TIME: 8:45 P. M. , It could be said that the great WHORK of GOD ALMIGHTY has just begun, for in these days of world crises the world is beginning to real— ize that everything else has failed and it must turn to GOD as its last and only hope. ,~Thus the UNIFYING PROCESS of the SAVIOR. of all mankind, FATHER DIVINE, is gaining the :recognition of his -instruments, the chief exec- utives of every nation and country. If they can ' ~ only be made to see that it is an IMPERSONAL matter, and CHRIST as a PRINCIPLE must rule over every nation, tongue and people, this UNIVERSAL LOVE will bring them all to- gether and save civilization from perishing from the earth. In His first stirring Message during the first great Mass Meeting of the winter season at Rockland Palace, FATHER gave to the world His proposal for national and international de- fense, as .this problem is uppermost in the minds» of those who presumably control the nations’ affairs. If accepted and put into e:f« feet, this UNITING of the three Americas will be a niighty defense against invaislon Mr" hell» .lige:re:n,t’ na.tions, without the expense of arinas menyt and the bloodshed and futile war; and ‘not only will fPE.A.CE served, but the UNITEI) REPUBLICS OF‘ AMER.ICA under the ONE I’)ElVIOCRACY, will be absolutely i.ndependen.t of all other countries and will enjoy the prosperity of its combined, natural resources. . For Thy IN'F_INITE WISIDOM, dear LORD, we thank Thee! in ‘ ‘ ‘ (The foregoing state1’n.ents are those of the transcriber, and F.AT.HER’S follows.) PEACE, EVERYONE! Here we all are again and there I sit and stand; here I go and there I come in each and every one! At this instance I would just like to say, whilst we are here under the spirit and cone trol of a real democracy, all people are welcome to speak by moving volitionally as we do, if they care to; whilst yet it is My custom to be mindful how we entertain strangers, whereby some have entertained angelsunaware. It is for this cause I have arisen to say," desire to hear what they have to say. Even though I do not bore you Personally, there whilst we have Visiting friends with us, we may -be some boring done by ‘those who clainii to be My followers, for we ‘are looking for facts and figures, sornethingthat his ,a reality. I If there are any of My follo.,wers,l by. their. H‘ «- eAew@ o , i su_fif‘e:riin.g of a be 1J‘|_"S'-M religious conviction or by their personal or professional activities through and by My ‘SPIRIT, who have been lifted or have lifted some other person or persons, whereby they stand as a sample_ and as an example, bei_ng unique in every man_ner ‘of expression, why then, we are glad to hear from them. But it is something to consider. I I feel, if I could not produce and demonstrate something that is unique, something that is more than mortal to command, I would rather hear someone else who can. But at this par-= ticular instance I may refrain from speaking to give our visiting friends a chance to speak, if they care to. Of course, to our visiting friends, as well as others who are called My followers, I wish to say, we will not allow the acts of your doings or the refusal of you to speak or express yourselves, to retard the un~ foldment of the mystery of My ACTUAL PRESENCE, nor retard the advances My SPIR-= IT is making. ’I‘he Spirit Is Going 011 If you care to speak, as visiting friends you are welcome to do so, but do not think I will allow your refusal to spea.k to retard th_e ad- vancement and the unfoldment of My SPIRIT; for My SPIRIT will do it with all of the damp- ers that may be turned on.- If all of the drafts are shut off, this TRUTH will go on and will rise to its highest height or ‘temperature of perfection, and all shall recognize My ACTUAL PRESENCE even before I tell them. ‘But in the meantime, we will. tell you something a little , later onthat is very important,‘something the world must know." But as this is a Mass Meet- ing religiously assembled, politically, socially, economically and from every other angle of expression, we still grant you the privilege to move and speak according to the dictates of your own conscience. We want you to feel free! We want you to know, in a democracy you have the freedom of speech, the freedom of peacefully assembling with us, and the free- dom of the press if you please. Then I say, move accordingly if you care to, and know it ‘is your privilege to do so; but do not feel one time‘ within yourself, that your ignorance of My Message, My Work and My Mission, or your ignorance of My invitation‘ for you as strangers to speak, will retard My advances or hinder the Spirit of My Work or Mission; for My SPIRIT, My Work and My fission, they are all going on continually. I A thank you. I (Mr. A". Beller took advantage of the oppor- tunity to speaklat this time, as follows :) I ‘é , ,y. The N EW D A Y December 14th, I939 A,.D,,F.D.l A Question for the Newspapers PEACE, EVERYONE! Well, I ha.ve the honor of speaking right after FATHER, an_d it certainly gives me a thrill, Entering this hall, one would feel that a spiritual blessingwthe first thing; and the second thing, you see a serene hall—-no smoking whatsoever, It is just wonderful! None of these waiters running back and forth in the aisle handling all kinds of drinks, I mean hard liquor and every other sort of a drink. And in such a large assembly you would find police ushers walking around the aisle telling this one to sit down and telling the other one to sit down; but in this assembly it is just the opposite. It is just wonderful! Everyone keeps a seat, everyone listens i.n. The SPIRIT of FATHER just floats through the air and everyone just feels as if they are practically in‘ heaven. FATHER, why don’t the political organiza-. tions and the reporters put in the papers, the right thing? Why clon’t they show the won= derful‘ assemblage which takes place? Why _ don’t they show the refinement of the brothers ‘and sisters? Why don’t they pick out the right’ , things to show the universe or the people which _ occupy the space on this universe, and tell them