Description: Picture showing the two buildings of the Amana School. The building on the left is currently part of the Amana Heritage Museum. The image is 3 1/4 square and is mounted on a gray embossed card that is 5.5 square. No date or markings (other that my own identification on back), but likely 1890s.
PC#27 The bird house and original aviary built in 1905 (still stands 2011). Benjamin Purnell is to the left but the fiure in white nearby is NOT Mary. The structures to the right to house Australian birds and animals was removed by 1906 to build the original ice cream parlour that was later converted into a tailor’s shop by 1908; the structure no longer exists.
