid, head of a.n anti-segregation, anti-discrimination Organization, that had made this Meeting possible, and brought the people together, after a great Street Demonstration in which many thousands of Father’s Followers had marched with their banners and placards conveying Fa- ther's Message to the World at large and’ making their moderation known to all men that GOD is at hand in His Personal Bodi- ly Form, known as Father Divine. As the Speakers unanimously agreed, no such enthusiasm, and no such Meeting had ever been known in the history of the Dis- trict, and it was all done with only forty- eight hours’ notice. Father simply Spoke the Word at His New York City Head- quarters, and the multitudes appeared. The people obeyed Father’s slightest gesture or Word, and the politicians knew that it would be the same on Election Day,——if they could get Him to express Himself in their favor, every vote in the great Throng would be theirs. Therefore they bowed the knee to His Authority, and every tongue confessed it. After Speaking at the opening of the meeting, and listening to the various speakers, including Sufi Abdul Hamid, Father was called upon again, soon after midnight, "to bring the Meeting to a con- clusion, at which time He Spoke as fol- lows: ~“' “PEACE EVERYONE! I asked them to cooperate with Me, as I am a Representative of every na- tion, language, tongue and people,——asked them to cooperate with Me in putting on bus drivers that looked like Me. The ma- jority of them ignored it, and I Said, if you do not cooperate with Me I will be your Competitor. It is indeed VVonderful! They forced Me out into running a bus business Myself. It is indeed Wonderful! Not only a bus business, but we will have any and everything else! We will have Railroad trains, and Steamship lines, we will have private utilities, if the people will not deal justly among the people. I will not ask a man so much, to do what he should do, but I will just put him out of business. (A mighty demonstration from the Audience followed these Remarks.) Peace everybody! I recall one of the Bus Companies trying to say, “Why the Insur- ance Companies will not allow us to have (so and so) bus drivers’. I Said, I will see that there be bus drivers on the highways that will look justas I do! Not only that, but in every line of business and profession, will I see that all men have their equal rights and their liberty, by any means whatever. It is indeed Wonderful! This is the Mission for which I Came to the Earth, and I will not be discouraged until I shall have accomplished it. It is indeed Wonder-- ful! We want ‘more trades, and we want more business. ?_That is what We are seeking for, and we 'must have it. It is indeed Wonderful! It is Ta little unfortunate apparently, that I, in My Connections, am feeding around twenty- five hundred in and around New York City only,——daily. I am Speaking about ‘FEEDING THEM ABSOLUTELY FREE. '1 am feeding around twenty-five hundred, and around New York City, absolutely ifree, yet I am not endorsing this act of ichalfity as being the Fundamental. I am -trying to get them out of the ruts, out of ‘e murks and mires of human slothful— ess and impracticality. It is indeed Won- erful! While they are unforunate to be ut of ‘work, and out of money naturally, will give them something to ea.t and a place to sleep,—it is indeed Wonderful,——— -Flbut the great thing is for our Government to give’ men work to do, and cause them to A more practical, cause them to be more ompetent, cause them to be more self- .-3s1'1PP0rting and self—protecting. By so do- g, we can lift up a standard of moral etterment far above our fore-ancestors, ; far above those that have gone on before, because we are here in this light of Ci- :'v_'ilization where we should be able to lift up a moral standard, and a moral Christian Movement universally, above our pre- ' ecessors. It is indeed Wonderful! ._GOD WILL ‘PERMIT IT It is such a privilege to live in this re- nition. As I Say daily, I came to eradi- te and dispel from our cities, and from Hui‘ towns, and even from our Country, all ‘vice and crime of every kind, from the highest Ofiicials down to the crap shoot- “rs on the streets. It is indeed Wonderful! is I will Do, if GOD will Permit, for it permissible and I have permitted it. ‘In conclusion I wish to Say as I afore- aid, they forced Me out into doing things self. If men and women that are filling "3 Office and the different Ocices of our ty Government, and State, and Country, lnot do that which is according to the irlents, why we will work in a way, legal- . but we will accomplish it and compel m to do it. It is indeed Wonderful! ,,We are not representing law-violations. I can see it by My daily expression, by 4y Deeds, and by My Actions, the same as ht. There may be around ten thou- vonstitution and according to the Amend-. tder the sound of My Voice, but if it were fifty thousand, they would be control- led by the Spirit of Peace, and we would not and do not, even so much as need a policeman. Do you not see the great my- stery of this great Universal Mind, and the Spirit of Peace that has Dominion among the people? Even the Cosmic of Nature, they work in perfect harmony with Me. On Sunday afternoon, by your honored Leader, I endorsed his activities, and I Said I WOULD have someone as a Rep- resentative, in this Assembly and in thi.s Demonstration of this Evening. It is indeed Wonderful! But remember, I knew the weather would be agreeable, as the weath- er MUST obey. It is indeed Wonderful! The Cosmic Forces of Nature, they must obey Me. It is indeed VVonderful! DO RIGHT IF YOU WANT TO STAY But as your honored Speaker says, here, unless the Officials cooperate with Me, I will MOVE THEM OUT OF OFFICE. The is exactly what I will do,, for ‘The Blood has paid it all’.