the truth? They don’t understand, FATHER DIVINE will teach them and give them a good lesson, and after the lesson they will be satisa fied. Have they ever put in any of the newspapers. that there is not one true follower on relief? No! Have they ever spoken to any of the true followers and asked them if they are on re- lief? No! But they just come around and put ‘ in whatever they please, and that is what they ‘- want to. put in. Now then, there is so much to be said by some of the other speakers, and I wish Icould carry on, but FATHER is just putting the Spirit into me to keep quiet and let the world think and be taught by themselves, how things will be adjusted to a RIGHTEOUS GOVERN- MENT and RIGHTEOUSNESS will always march on. Thank You. Thank You, FATHER! Other Speakers (A number of other ‘visiting friends spoke in turn, acknowledging FATHER’S Work and accomplishments, and then Mr. Lamb was movedto read the copy of the telegram sent on December 9th» to the following: President Roosevelt, Vice President John Nance Garner, Speaker Wm. B.‘ Bankhead, of the House of. I Representatives, Secretary of War Harry B. I - under “RIGHTEOUSNESS-—MARCHES Woodring, andSecretary of State Cordell Hull; ’ after which he read a copy of FATHER’S let- ter to President Roosevelt, which was sent in pursuance of the telegr_am, ‘copies of both of which appear in this issue of “The New,,Day” ON.” This important subject called for a Message from the LORD Personally, and He came for- ward at this time to deliver the following dy- namic Messagez) ' PEACE,__ EVERYONE! ‘Here we all are again and there I sit and stand, as I aforesaid; here I go and there I come! I AM unifying the children of men to- gether in the UNITY of spirit, of mind, of aim and of purpose, whereby all mankind will eventually be one. At this particular cycle of time, and at the” time of the world crises,’ as you all see and know‘ them, it is a time——-it is th.e'time, which- ever, that we should take cognizance of-this Message as given--the cablegram and the tele- gram I have sent to the different representa- tives of this and other democracies. These" twenty-one republics of the Americas, if unified together even as the United States of America——we will bring an end to every pros- pect of a war in this country, if all of these twenty-one republics will unify‘ themselves to- gether under this democracy. I have not for several years been stressing the Constitution and its =Amendments and the Declaration of Independence merely as a fformula to be stressed and considered, but I have aroused much comment and much consideration on the Work of the UNITY of spirit, of mind, of aim and of purpose in thelact of UNIFYING these great republics together, even as we are uni-V fied stately in these United States of America under one democracy. “ Avoiding Even a Threat of War If this would be done, we would not be obliged to wait until some of these republics with which we are connected, according to the Monroe Doctrine, are threatened and are at stake, as it may be,termed, as it was with Czechoslovakia when I, sent those telegrams or cablegrams to the different representatives, proposing the purchase, of Czechoslovakia for the purpose of saving that little republic from ‘invasion and the destruction of her individual a democracy, as it may be termed; and for the ‘lpupurpose of saving millions of lives, I was , obliged to petition these governments to pro-. I pose the‘ purchase of Czechoslovakia at the ., SameJt.ime;, but apparentlyyyit was toolatel, .~ , pi 7 and far be it from us and fromour nationa-of December 14m, 1939 A.-D.F.D. me New DAY e ‘ A , 7 Asa forethought and a foresight of what ‘will befall us as American citizens, I AM now A appealing to the heads of this nation to pro- pose the UNITY of these difl"erent republics, that they might come under the jurisdiction of one democracy and be controlled and yet protected and safeguarded by our Constitution and its Amendments, even as our divers states and subjects of these United its Amendments. It is for this cause I have introduced a pro- posal, and this I have sent to the President , of the United States ‘and the other representa- tives necessary to propose such a bill, that we might have a national defense from an eco—- nomic point of view and not merely seek a. national defense by armies and navies. , Victory by Co-operation As a SAMPLE and as an EXAMPLE C1 _ stand! Economically I have demonstrated how the nations of the earth can be emancipated from lacks and wants and from depressions and can have a real national and international A defense by co-operation. I have exhibited and - demonstrated the mystery of supply by har- monization, and the mystery of the VICTORY you can acquire and gain over every opposition by co—operation. As with an‘ individual, so with a nation; and ' as with a nation, so with all of the nations of the earth universally. It is for this cause I have proposed such a bill to UNITE all of the American republics of the three great Amer-‘ icas into and under one DEMOCRACY, that we might be of one language, one nation and one speech, in the fulfilment of that of which ' I have spoken. ‘ I When this shall have been accomplished na- tionally, as"I have it as it may be termed, or- ganizationally, we shall have a RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT, with VICTORY over lacks and“ wants and depressions and VICTORY over the prospective invasions and attacks of any nation; for they will not be able to attack us when we come into possession of these divers» republics and they all become to be one de- mocracy! “ It is for this cause I stand as a Representa— ., tive of the fundamentals of life, both for those and -that of your physical or personal exist-' I ence economically, morally, socially and poli- tically. By thiswe Wlll have a RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT and‘: will be protected against. any Would—be attacks from any other nation; \ States are pro- , _ - tected and supported by the Constitution and . 8 ‘cording Ito ._ My :1 proposahf \. .