Description: This photograph is of the Mount Lebanon North Family Shakers in the Grove. Although Alden was a Pittsfield, Massachusetts photographer, his work on the Shakers is of those at Mount Lebanon. His photos were done in 1880 or 1881.

Inscriptions: Handwritten on back: Carpenter Shop and Implement Shed. Two story frame, 6 bay carpenter shop with one side of first story open. Barn-boarded and battened walls, box cornices. Gable roof with slate roofing. Dirt floor in 5 bays, with wooden floor in end bay. Second floor on joists. One finished room first floor with sheathed walls and ceilings. Exterior painted lead and oil. Prison Farm, Enfield, Ct.
Inscriptions: Handwritten on back: Carry-all of the Shaker family at Enfield, Ct. acquired by the State when it bought the plant for the use of the Ct. State prison, at which time this farm was renamed Osborn Farm.