—the sacrifice of th.e Life, counts. It has atoned for the establishment of the Kingdom of GOD on Earth among men, that the kingdom of this World might come to an end, and that the Kingdom of our GOD and His CV1.-a;'.. migh: have liti- cess among them. (‘Yes F_ather’,—came the mighty witnessing of the vast Audience.) Peace everybody! There are many things I could Say,, but time will not permit at this juncture, as the time is well spent, ~ but I further wish to convey just this Thought. Remember, I do not mean to say that the Government and Governments of our present Civilization, SHOULD BE nor WOULD BE abolished, but they MULT be- come to be the Kingdom of our GOD and His Christ. John saw it, and he declared it. He said,—‘The kingdoms of this World have become the Kingdom of our GOD and His Christ.’ It is indeed VVonderful! GOD is not represented‘ as a Person, to Rule on the Throne, but as a Principle, as the Fun- damental, to get in your Officials,——this man, and this man, and this Woman,—— (pointing to some of the ca:ndidates,)—to Rule and Control the Government. If they neglect to do that which is just and right, I will move them out of office. If these Officials and Candidates, if they are elected, will fill the Offices accord- ing to the Gospel, yea according to the Scripture, then andthere I will Cooperate with them, and Christ will Rule on the Throne of their minds, and will make their hearts His ‘abiding Home’. That is the my- stery. This is the mystery! This is the purpose for which I Came. and I_ have around twenty million with Me. Right here in New York City, and around New York City. I think I have enough to bear wit- ness of Me. It is indeed Wonderful! LET CHRIST RULE Christ should'Rule on the Throne of the minds of men. I am not seeking an Office, nor Honor as a Person, but as a Prin- ciple I present Myself to the Inhabitants of the Earth, that they too, as well as you, might be partakers of this Identical, that they might execute »a Righteous Judge- ment, and Judge tine people with equity. This is My»-avvork, this is My Mission. It is indeed Wonderful! Now take these Thoughts to considera- tion. Live in this recognition, and the very Spirit of My Presence will be with you in your Official duties, if you will cooperate with Me and deal justly according to our Constitution. I would like to say in con»- clusion,—The Assembly here this Evening, as I ‘Said to Professor Hamid on Sunday afternoon when we met for the interview, after the invitation to Speak here this Evening,-—I Said, I will see if‘ I can get a few to cooperate with Me. It is indeed Wonderful! I will Speak the Word, and ten thousand will respond immediately. It is indeed Wonderful! It is because they have an abundance of Faith in Me. It is indeed Wonderful! That is why they say, ‘GOD Alone shall Reign’. Goo MAKES THINGS RIGHT We know we have the victory over all adversities. All negative and- slanderous statements and adverse advertising, only establish Me. Every knock is a boost, every criticism is a Praise. The masses of the people know what I am Doing for them. They know I have brought to them a new Day. and freed them as never before. I further wish to Say in connection with My Work, I don't care if you are a mil- lionaire, you can live in the City of New York, if you are willing to be meek enough to cooperate with this Movement, for from five to ten dollars a week at the most. I have m.ade the Way possible. that men can live in this City for as small an amount as "five dollars a week, or five-fifty a week, ——live independantly, without solicitation, without begging, but paying the prices for whatsoever theyieat. I Thank you. “Peace everybody! I would just like to say, we have" in hand a Publication kno as The Spoken Word. It is a Commercial Paper published in California, not by My Representative but by the California Eagle. They are publishing this Paper _carrying My Message. It is a Commercial Paper, and they are selling it. I am not Personal- ly selling itfbut they sell this Paper for five cents a copy. I purchased a quantity, and I had Thought of giving them out to- night. I brought them over for the purpose of giving them as a free distribution to the Public, but owing to the fact that the Leader and Guider of this Meeting,—«as this was not My Meetinig in part,-—~—did not take up a collection in respect for Me, I have decided to give him these “Papers, as many as we have here, to give out free, and allow him to sell them to help pay as much as it will, in paying for the rent of this Auditorium. Now you all know I never take a col- lection. I have not asked a man to give Me a penny, and even if a. person sends Me money as a bill, through the mail, I im- mediately return it. It is indeed Wonder- ful! These are facts and figures too stout to be denied, and it can be verified by the Officials of this City and other Cities, that have made investigation. WE SILLY IMORTALS F0O'IlBALL GAMES AND RADIOS A radio blares blatantly into our some- what unresponsive ears the account of a football game. Thousands of people huddle around a little mahogany box from which pours the sound of an excited voice giving a seemingly endless array of figures and statistics. Now and then the monotonous cadences are punctuated with a high pitched and agitated account of some particularly thrilling occurence, amplified