\’ ‘ ' r: V 3’ ‘Then any would-be invasion. They would not at- tempt‘ it by any means whatever. ' -United Republics of America If this democracy will accept of My Message and the other republics will coincide with it and takecognizance of it, and come together by negotiation and band themselves in ONE UNITED “COUNTRIES OF AMERICA,” even’ as we at present have the UNITED STATES OF .AMERl_CA, by this we would a.lso have the UNITED R/EPIJ]3IJ1CS‘OIlfi AMERICA. By this we would bring into actuality the reality of «the prayer of Jesus, the’Founder of Chris- tianity: , ' ' » “I pray that they may be one, even as We are one.” ' V . It is for this cause and‘ for this ‘purpose I come! »:Now, can you not see how great it would be if all ofxtlie nations of the earth——~not only these twenty-one republics, but all of the na- tions of the earth——would join together in the reality ofrthe UNITY of the spirit, of mind, ofaim and of purpose? If all were "controlled by the Spirit of LOVE, of TRANQUILITY and the,UNITY of spirit, of mind, of aim and of purpose, what a glorious privilege ,it would be’ to: lcnow, in such a recognition we would cease or prohibit even the cosmic forces of nature from working destructively. o ’ beloieve I _have said enough to stir up your tkiptlife minds, but I will say this as an amend- ment towhat I have said: I do not mean My ‘followers especially, but any good "thinking person who desires to stay out of wars, out of lacks,j _w_an_ts and limitations and desires to free from. any prospect of prospective inva- sion; you, as ‘citizens of. this great democracy .. and‘ as. constituents of your respective repre- sentativesfshould petition your respective. rep- 'rese_ntatives in Congress and in the Senate, to co-operate in bringing about such a bill that ’ will bring an abolition to the division between these great‘republics,' that they might bex-UNL FAIEDV together under. this democracy and in accord ,With“our United States of America,/um der the Constitution and its Amendments, with the priVil.e'ge, to share the equal benefit of our‘ indepe‘n‘de—nce even as. .we share it indiividually. The time is "near at hand when something must come forth ‘into the land and this can be easily discerned since I have revealedit to the children of men; but until then it was not so plainly seen. It was spoken of as being neighborly and as being friends, .but it has not, or had not been brought to the surface, that we, as the divers republics of America, should be in reality -ONE—i-EA PLURIBUS UNUM. ' This inscription. on our coin was not placed there in vaini It was not inscribed on our coin in vain. It was not there- for the mere purpose of having an inscription, neither as. a.. document to be. considered, but to be lived and put into practice and acted out scientific- ally until you could say nationally, even as ‘I declared it, in the UNITY of spirit, of mind, ‘ of aim and of purpose politically, socially, eco- nomically and otherwise, HERE I AM! Now this is exactly what we are doing and all of ‘ these different ‘twenty-one republics of this part of North America, of» Central America and of South America, shall hear My Voice in-- “ side of a very few days. I have sent Messages to these other republics, even as I did to this de7mocracy,,by sending a Message to the head and heads——the chief executive and the divers executives of this nation. :'A Worker for All Humanity iNow, take cognizance of this message and you will see I do not have time to talk about fi these little‘ minor things that are here. Th e N E W D in which you all should be deeply pinterested. Now, _ _-aren’t you glad? ’ Now, thereiis somethingon footing—-—in oth- er Words, it is on hand. They will not be able to get it off so easily; for I AM petitioning and have petitioned this nation and, the other re- publics to take cognizance of My Message in the time of PEACE, when our different na- tions‘ of America are not yet threatened by 1l1VaSlOI1. ~ Safe from Attack Do not wait until the crisis shall come to your America, but take cognizance of My Message and consider if either republic of these three or two Americas, Central America and South America, would be invaded or attacked, accord‘- ing to the Monroe Doctrine, we would auto- matically be -involved in another . war. But if you as American citizens will take cognizance of this Message and co-operate with its and make every effort possible for the endorsement of, uniting all of these twenty-one republics of he the Americas together under the Constitution and its Amendments, and give them the equal right of our American independence, if they will accept of’ it, they will be safeguarded against /any attack and« any invasion by any other country that ould desire to invade their countries. ' Just think of What it would mean! Even if — Wedo not unite all of these threegreat Amer- icas, which is to say this part of North Amer- ica, the United States of America and Central America, and South America, as the UNITED COUNTRIES OF AMERICA, if you do not and will not. accept of this Message, if either one of the republics of these three great, .Amer- icas would be attacked, the United States of America would also be involved automatically and it would cause your sons and your daugh- ters to suffer misery, lacks, wants and limita- ‘ ,tions, and the sacrifice of the lives of many of them ! As a HUMANE WORKER, I appeal to this country, the United States of America, and to all of the twenty-one republics of Central.