Description: Portrait of Emma Beck standing inside a grape vine covered arbor near her family home in the village of Homestead. Fence in background is wire on wooden frame and Beck is dressed in a dress that, while dark and somewhat plain, clearly shows the outside influences creeping into the community around the late 1910s when this image was taken, probably by Jacob F. Selzer (1888-1917).
Description: Postage paid postcards to plants advising them how much of the fruit they should be expecting due to the growing season. Several already have "crabapple" typed in. 26 copies.
Description: Shows north facade of Dr. William Moershel house in Homestead. Postcard, ca. 1906, never mailed. Back of card has a penciled notation identifying the house (made by Peter Hoehnle). Photo dates from circa 1910.
Description: Frame house with family of six grouped around entrance. Woman in black is probably Martha Hergert Schaedlich (1878-1950), who was the kitchen boss. Picture probably the work of Jacob Selzer. (A really good example of a typical Amana house faade)