considerably by the imagination of the announcer. We remember K-oftimessitting in huge stadiums filled with from fifty to a hundred thousand leather lunged, pop-eyed, humans to cheer the antics of a small knot of men, baely- visible, as through a microscope, down on the greensward below. As the game progressed we generally managed by some expedient to create for ourselves an atmos- phere of rather artifical. enthusiasm, con- vinced ourselves before the end of the af- fair that we were really vitally concerned in the result and had in truth enjoyed a huge afternoon. The mere presence of a great crowd of people, the tireless efforts of the band with its ear-splitting prepon- derance of brass, the general color, etc., made it the thing for us to do. After the shouting is over, the result de- termined, there is the 1etdown—the feeling of something yet to be experienced or felt which seems to be always, like the grapes in the case of the fox, just beyond our reach. The great game Passes into the discard of forgotten things, the only reminder being a set of cold, meaningless, statistics. Like sheep the populace follow a will of the wisp, seek to create an atmosphere of emotion, to build something to engage their attention as a means of diversion. The futility of it all lies in the eiiort to create something, magnify man’s importance physically to a de- gree far beyond its actual significance. In- dividuals are idolized because of some ap- parent physical prowess greater than that of another, a prowess which is for the most part, empty and unprofitable other than for the moment. Sitting in the dark, millions watch in theatres, some shadows jumping about on a screen. Photographic images resembling humans appear to be doing all manner of things, going through every manner of ex- perience, indulging in dialogue of an arti- ficial and inane nature, all part of the created, pageant of life, the desperate search for diversion, distraction, a glit- tering glamour of unreality that life does not and never can offer. They come to see the images on the screen as so real that they experience literally and actually the feelings and emotions of the characters before them. And so continues the cease- less quest of man to entertain himself. The glamour of life as portrayed on the silver sheet, the artificial emotional stimu- lus built up at a sporting event, is the ex- act opposite of the real, the genuine, the true state of existence. These artificial di- versions are but a counterfeit of .the real. Entertainment by proper appreciation and understanding of the mystery of life, di- version attained through discovery of the TRUTH, is an ever‘ present reality brought about through no effort of creation. True values and likewise diversion do not have to be created. When the TRUTH is understood univer- sally, the great crowds will still gather, the music will still swell upon the air, hu- mans will still engage in spirited activity, but the element of competition, the false sense of glamour created by a procedure essentially wrong in principle, will have been relegated to the discard where it real- ly belongs. People will really LIVE, will be vitally and radiantly happy every min- ute of their existence, without the slight- est effort at creation of a diversion. The di- version will just BE. The aftermath, the eventual contact with the stern reality of our present warped and futile pattern of living, which is the ‘great void’ in our present activities, will be no more. The instinct of humans to get together in fellowship, to congregate together in throngs is a true one, and commendable. The scene of action, the form of drama be- ing enacted on the stage will be changed, with none of the true pleasures and joys removed. Let all the world sing, dance, engage in lively activity, but in the way which GOD decreed. The little mahogany box, known as the radio, is one of GOD'S gifts to mankind, as a medium of expression. As a medium of expression it will be glorified and uti- lized as .a true channel. Instead of the jangle of inanities which pour from it to- day, the mass of inconsequential drivel, will come forth the beautiful, the real, and .the uplifting. For even the radio cannot escape the great transforming influence now abroad in the land.’ I AM the Broadcasting Principle of Life. It was the Spirit of that most important Attribute or Characteristic of Mary that went out from Jesus when the woman touched the hem of the garment and that was the healing balm for the woman, yea it is the healing balm for the whole world. VAC recent report of aigroup of California Scientists disclosed-the ‘discovery of vast caves believed to be part of a subterranean “honeycomb,” extending from Nevada across Southern California to~Mexico, cav- erns rivaling the famed Carlsbad Caverns of New Mexico. Whilethe. discovery of these caverns of in- calculable spread reaching out in every di- rection for a distance as yet undetermined, is of very recent date, the existance of some of the caves may have been known to Indian tribes or even to prehistoric peoples who rovedthis great expanse of open country many hundreds of years ago. The exploration party of geologists gained access to the caverns through a hole in the earth very near the peak of a limestone mountain at an altitude of 6000 feet. Queer formations of metamorphosed limestone, sandstone and shale dating back to the Paleozoic Age surround the cavern’s mouth. Great heaps of schist, granite and gneiss, remnants of the Mesozoic Age are piled around and partially over the gas vent, while