-and South America to unify together. This will be your real national and international defense! Wliy sacrifice billions of dollars for national defense to be destroyed by your enemies, when you can invest billions of dollars constructively from a scientific point of view,‘ byaccepting of this proposal according to My plan and ac-.; cording to the purpose? Why spend billions and billions of dollars for natior_1al'defense. to‘: be destroyed, if you cannot and _will. not ' 9 UNIFY these Americas and the divers repub- llCS togetlgler as the UNITED AMERICAS and theiUNITED. REPUBLICS of the ‘Americas? The Purchase Would Automatically Pay for Itself < I I propose the purchase of South America and Central America! This would be your real na- tional defense. If you would purchase Central and South America, including all of their re- publics, it would be your real_ national and international defense, if you wouldwbe obliged to purchase it; and it would in turn auto- matically pay for itself, such a purchase of such countries, with such natural and national re- ‘r sources. t Then you need not fear buying a piece of land», if you knowi your land that your are purchasing is worth more than What you are paying for it. If the representatives of this democracy will take cognizance of this Mes’-‘ sage and the divers representatives of the twenty-one Republics of Central and of South America, and they will unify as one democracy under the Constitution and under its Amend- ments, with the protection of the same and with the equal protection, of our American independence, they would be free from much of the misery, lacks and Wants and. depresl sions the millions have been undergoing; and it would also be a blessing to this country and to other countries with which We are concerned other than these three great American coun- tries. Can you not see the mystery? _, Then I say, it is a privilege to observe, it; Now‘, if these different representatives in Con; gress desire to do something for PEACE, ref-j member, PEACE ‘comes through an access an economic systemlthat will bring PEACE and bring you INDEPENDENCE! It is not necessary for you to speak ‘of our American. independ~ei’1ce unless we can individually, sever- ally and collectively express and manifest our individual independence Within us. ‘You speak of the United States’ independ- -ence as a national independence. It profits tle or nothing unless you become to be inde- pendent‘ individually, severally and collectively. My trvuefollowers are’. real representatives of the American independence, for not a one of * My real followers is on the welfare; for eco- nomically by co-operation I have taught them wisdom’ and understanding that has‘ made them. /individually independent. ‘ I i _ All. the Ainerican Republics Could Be ‘ vs ’ Independent Now, as jwithan individual, soflwith anationz A . 10 p Then I say, all ofppthe ,_nations of our American republic.s could be absolut-ely independent. as has been declared among us individually, sever- ally and collectively, economically! I need not say more from that angle of expression, but it is a point that is well worth considering. I will tell you more next Sunday, for I have something else very important to tell you. I will be telling you more and more from time to time, as the time ‘goes on. I will reveal more of that which may concern you, as this particular issue I have put forth for consideration is well worth considering by all of the American people; for in these three ,A1nericas in and on this Western hemisphere, we should be unified together under one dem- ocracy~——each and all of the different‘ Republics and the UNITED REPUB LICS OF AMER- ICA, even, as we have the«.UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. But we cannot expect to do this and be successful if we have any intention ‘ Whatever of monopo1ating———or in other words, unjustly invading——any of these other democ- racies. But give each and every one the same- protection and support of our independence and also of our Constitution and its Amendments and they will not refuse to accept of it; and it could “be _ac‘complished without the purchase I of either one of these democracies, for it would be good for each and everybody and each and all of the different rep-ublics and the democra- cies, if they all would UNIFY together; for, I f‘Whfere there is UNION, there is stnengt .” p % Iphave exemplified it, I have demonstrated it, I haverpersonified it and you all have realized it! ” A I hope these remarks will go home with you S . and ‘you will be morelideeply inspired _, by what I have endeavored. Yet I have not done any- thing 1101‘ even proposed anything yet to what I will actually do; for My Work goes on! Now, take these thoughts to consideration. As you UN IFY yourselves together individual- ly more effectively unselfishly, economically and coaoperatively, the Spirit of ,My Presence I will be in eviclence in you as itlis in Me, where- by '3f0u, from all undesirable conditions will be absolutelyxfree, even as I AM! GIVEN DURING THE RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT FORUM 204 WEST SIXTY-THIRD STIEEITI‘ s NEW YORK CITY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6th, 1939 A.D.F.D. . TIME 11:50 P.M. A packed auiilitorium raiig with , the Woirds of the KING of GLORY, Ii‘.A'J.‘l§vIE.l.{ ])'l.V.lNE, as He delivered a dynainic Message of inter- national importance. The UNfi'F,lCA.Tl'()N of all nations, lands and ‘ countries must be brought about for I’EA.CE to be"establisl1ecl. on earth, and the REI')EEMER of the World proposes as the first step, the unify'ing of North America, Central Am.erica ‘and South America, portraying in this Message the Way ‘to bring it about and the result which will be effected by the abolition of the immigration law. « Speakers Who preceded FATHER‘ were Mr. Dalton,\head of the “Hoboes of America,” and three representatives of the Henry George School of Social Science. TWO of the latter pre- sented a playin which one assumed the role ,\of an American citizen with theusual social ‘problems, and the third member addressed the assembly, speaking on an equal distribution of land‘ and opportunity as the birthright of every human being. ’ U IFATHEPJS stirring Message given the same morning at His Madison Avenue Residence, which was proofread before He rose to speak, and the one given on this occasion, proved to all that He alone holds the KEY to every problem, but all who-will can be partakers of this great emancipation. , ' OMNIPOTENT KING, WE THANK THEE! (The foregoing“ statements are those of the PEACE, EVERYONE! Here you all are and there I AM; here I go and there I come! In the UNITY of spirit, of mind, of aim and of purpose, charity begins at home. This is the Way apparently I began, but "now I AM extending My activity universally,‘ but especially in these three great Americas. When I say, “Iilereyou all are and there I AM,” when I firstly unified Myself with the ('.l]..llCl.Ii'0I1 of men, when. I through My conde- sccnsion came down on a common level with all n‘IankiI1d, when I ‘through My LOVE and COMVIIASSION took upon Myself your infir— mities and bore your diseases, that I might be ONE with you, I forbade. that such acts of My duty might, be for a selfish purpose, but that we might extend from shore to shore and from land to land, as I said through the mouth of the Apostle: 1, ‘ “Charity (or love) begins at home.” Unify yourselves in ONE at home, by the fireside, and then in your respective commu- I nities and thence in. the divers communities, and in every Walk of life realize charity, or love whichever, must spread abroad and es- tablish in all of V your assemblies, “E PLURI~ BUS UNUM.” In that I stress I have declared‘ here you all are and there I AM, making .My- self ONE with mankind individually, severally and collectively, then through My cond]escen- sion nationally. For this cause, I say this de- mocracywfor this cause I say, express your citizenry as real citizens of this democracy, b_y living and ‘bringing to fruition Within your- selves individually the Constitution and the Amendments, the spirit and the meaning of both it and them, that you might be real American citizens.‘ L ' I have emphasized it! I have -stressed- it and“ _nr.‘.~ 14 ti! I have advocated the significance of produc- - ring the spirit and the meaning of the Consti- tution and its Amendments within you and the Declaration of Independence within you, that you might be independent individually and ex- press it individually, severally and collectively, to express this democracy from a national or political point of view. By so doing, you will be real American citizens——but not until then! I have created in the hearts and lives of mil- lions, your real citizenry‘ characteristically and dispositionally~—-not only documentally, but characteristically and dispositionally-until you are real citizens in reality by the spirit and- ~ the nature of this democracy. I heard the gentleman in his discourse tonight, i in his “dialogueic” address, say this gentleman to whom, he was speaking was. an American citi- zen. It is a, wonderful thought, beloved ones, » to understand the mystery of your real citi- . zenry; what it means to be whatsoever you are representing. It means that you must produce the spirit and the nature of your religious or political discipline and bring it to fruition with- in you—-—yo'ur constitution or whatsoever it may be termed, your docu_~ments——-bring them to frui- tion within, with the spirit and the meaning of I them and be real American citizens. By this, since I have lifted a standard of PERFECTION for the citizens of America——I mean of North A1nerica——now I appeal to the authorities and to Congress, since I have brought an end by abolition in My consciousness to the line of demarcation and the Mason and Dixon Line in My consideration, let us bring, an end - Constitutionally; in other words, according to Congressand through the Senate; bring an end to the law of immigration and unify these three great Americas together. Let Central America, North America and South America UNIFY together! This is your international defense! Not with army and navy especially, but by the UNITY of the SPIRIT, by bringing nations together with their respective resources that they all might have a—f‘ull and a—plenty and be absolutely independent. I have given the nations of the earth univer- sally a slight sketch and a reflection of a per- centyof a percent of a percent of a fraction of a grain of the mystery of ictiin My economic system, by bringing capital and labor together and unifying them as one man at Jerusalem. Now, I, say, copy after the fashion I have shown ;t-hem! . I, e ” According to My economic system, the govern- Hment of this country, ifthey would adhere to [My Teaching-—in other,‘ w_ords,._if it would .(y The N aw DAY December 14th, 1939 A.D,F.l). adhere to My Teaching—-I would lift it out of all depressions. We would no longer have de- pressions-in this country. In“ a land of plenty and a—plenty to spare, why should we live in lacks, wants and limitations? Why should, foodstuff "be thrown away and destroyed by the d_estruction—makers and by the destructive forces of nature? being termed the destructive forces of nature‘; for the cosmic forces of nature would work harmoniously and constructively, if -you as a nation in this advanced civilization would Work constructively, in your thoughts, in your deeds and in your actions. — - Now you have something to work on! Get at it! Get these three Americas willingl Make them willing and ready to merge into ONE and be ONE DEMOCRACY, one flag and one speech! Let us establish schools in all of the Americas, when they shall have been UNI- FIED under the Constitution and its Amend- ments ‘of this country, when they shall have been UNIFIED. I do not mean that. this coun- try should enslave any other country, but that they all shouldibe ONE COUNTRY in reality, and they should adhere to the Declaration of Independence for all other countries and all other subjects of the divers countries with which we will be connected. When we shall have brought these three great countries to- gether, it will be a matter of impossibility for anything to sever us. _ e V ~ How glorious it will be when this shall have been accomplished effectively! The Declaration of Independence will also be as operative for Central America and South America as it is for the United States of America—-this part of North America. would not blame either one of "these Americas for refusing the UNITY of this country, un- less they all also unify together documentally according to the independence, and give them their independence in this democracy and un- der the Constitution, the same as it gives each and every American citizen at present. 