deposits of; lakewsand and chemical salts were foundat lower levels. _ , ,__ By dropping 200 feet by a rope through a’ narrow crevice the party reached the larger rooms where stalactites and stalag- mites were found in abundance, some sta1ac— tites measuring 20 ’ feet and of unsurpassed beauty. -While the bewildering labyrinth as yet has been only partially explored, in the lower reaches; many_ spacious natural rooms were some of thesermore than 50 feet square. In many of the chambers stalactites hang from the ceiling 30 feet high. The largest room found as yet is 300 feet by 100 feet and 90' feet high. found, Rushing winds and the rumble of unseen water support the contention that some to"- rential hidden river has burrowed a subter- rannean channel. According to geologists, the entire region is of convulsive origin. Some believe its formation due to volcanic action, others claim earthquakes or some unknown un- derground convulsion of tremendous force, to be responsible. A volcanic crater, des- ii CA0 ing DiscoveryiMadc.JiByp.Scientists Under Mojave Desert cribed as having been active as recently as 1000 years ago,‘ exists near Amboy, some 60 miles from the caverns. I The “new” caves‘ are quite accessable to tourists as..they lie near the Nevada state line,‘just inside San Bernardino County. U. S. Highway No. 66 may be taken to Essex. Near ‘ Essex a ‘turn is made onto a dirt road which winds 28 miles to the moun- tainous section just off the resert inwhish the caves are located. The great wonders of the world are not yet known to mankind as this discovery in- dicates and as we turn away from our quest of gold_ and cease to worship the “golden calf” as we did when we were with Moses, wonders beyond present human imagination will be revealed. ‘The Great Creative FATHER has so many marvelous things for His Children to view and enjoy, it might be wisdom for all whether Christian or not, to look to the SOURCE of all things and truly live. In the wide open spaces of the great wes- tern empire of this country, and in divers other places throughout the world, appears something that intrigues the imagination of almost everyone. That something is the mirage. The dictionary describes a mirage as, “an optical atmospheric illusion by which the image of a distant object is seen as if inverted.” How many of us have been driv- ing along on a warm day and beheld water on a dry road or lakes in the distance? One of the most interesting developments in the study of this phenomenon is the abili- ty to photograph the mirage. This was ac- complished by two herdsmen in Hungary- On the plains of Hungary it is nothing un- usual to see a distant village, herds of cattle, men, trees, buildings, etc., and nature so magnifies the images that they appear to be only a short distance away. The pictures mentioned were not taken by scientists, although many have tried, but by the herders of swine. The herdsmen Watched with due respect as the learned men came from Budapest, with their expensive cam- eras, but after a few days they had to go back without a glimpse, much less a photo- graph of the famous “visions” that used to throw their ancestors into religious ecstasies and terror. Two of the herdsmen bought small, cheap cameras, and succeeded because they were always there. The great flat almost treeless plains, called “Pusztas” get very monoton- ous to these people who welcome the fre- quent but unpredictable appearances in the sky. They have become experts at recog- nizing these apparitions of things that are more than a day’s journey away- This type of mirage works on the same principle as the glass lens or prism, like the trick, water has, of making an oar that is stuck into it seem bent. When light passes from a light, transparent substance to a denser one, at an angle, the rays bend in the direction of the denser medium. There are some exceptions, certain substances though lighter in weight, are “denser optically.” Cold air, being denser than warm, acts to a degree as glass does, causing astonishing things to happen. ' Often, the mist never develops into any- thing else because it is only an apparent accident when the air layers happen to be just right. When they do, perhaps the first to appear is a dark blurred object, like a vehicle seen through a poorly focussed tele- scope. The herdsmen find amusement gues- sing what the image is to be. Sometimes it looks as if it will be the Doctor’s car. But when the vision becomes clearer, it reveals the shimmering outlines of Mrs. So and So’s carriage and two horses. And they wonder why she does not buy a car, for she has so much money. Then again, it may be a soundless train of cars, travelling through the heavens, perhaps right side up, r as perhaps bottom side up and puffing smoke downward from the stack. The herdsmen know they will have to travel all day to get within real sight or sound of that phantom train. Another remarkable photograph is an Alaskan mirage, taken by Mr. Lyman R. French. Above the barren glacier appeared clear and distinct, aspectral city, with well laid streets,_ trees, buildings and what ap- peared to be ancient mosques or cathedrals Such a city might in Asia. These mirages are common, only in certain parts of the world, but they can and doubtless do hap- pen anywhere. The writer has driven many times over the Ariz. desert and has experienced these visions- Oftimes a gleaming ship will ap- pear, and again a sailing vessel spread in all its glory. Once a dim city appeared among the sage brush and cactus, a city as in ancient times such as the writer had never