'When this shall have been accomplished, We will have our own defense internationally and we will be able to lift a standard for all civil- ization and cause them to no longer study nor learn war; for we will be protected even from . the economic point of view. We Will be pro-' tected geographically. Other nation\s could not I reach us! Can you not see the mystery? With our.own protection and our own defense, by having a free access on either side. ‘ Spending billions of dollars for national de- _A Even the destructive forces ‘of nature would no longer be destructive, as But of course it is true, I e ,' self as an individual. _ how to make these advances, and the achieve- ,,ments and/the accomplishments such as I AM ‘making, all will be able to also '_ them. The NEW DAY“ A C 1-V7 “I DO NOT WANT ONEOFMYJFOLLOWERS TO PAY MAN A PENNY WHO SEEKS MONEY THROUGH GRAFT AND GREED” ——-—!EATHER DIVINE “OUR FA’I‘HER’S MESSAGE” GIVEN AT THE ROCKLAND PALACE, 155th STREET and EIGHTH AVENUE NEW YORK CITY SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10th, 1939 A.D.F.D. A TIME: 11:50 P. M. ‘ For the enlightenment of the press! especially, and those who have been misinformed through its columns, FATHER Personally explained the true situation of the court case against Him- self and others, and the facts leading up to it as it stands to date as far as Colonel Hubert F. Julian is concerned. There has been so much misrepresentation on the part of both Colonel Julian and the press, that it is only fair that the public be made - aware of the full details. At the conclusion of the first great Mass Meeting of the winter at the Rockland Palace, therefore, FATHER gave this brief address, > that all might know I just how the matter st.aI1ds,.and His attitude toward the pretended assistance of Colonel Julian. THANK,YOU, FATHER! (The foregoing statements are those of the transcriber, and FATHER’S Message follows.) PEACE, EVERYONE! Now I told you all I had something on a dif- ferent subject td tell you. This of course you have been wa.iting for, but to Me it is not so important as what I told you firstly, as this is somewhat of a. minor issue. But still I do not wish to mislead you, neither.do I wish for any self—exalted, self—styled donor to mislead you. . ‘ ~ Now I.would like to say, I know you all have heard and read about the case that had been instituted ‘against Me some -two or three years ‘ ago.‘ I am. sure you heard about this case ‘had convened last.:week,. after which you heard and read, inodoubt, that some Colonel Julian had offered to take My defense. (An .upr_0ar of protest greeted this statement, for it is well knownvthat FATHER is independent. of every-_ one and_needs no defense.) . PEACE, EVERYONE! - ’ ,Far’ be it from any sympathy or considera- tion for Me or any ‘of ._My co-workers‘ or folé , i» lowers. All of this was for a selfish purp—ose of his own and ‘his friends from whence he came, and the attorney for the plaintiffs. I-le W3S‘t1'Y1I1g in every way possible, even before the trial, before the case could be tried to see whether I would be condemned! or convicted, he was trying to get a settlement, so I have been informed, in order to help them, because they are hiscf:r_i.ends and he is not Mine! He desired to extort money out of My followers to pay what he desired to pay to them for a selfish purpose for himself and for others with whom he was connected. I A I Now the press should know that! I saw an article as published i.n some of our local papers, saying that Colonel Julian went to My rescue. <He"went to Me to undermine My followers out of money! He’ did not come to My rescue, for I need no rescue! But he and his friends from his home, the plaintiffs, desired to undermine My followers out of the money they 'claimt erroneously, maliciously and falsely; It was said, and some eye witnesses saw him and heard him say it, thathe hapdflthe money to pay the claim, even though . I have been exonerated from any charge and from every claim; but still with such an attempt, saying ' that he had the money, ‘and evidence shows, according to information, that he did not have a dollar, but desired ‘-to get the publicity and the honor of coming to My rescue. I need not to be rescued! I AM innocent of the charges and of the claim and of all of the .» claims, therefore I had told! My attorney and the other attorneysfor the defense, that not one of My followers would pay a penny to set tle the case; for we are innocent and we shall win it! Biitybecause he knew within himself,’ he and the ‘attorney for the plaintiffs, knew that we had all evidence and had all: probabil- ity of _winning the case and they idifidiinot have a leg to stand on, he came to them and they agreed among themselves to pretend that he was“ going to pay off some claims that they made, even though he knew and they knew I AM innocent, -sayi_n'g he} had in his posses~ sion, so much money ..to__ meet this obligation, to pay off the claim——even. offered to pay the attorney for the plaintiffs all he claims" he has ‘lost inithis case, spent in this case, six thous-- ‘ R ‘in .\ I .18 APEACE .—-——- and dolla1's—and then came to My private res- idence when it attracted My attention so viv- idly, and said to Me that Mr." Lamb was going to take him up to the:-Promised Land among I the followers, to collect this money.’ «- I do not want a one of My followers "to pay any man a penny who seeks money through graft and greed -and through exploitation! ‘W e t do not endorse such an act! ' ' Then I say, after he could not get My follow-L ers to pay the money for him because I told them not to do it, why, then he said, accord- ing to a statement I read in an article pub- » lished in one of the papers, he could not meet all of the obligations and claims that were « against all of them. All of the claims and obli- gations that had been exonerated were in that amount that they had agreed upon, but he did not have the money to meet such an obli- ' gation and he did not mean to spend it him- self but he meant to get the publicity, the honor of doing something, and thought he ‘could pull the wool over My eyes! Going around telling the people and even telling My followers he was trying to help Me! He wastrying to undermine My followers out of the money to give to his friends, without any claim and without any charge against Me; for I do not have any claim, neither any charge against Me whatever. ' " ‘ ' " Now tell your friends and tell the press In said it! Ten th-em I said he did not offer a dollar—-not at My understanding! It was with- out any consideration on My part anyway, but when I returned home that day, why, he said ‘ to Me that Mr. Lamb was going to take him. up to the Promised Land to collect the money from My followers, and I said, “N O!” . -‘ ~ If he had ‘desired to do something for’Me,. all of the time the case was going on, when My followers spent thousands and thousands of dollars for the defense, 'he would have of- fered to pay something to the lawyers in our A defense,,inStead of waiting until the time that t he knew I would win the case and trying, to infliience My followers to pay him, to give to the plaintiffs for a settlement where there, is no claim! It was a defraudul.ent and under- mining act, and I say, tell them I said it! I thank you. I thank you. I thank you! jrei. ED. 4-5865 A . T he N E w in A Y ‘December 14th,»\i.1939~! A§D.=F;.D. V TIME: 2:45. P. M. There can be no doubt as .to the stand of FATHER DIVINE in the pending court case, when th.e statements contained in this brief THIIRSDAY, I Message delivered at the Banquet Table upon His return ,from court, are made known pub- licly. R The press has grasped at every hint or rumor of scandal it could, to publicize and stir up antagonism against the DEAN of the universe -——now, if they are unbiased, as they have the audacity to claim, they must prove it and give ‘ the ' same publicity to the agreement signed by all of the plaintiffs, exonerating Him from absolutely every claim and charge. The concealing of justice will not be tolerated, and if such attempts are continued, the true facts can be made known in other ways; for GOD works in ways that no man can hinder! 'OMNIPOTENT KING, WE THANK THEE! (The foregoing statements are those of the transcriber, and FATI~IER’S Message follows.) PEACE, EVERYONE! Good Health, Good, Will and a Good Appetite, with LIFE, LIBERTY and the reality of HAP- PINESS, that of which had been merely an imagination by our greatnation! But I have made it a living reality! Aren’t you glad? There are so many blessings you cannot count them all. The vibrations a.re high, As My SPIRIT stopped the«. procedure of the court, even so I stop all creation when I will! Aren’t you glad? _ I heard someone sing and.I heard them say: “Joshua fought the battle around Jericho, then the sun ceased to move.” Man may set times and seasons, but GOD can stop the time from moving! Aren’t you glad? After a while they will find out this is won- derful foolishness, it is wonderful fanaticism! Aren’t you‘ glad? It is wonderful! It is won- derful! They want to hide justice now, but they cannot do it! It is ‘wonderful! , they‘ don’t .do it, I I Aren’t you_ glad? I heard someone say the other day when I 1 went in court; throughsarcasm, one of the L is GOD! there. They are going to try GOD.” Oh, it is courteofficials said, “You see, that wonderful !’ It is wonderful! The half has never been told! ‘ ' But as I said this morning when I left the court room, since I have actually won the Vic- tory and My SPIRIT forced them to sign an exoneration from all charges and from all claims——they did it a few days ago, but it was supposed to discontinue until today'———now they want it to _discontinue some more. I AM GOe ING TO LET THE WORLD KNOW IT! They are try‘ing to CONCEAL JTJSTICE! They are trying to OBSTRUCT THE TRUTH! Can you -not see the mystery?! But before when all of this slander was out," she (the plaintiff) did not “have any signed statement nor any evidence at all for the claims and charges she and others made against ,Me! Now since they have withdrawn all of, .. those claims and charges‘ and we have their 0wn’signature——at least, the court has it~—they signed it in the judge’s chambers; every last one of them signed an exoneration from all claim and said that all that they had accused Me of was false! It was a signed statement, and yet they have I not got a letter, not a word, where I have ever signed anything for any of those claims and complaints they have made against Me. Yet they signed this, signed the exonenation from .thosecl'aims and those charges in the presence of the judge, with his endorsement. Now they are trying to keep it concealed. They said, “Don!t say anything about it to thepress. Now You go on out; “go-~—on out.” I AM going to SHOUT it on the housetopsl” Now, it is discontinued until Monday. They think it will die out just‘ like that, ‘but IAM I going "to let the world know! The‘ slanderous, libelous, malicious, and prejudiced statements, charges and claims" of accusation against "Me, when they heard of those things, before I knew that they were malking any ‘charge against Me, they hurled it over the country and "even into other countries. Now why not hurlthe TRUTH, the EXONERATION? IF ’ e will see why theycannot._"_‘ '3.‘ ’ they made! T he «N E D A Y Degember 14th, i193\9 And THERE IS NOTIIING TO IIIDE! There is not AN'Y’l‘.l;fl'l.NGv to hide! I was there to be tried, if they could. try Me. I did n.ot s'L1g'g‘est the withdrawal! I did not suggestany agree- ment or ‘anything of that sort; for I'knew'as I tknow, they could not convict Me! Aren’t you glad? , And they hurled it throughout the world of civilization——a1l of the slanderous, malicious and prejudiced and libelous claims. and charges But now since they have with- drawn all of those charges, claims and accusa- tions, and given Me a “cleanbill of , health”-— the plaintiffs’ have—-now they Want to hide it! They don’t want the world to know it, but the world shall know it, if I have to start some- thing to, cause them to get it! Aren’t you glad? The other day I» did not say ‘Very much about it because the judge said, “This! will be dis- continued until Thursday noon,” and, “This is not for the public,” ‘or something like that, “until Thursday noon.” IIe did. not tell Me any- thing today! Now it is after Thursday noon. Now the world shall know it! They shall know the exoneration, they shall know the accusa- tions, the claims were all false, errbneous and untrue: malicious, prejudicial‘ and even periury; for they said in the withdrawal ‘of the claims that I‘-_1w‘as innocent! After they said I was guilty in”. the beginning of the trial! Now, I will‘ let mankind see and know. l’egally ’or illegally they cannot ,'do a thing with Me"! Then.