seen even in pictures. It almost made one imagine they were living in an unseen world or that they had always lived and were just approaching some familiar place. As sailing vessels are somewhat rare these days and as the vessel mentioned was of ancient vintage, here is indeed food for thought. In the book of Ezekial it tells us “That which Was IS and that which is to be now IS.” What a small, insignificant being mortal man really is in his present limited state of consciousness. Small wonder he suffers from lack, depression, sorrow, dis- ease, and death in his limited and narrow idea of God’s glorious world. When we finally reach that high state of consciousness, and realize that God is now here, to teach and lead us out of limitations 01 all descriptions. His wondrous world will be revealed to us. Then we will actually see these so-called mirages. We will travel through space at a now inconceivable rate of speed, because the veil ‘will be lifted and we will see, act, and think as God first intended we should when He created‘ man to have dominion over all the land. It is so Wonder- ful, so colossal, that those of His children who LISTEN and accept wh.at Father is now offering us, will behold this New Heav- en and New Earth with its hidden myster- ies revealed, for the former things (including limitation) will have passed away! Honest Weight and Prices Right THANK YOU, FATHER Case of‘Undei-world Character __________________ __ ‘In these days of dwindling profits and apparent business stagnation, the big busi- ness man can take a leaf from the book of Faithful Mary. Formerly a character of the underworld, without either education or the least business experience, hardly able to read or write, she has today under her im- mediate jurisdiction a “Divine business,” ‘which might well be the admiration of any captain of industry. . Less than nineteen months ago Faithful Mary was staggering about the streets of the Fourth Precinct in Newark, New Jersey, a hopeless drunkard. Today she has under her jurisdiction nine extensions, numerous busses and automobiles, the supervision of hundreds, an income which belies “hard times. With an apparent ease, lack of ef- fort, the mighty work of reclaiming Har- lem, is being done by Father Divine, thru this most humble servant, with an efficiency which is a striking example to business men, an economic “miracle,” as it were. Few of the business executives who scurry about the streets of the metropolis are aware of the drama being enacted right under their very noses! _ The work being carried on through Faith- ful Mary, with headquarters at 160 West 126th Street, New York City, is not dore for the purpose of profit, and gain is en- tirely lost in the greater mission and joy of ‘ serving the seemingly unfortunate. In the City of Newark, N. J., before her transfer of activities to New York, Faithful Mary fed 96,000 of the hungry, absolutely free, in the same streets in which she had obtained her food from garbage cans. Now in N. Y. City no estimate is available of the increased number being fed daily there. It is conser- vative to say that it is in the neighborhood of a hundred thousand or more a year with the number steadily mounting. And thlt without the taking of collections or do- nations in any form! To those possessing sufficient money to purchase their own meals, dinners are avail- able for ten and fifteen cents, an amount hardly ‘able, apparently, to cover the cost of the meals. The meat bill frequently runs $100 and $140 a day, on a few occasions where large banquets were served such as at White Plains, it has been as high as $500 for the day. This isialways paid for in cash at the time of delivery, which is only another surprising feature of the “Divine business.” The menu generally consists of chicken daily and it has always been the policy to make the portions generous. It is indeed a far cry‘ to the day when Faithful Mary scratched about in the garbage can for a morsel of food. There are nine extensions under the di- rection of Faithful Mary. The total rent of all nine places amounts to about one thou- sand dollars a month. It is a source of A mystification to Harlem banks to observe- the _ rent for these places paid always two —.r Case Former Underworld Character,A LessonIni Eusiiness months in advance when business concerns find it difficult to meet even their smallest obligations on time, if at all. ‘Even the merchants of the locality have developed a wholesome respect for this former -charac- ter of the underworld and call heriwhen -they need employees knowing the competence and reliability of FATHER ;.DIVINE’S followers. They have not failed to notice ' . either the success and efficiency with which -. her “business” is carried on.-' -I -« - The case of Faithful Mary demonstrates beyond doubt, as do the other true exten- sions of FATHER DIVINE that it is an economic factor as well as aispiritual reality, which is commanding rapidly the attention of the entire world.’ The peculiar’ “law” which makes it possible for one to replace the profit in business with the ideal of ser- vice, letting GOD or the “law” give the in- evitable increase, makes it possible the suc- cess of business conducted along such lines. But there are many other evidences of effi- ciency and wisdom visible throughout these extensions- In the basement of the 126th St. Ex- tension is a bakery shop, where pies and cakes may be enjoyed- There is a tailor shop where suits are pressed and cleaned for 25 and 30 cents. Upstairs is a barber- shop where a follower makes himself profit- able by cutting hair for ten cents. A seam- stress works on the second floor constantly turning aut half dozen dresses a day for the occupants of the Kingdom. Six or seven sisters make four or five quilts a day for the hundreds of beds in the different extensions. All working happily, peacefully, contentedly, with the joy of rendering a practical ser- vice. Their profit isitheir satisfaction and pleasure at the opportunity of helping their brother and sister. Four and five hundred yards of cloth are sometimes purchased from which sheets and pillow cases are made. Who says GOD is not a practical GOD, a Vb tangible reality here and now? We could go on indefinitely about the wonderful little world surrounding Faithful Mary but space does not permit. . Last February she was able to send bus to California and return filled with fol- lowers of FATHER DIVINE. Outside the extensions in New York can often be seen several of the trucks or busses, private cars and limousines, at her service. All this has been accomplished and given to her without the personal intercedence of FATHER DIVINE, without his doing any- thing for her directly, as a person. It was obedience to His Spirit and Teaching which brought to Faithful Mary the limitless bless- ings she now enjoys. Her amazing healing came about before she had as much spoken to FATHER DIVINE as a person. When anyone tries to compliment Faithful Mary on her great success and number of blessings she merely smiles an innocent, childlike, smile and shrugs her generous ehoulders admitting that she doesn't know ‘ -w how it all came about except that she just stepped aside and let it. All honor and glory for the resurrection and elevation, of Faithful Mary goes ‘to FATHER’ :DI_VINE. The“; wisdom and knowledge being -transmitted through that channel‘ .is His. Under Lincoln and a member of his cabinet during his administration, was Secretary of State Seward. Now Seward was a. well. educated man while Lincoln had no education other than that which he had been able to gain nim- _ self in his homespun way. Lincoln had writ- ten an important address to Congress which he had shown to Seward before pre- 0 senting it to that body. After examining it Seward stated that, “the grammar is poor and might bear improvement.” Whereupon, Lincoln replied, “Well you’re an educated man, l.ook it over, and correct it. I only want the meaning and significance made clear.” A That night Seward took the address home with the intentions of revisisnig It. The next morning, however, he returned to the White House, bleary eyed and showing the evidences of a heavy night. Lincoln encountering him asked, “Did you fix up the address?” Somewhat weakly, Seward answered, “No. I spent the entire night trying to change it but THAT’S THE ONLY WAY IT CAN BE EXPRESSED.” Another amusing story told about the great emancipator during the Civil War tells of how Lincoln had gathered his cab- inet of eight men togethcrto discuss a subject on which a decision needed to be made immediately. To choose wrongly mighty mean defeat. After the discussion was over, Lincoln took the poll of the cab- inet to determine where they stood. Eight of the members ‘voted “aye” but Lincoln voted “nay”. But announcing the result of the poll Lincoln said, “The vote stands eight “ayes” .and one “nay” and the “nays” have it. The cabinet members felt that he was somewhat high handed to take his mini- mum stand against such an overwhelming- ing majority but before the day had closed they learned that Lincolns decision had saved the day. This unswerving determination to stand for right in the face of any odds is an eloquent testimony of the value of using your own ‘highest intution’ in all things. ROOSEVELT, AND TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON, D. C. GREETINGS: The undersigned does hereby 5°l°m"ly proclaim his Declaration of Economic Independence and Security, as follows: Down thru the ages, despite the malad- iustments of human experience, we recognize and aeknowlede the PERPETUAL FLOW OF ALL LIGHT, ALL HEAT AND ALL POWER FROM THE ONE SUPREME SOURCE OF ITS CREATION AND EXISTENCE. To this originating Principle and Omni Science, we are indebted for the very presence of life itself. the will to live, the human intelligence, every natural resource, every material substance and every mental or spiritual ability‘ ever demonstrated by or known to man. We assert that every system or device that Operates, 0|’ that may be operated, to the satisfaction of man, derives both its virtue and its power from the veritatfle Nature of the Universe and that such devices are the demonstrated evidence of the practical scientific reality of that power; contra.rl- wise, we conclude that whatever fails to deliver satisfaction in accord with the demands of humanity must be erroneous, impractical and invalid. By virtue of these facts, every proposition designed to bolster or support the present unsatisfactory and unscientific financial structure must be foredoomed to failure. Such proposals merely postpone the date of financial collapse; they but serve to continue the present inhuman distress and perpetuate the present economic chaos which rocks the people of our Nation, from the least of us to the greatest. The physical existence of abundant supplies is the gift of Nature, to which is applied the natural efforts and the intelligence of man. We cannot escape the proposition that the actual basis of value for goods, services, money, credit and the socalled wealth of the World is humanity itself. It is obvious that all evidences of material