-I say, it is wonderful! They thought thev were going to laugh at you all in "deri- sion. trying to make’ the general public think that all of your homes would be taken away from you! All of your life savings! such as you hadsaved even. through consecration. self- denial and through sacrifice, by living soberly, righteously and godly and honestly from every angle expressible! They thought that all ‘of that which you had sacrified to acquire’ these _ homes andeven. these Extensions here in the city,’ would be taken away from. you! They should“ have had sense enough to know, why. if‘ I were a ,_natural man, I would save you. If I werea -natural man, why, the common public . sentirnent would not stand for it. I 'Aren’t. you glad ‘? Then I say, naught . shall hinder Me !.—-not““ in the least! The mouth of GOD has declared -- it! I know they want to hush it‘? up‘. They .don’t want the public to know it! It is/ evidently known that there is a cause for every. effect, and if those who claim to be followers of FATHER DIVINE in relating negative experiences such as accidents, dis- appointments and failures, do not tell the cause of their conditi.ons, visitors or others who do not know, are aptto wonder if there is not some flaw inJFATHER’S Teaching. There is, of ‘course, no flaw, in the CHRIST Teaching, but if one deviates, he or she must suffer the consequenc-es; for each individual is a free i I I agentto do as he wills, but all must. reap just what they sow. A A , _ This waspjexplained byour blessed SAVIOR in His Message after the testimony of a broth- . er, in which he told of an amazing escape from ' death‘, 3 when the tr.uck_"he was driving fell over . a two hundred and fifty foot embankment into ’ wa flaming dumps While in the hospital for thir- ty—thrée days, the speaker said, he suffered no pain whatever". He neglected to explain, how- ever, that the life he had been living at the time. was very much in violation to FATHERS Teaching, and it was only through FATHER’S Wgreat. mercy that he was blessed to escape, death or permanent'_injury,, that this experi- “encel might serve as -a warning to him and ' others. I - At this instancell would just like to say in reference to one of the speakers a little while ago-—the gentleman at My left from Califor- nia——the accident he was in and which sent him to the hospital apparently ~ in a serious condition, yet he declares he was not affected ‘to the place that he bore a pain; where he was free from all agony while. under such an afflic- tIon——-In other words, in suifch an injured con- dition. I The NEW DAY December 14th, 1939 A.D.F.D.; every effect, and especially if you claim to ‘know ME, you should not have a pain, you should not have an accident. It is just as much detrimental to have an accident that would be of any effect detrimentally, , as to have the cause of the accident. Can you not f see the mystery‘? There are those who have claimed Me, Who have died and suffered much misery before they died, but what is the cause? It is a devia- tion! There is a cause for such an effect, there- fore to give justice to ‘the justifiable and to the hope of your redemption, and justify oth- ers in consciousness and in consideration, the cause of all of the undesirable effects that you have experienced or are now experienc- ing should be manifested. It should be mani- fested and you should manifest all of the causes as well as the effects. You Need Not lWant David brought this out on one occasion——I could have said on many~—something that is well worth considering for all humanity. It is quite often rehearsed by Me as a Person. I I reiterate _David’s statement: “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” ,. You need not want for anything, if you walk in the light that CHRIST has given. He re- stores your soul! He delivers you out of the snares of the enemy! He is your REFUGE and your STRENGHTH and your PROTECTION against accidents, disappointments and all fail- ure; but remember, when you fail to live ac- cording to the requirements and fail to use GOD’S remedy according to the direction, you cannot expect to get GOD’S real PROTEC- TION! . You should not have an accident! There is a cause for every accident, something like it has been the experience of others of My fol- lowers. But the-re is some deviation, some men- tal or spiritual or verbal digression that causes such accidents to befall you or anyone else, for the LORD is your SHEPHERD and you shall not want if you live the life. But it is wonderful to see how My SPIRIT actually does protect you from complete de- struction, even, in deviations at times; in com- plaints and in failure, in disobedience and in rebellions. If there is any spark of the hope in you as FAITH in GOD, at times even though you have digressed /ahd deviated and have con- ‘flicted the hope. of your salvation, still there may be a chance __f01‘.your deliverance out of sincerely and living accordingly, trouble in that of which was spoken of, in accord with that whichever, that ‘was spoken of again by the writer: - . “Call on Me in the day of trouble and I will deliver thee.” Sin Must Be Uncovered That is a consolation for one who has faith in the INFINITE, even though deviating: “Call on Me in the day of trouble and I‘will deliver thee.” But what said the Scripture‘? “He that covers his sins