wealth, available to or produced by man ‘ must be made use of by man and that such productions can have no other use or value. Practically any desirable amounts of goods, services, or material wealth may be produced to meet the public demand thereof. Accordingly it is desirable that all actual, possible and anticipated production of goods or other forms of material wealth shall find adequate and equitable distribution among all the people. Therefore, we the people of The United States of America, in accord with and by virtue of our right under the Constitution thereof, do ‘hereby command, that there be -set in motion immediately, a mechanism, precise- ly designed and herein specified as UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY, to equitably distribute that wealth according to the following requirements. That the money income of every Citizen and of the Government of the United States on and after January 1, 1935 shall be ex- pressed in terms of UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY issued by the Treasurer of the United States upon the basis of, and maintained in, constant balance with available goods and services so that at‘ no time thereafter shall there be either more goods than money or more money than goods outstanding. It is further required that all productive equipment, productive land, transportation facilitiesland the entire ,wealth pro- ducing and distributing capacity within the boundaries and the iurisdiction of the United States of America and its possessions, shall forthwith be operated at full demand capacity, continuously and at the highest possible rate of efficiency-; and that as many capable people as there are jobs to be done shall be chosen and assigned to the tasks of planning, supervising, coordinating, maintaining and improving this whole productive capacity in the public interest; trhat the total number of hours of human effort necessary to carry on at full pace shall be distributed evenly over the total number of capable people available for that purpose so that there shall be no imposition upon or neglect of any person or groups of persons; that each and every person, separately and individually, regardless of age, race, creed, sex or vocation and regardless Of employment of Unemployment, ability or disability shall be provided, by t_he Treasurer of the United States, with UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY by which he or she may obtain at will, his or her equitable quota of the goods, services, comforts, entertainment, conveniences and luxuries that are produced and available; that all persons male or female over twenty—five years of age and not over forty-five shall be classified for assignment to productive employment and subject to call when, if and as needed: that persons over forty-five years of age shall be classified as retired and not subject to call for productive work except in case of emergency. They may however, work ifthey so desire. Persons under twenty-five years of age ‘shall be classified as minors or students, not subject to call for productive work except in case of emergency. The quota of goods or services available to each and every person shall be established, not upon any basis of service rendered, but upon his or her signified willingness to render his or her apportionment of service, when if and as such services are required. The quote of goods or services so established shall be the allowable maximum, determined periodhaily by actual production statistics and allocated to each and every man, woman and child, according to age, classification and an amount of UNITED STATES G0V2ERNl‘viE.NT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY equivalent to such quota shall be issued and paid regularly, from birth throughout his or her life, to each person on the first day of every month by the Treasurer of the United States. except that his full quota shall not be paid to any able person who shall refuse or neglect to properly render his proportioned service. It is required that his particular money shall represent that person’s individual quota and that it be surrendered by him in exchane for available goods or services according to. his particular choice. It shall be mechanically impossible for any person to spend, manipulate or otherwise make use of any other person’s4money' or goods-availability. Each issue of UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY shall bear a one year's expiration date. Money so issued and not spent or used on or before its particular expiration date shall be null and void thereafter. It is further required that ample reserves of raw materials and finished goods be set aside before other distribution, to offset possible later d°ll°l°“°l°5 Wlllch might OGGUI’ by reason Of dl'0U9l'It. fife eafthquake. flood , or other unforseen failures of production or distribution and to provide for exchanges with other Countries whose goods and services or travel accommo-dations we may require. It is required that the past five year net average money income of those few persons now in possession of large holdings shall forthwith be converted into the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURcHASE-MONEY equivalent thereof and that such amounts shall be guaranteed and paid to them annually for life by the Treasurer of the United States according to the express will of the people as herein set forth. It is pro-posed that the present owners of industrial plants and/or other real property retain title to and management of such holdings, if they so desire, on condition that such properties be operated at full demand capacity production and efficiency in the public interest. it is understood that these comparatively few guaranteed excess incomes constitute valid claims against available goods. but that with the Nation operating at full production capacity such excess incomes can be paid with ease and still allow an immediate minimum goods wealth quota for every other person over twenty-five years of age equivalent to not less than one thousand dollars per month per capita. Under the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY mechanism herein set forth, the rights of real property, such as individual home ownership, church ownership and/or corporate enterprise need not and must not be cancelled or threatened. It is self evident that the exchange value of UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY in terms of goods or services will graduate upward in direct proportion to the increase of productive capacity such as invention, discovery, favofable weather and the expansion of Industry, acreage or mine. Downward variations cannot occur except in the event of adverse weather conditions,‘ negligence, mis-management, sabotage or destruction by fire or other violence. It is specificially required that UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE MONEY shall be issued in exact proportion to the total number of people in the United Slates and in exact ratio to the total amounts of goods and services therein produced. Non-transferable UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY cannot be manipulated, traded in, gambled with, embezzled, borrowed, loaned or otherwise lost, mis- used or misappropriated. UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT DATED-PURCHASE-MONEY serves this one purpose only: the equitable, legitimate Qransfer of goods for use from any and every point of produ-ctionlto each and every citizen wherever he or she may be located. Be it known therefore that I, the undersigned, a Citizen of the United States of America, do hereby publish and declare that I will, in accord with this Declaration of Economic Independence and Security by the people of this, my Country, as hereinabove stated, deliver to the commonwealth when, if and as called, my proper proportion of the labor, skill and energy at my cqmmand, necessary to operate the United States of America as a consolidated pro. duction unit, at full demand capacity and with the greatest possible efficiency; and that I do hereby propose and agree to accept in return therefor,‘ my equitable proportion of such goods and services as are or shall be produced. And so, with a firm reliance upon the Supreme intelligence which I hold to be. the source of Life and all Creation, I hereby pledge my life, my fortune and my honor to the support of this Declaration of_ Economic Independence and Security. - lam )aregistered and NAME I am not yet ) qualified voter . crrv STATE (Copyrighted 1934 by Roy Gene Owens) \ ‘ rtants of this village; .t:fs_-'i';lL.;_L5 "n,-lane A About twelve years ago, in the little town of Sayville, Long Island, Rev. M. J. V Divine, better known to his millions of be- lievers as FATHER DIVINE, set up a table in the midst ofhis enemies and in- ‘vited hisfriends to dine. From near and far, they came to enjoy his hospitality" and partake of the abun- dance of good things at his table, which was free. Time passed and the “world beat a path to his door.” A grapevine perhaps grew from a neigh- bor’s yard, overlapping into that of FA- THER, figuratively speaking, the residents of the little village thought they resented the presence of this meek and lowly indi- vidual. The events which followed are known to’ all—-the court proceedings, the ‘demise of the judge, the complete and pow- rerful victory of FATHER DIVINE I over his adversaries! ' The little town went on about its routine ;'life, the rancor still present in the hearts of some. But “a city that is built on a hill cannot be hid,” and the world called this J ' individual, known as the Rev. M. J. Divine, ‘forth to assume before all, HIS MIGHTY OFFICE. ' The. visitor today to the town of Sayville will .still _find 4the"‘residence of FATHER .DIVINE at 72 Macon Street, While his ac- . tivities have now become world wide, FA- THER still repairs ‘now ,_and again to the unassuming but spacious SAYVILLE home. But the effort to‘ drive FATHER DI- VINE from Sayville, in the Fall of 1931, has had its repercussions. From one of the ‘most prosperous villages on Long Island, H. ‘Sayville is rapidly becoming decadent, its lands desolate. Little did the blind inhabi- 7 almost within a stone’s throw, of New York, realize that - ‘they were rejecting the one who was later ‘»_to_. be acclaimed by twenty millions as the ..personification of GOD in the Fathership Degree according to .the prophecy of Re- f -velation 21:3, 4, “Behold the tabernacle of ’ GOD .is with men.” Instead of repressing his. activities, the attempt to do so, was Lifmerely a means of establishing a world- .'”wide movement. ' SAPOLITICAL MEETING BECOMES j SONG OF PRAISE 1 1 A letter received from _a San Francisco correspondent tells of an interesting oc- . ‘-curence at a recent political meeting held * ‘there. It seems an invitation was receiv- ed by some of FATHER DIVINE’S follow- fleirs, from the headquarters of one of tile ,’.*pro'minent candidates for Governor, to at- ffltend a meeting. Seats were reserved for some ‘two hundred and our friend tells us that ere the evening elapsed songs of " praise to FATHER DIVINE as well as testimonies were given.
